he probs will buy used
Well good luck right now
I'd say get cheaper cpu and motherboard combo and spend the spare money on a faster gpu
i said get a 8400
Yeah
but he saw this
i dont even know if he has bought that cpu tho
because he sent me that pic on the 8th april
Either a 10400f with standard MB. Or 3600 with cheap MB
The b450m board was around 50 USD (around 69-75AUD) here
With the 11400 being cheaper than the 3600, Intel is untouchable in the ~$200 market
So less than 49usd without tax included
Look out for some of those cheap motherboards, some have terrible audio
So the cheapest 3600 +b450m combo here was 202.17USD (262AUD ex TAX)
That was a special offer from last month
11400f is 30AUD more expensive than 10400F here
Not sure if people wanna buy 11400f for budget pc
ryzen 3600 is 1499 here, intel 10400F is 1000
Regional pricing. Coz it seems a lot of electronic goods are getting cheaper here recently
So we can get a 870EVO 1TB for 71USD (ex GST, coz people can claim it back from gov)
Weird
you can get most things here decently cheap
I think I have to get new ssd
Coz it is so cheap these days
And I need one coz my hdd is dying, as mentioned earlier
thats a steal
Was the Neopup PAW-20 grenade launcher effective with APC shells?
good budget microphone for mainly voice chat but i want to do streaming or youtube too with it
around 100 dollars or under
the mic i use is good sound quality and its only 30-40 pounds lol
its called the fifine
oh
Is it true that semi-automatic firearms are better than a crossbow? Isn't a crossbow semi-automatic?
If there were repeating crossbows or magazine fed crossbows, would they be considered as semi-automatic weapons? Would they be as effective as semiautomatic firearms?
they are
gaming headsets focus on i think it’s bass
that’s so sounds like footsteps are earlier to hear
studio headsets are about the same throughout
what do you have now and why do you need another keyboard? Also for headphones like studio headphones you want something to power them, a cheap dac or a receiver. you don't really wanna plug them right into your pc audio ports. Dac you can go cheaper but I recommend Schiit. They have a fulla 3 that is small and perfect for any headphone out there. Bad seed tech and randomfrankp have videos on it seriously awesome product. For headphones there are a lot of options too I sold my sennheisier hd600 for a A pair of akg 612 pros. The are natural neutral and accurate with very good imaging and listening to music is amazing.
2nd suggestion is beyerdynamics the dt770 are closed, 880 are semi open and 990 are open back. There is an amazing gentlemen on YouTube metal571 if you heard of a real headphone he probably has a review on it. The beyerdynamics are great for gaming very colorful good depth accurate bass and the best imaging I've ever heard. he has a great review on them if they get pushed too loud or hard they get a little too much sibliliance which is like s words come off really sharp but if youre not trying to over do it they really are fantastic. Also seriously some next level comfort with them. No issues with glasses or over pressure such big fluffy cushions, known for how comfy they are.
2x1TB SATA SSD or 1x2TB SATA SSD
I have the dt880
they are really nice
Except I got the 600ohm because I have an old Stereo amp that I send the signal though.
If you use a software equalizer for the signal, then you can adjust.
good for hearing footsteps
I don't know if I should have got the 250ohm or not.
None of the amps I have say, they just say that they support high impedance.
I recommend the 250ohm because most of those small headphone amps will be closer to that.
Take 2x1tb, so if one becomes corrupted or breaks, the other will still work
and it will be way cheaper to get 2x1tb
@sharp pollen I have the DT 880 600ohms as well. Nice and comfortable. Can run them both on my dac/amp combo and from my high end motherboard which supports 600ohm (MSI X570 Unify)
But if you want to run them on a phone etc you should not pick the 600ohms, the lower ohm models sounds almost exactly the same.
Do you not get feedback from the componets?
Works fine, sounds fine, almost as good as my AMP/DAC combo.
but my motherboard do advertise 600ohm so it better work fine :p
i have the ASUS ROG Strix Z490-E , apparently it supports it also, now that I looked.
Motherboard soundchips have come pretty far.
I wonder if I need some kind of front panel adapter
100khz
Wont need anything above 20khz
Tried some sony's many years ago they was pretty nice
I hooked it up to the jack on the pc. It sounds better than the amp, but I don't think it pushes them as hard as the old Sony home theater amp that I have.
The amp has a very slight hiss though.
So this does sound better
with just the PC
Nice, dont really want any extra noise
I need to try a software amp / equalizer to see if I can push them a little harder or add bass
Btw if you want bass the last thing you should buy is studio headphones
They are usually designed to have a flat curve
i have dt770 the bass is there clearly but its not ideal for entertainment
So the bass wont be too powerfull
the db880s are very accurate, very good for footsteps and other details
is the the 770 or 990 that has more bass?
I wouldnt know, with the 770 i can hear clearly down to 30-40hz
But again the bass is not boosted like headphones for entertaiment
At some point I should get a pair of wireless bass heavy entertainment headphones...
Some of them make the sound really muddy so you have to find a good pair
I had once headphones which was almost like sitting in the cinemas lul
it was hard deciding what to get. I wanted precision and something that could do decent rap/hiphop
There's no such thing as decent rap or hiphop 😄
Will you do eq etc...?
If you will eq you need proper headphones for that, cant really use bass bosted headphones for that.
Maybe its just for listening or?
I don't do anything professional, I just wanted quality
You could get far with headphones made for entertainment, if you want good accuracy across most of the frequency range i reccomend DT770. But there is one thing i dislike about them, they kind of have a sharp high end.
I heard many people like beats headphones
Yeah same, but there are also a lot of people that say they are overhyped junk.
I never had them
I mean probably half the price is brand
Beats were very crap, now they are ok but still overpriced
I see, ya brand price lul
If you can find them on a black friday thing they are probably ok
Mhm probably
but ye, you pay for the styling and brand but that is what people care about so guess that's fine
I also have a pair of Superlux HD668B studio headphones, they are cheap but great value for the money if you want to try gaming on studio headphones
Ya some people care more about that than how the actuall product performs. Sounds nice, maybe i'll check them out at one point.
Can someone advise me some headphones? I was using G430 but now its kinda broke.
Someone mentioned g733 anyone uses it?
I had Turtle Beach headphones for a long time, since BFBC2. They worked fine, but they were nothing like the clarity of studio heaphones.
I have also had Sony DJ headphones. Those are probably what someone would want to get over Beats by Dre.
Sony MDR-7506
Something like that is really good for music.
I don't know if that model is as good as the ones I had years ago, because they are only $90. The Sony's I had were $249. I had won them.
Of course back then only Sony carried them and Sony would usually inflate prices online.
Well even now the difference from their site and others is $40
for those same headphones.
NOTES: the machine shown here was used to create the simulation & video. "Oh, sweet irony" 😄
...and yes, it's not accurate in terms of physics, airflow, or what would actually happen. The fire looks fake, slow and off-scale and it could use some camera motion and noise. This was done as a quick test of upcoming camera matching and render pass...
Literally my first thought. https://i.petersmk2.com/2042021/chrome_2XdSsdWyiw.png

sheesh
I wish Gigabyte does something with their RGB software I hate it.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh
same
you guys have rgb
not because im poor
I don't like most Gigabyte products, but I recommend their BRIX mini PCs
I made the mistake of buying a board because it looked cool
honestly
you get more fps
and makes ur build look clean
makes sense
dont get me wrong it runs well and allows me to overclock freely, but could've spent a few bucks less on a boring asrock motherboard.
I hate how much voltage that Gigabyte and Asus high-end motherboards use with stock boosting
With their boards I'd set a manual clockspeed and voltage
RGB LEDs are shit. Colors are WAY off especially on the bottom section. Blue = yellow.
so i just keep the motherboard lights off
imagine this build with rgb, an actuall cpu cooler, and a graphics card thicker then pepperoni
that case is a fire hazardf
im so happy I don't run with my NZXT case anymore. My GPU doesn't scream at me when I play OVERWATCH out of all games.
Oh yeah my Gigabyte AB350 Gaming3 motherboard has the worst RGB I've seen
And a glitchy BIOS
looks like its gonna explode
I have the Aorus Gaming 7
its an ... interesting motherboard
has nice features but really not worth the money i spent on it
Intel?
8700k at 5.2ghz
Oh
running fairly well at 1.29v
is the founders edition 3060 or 3060 ti better for the pricepoint then say a different brand like ASUS
Those early 8700K can overclock very well
I'd say about 6 months after Coffee Lake launched the bins went down in quality for some reason
yeah think I hit the jackpot with mine. My friend has the same rig with a different mobo and can barely reach 5.1ghz for some reason
My brother has 8086K at 5.3 GHz around 1.3v iirc
whats iirc
I kinda wanna push it a little further because it still really struggles with Photoshop 3D
if i recall correctly @solar kestrel
You wont get even marginal gains from going up another 100 MHz tbh
I will probably build a new PC in 2-3 years. My CPU is still useable and I have a 2080 Ti which should serve me for a couple more years
Going Ryzen if Intel won't get their stuff together.
2022 is gonna be amazing for CPUs and GPUs but not for availability sadly
Shortages to last until 2023
an RTX 3070 can cost around 1,900 USD here
so yeah totally not the time for an upgrade
$2600 for the 3080 lol
We probably wont see the market back to normal for 2 years with the popularity of mining
lol yeah havent there been talks of future GPUs having mining limiters or something?
Wot?
Yeah but even with mining hashrates being cut in half, they're still profitable
really?
Highest i have seen here is about 1200 usd
This is sold by a private person https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=215481492 1 371 USD, its madness. I got mine for 7400 nok
17% VAT, low stock and farther shipping distance
people are dying to get a card
might as well take advantage of that
Mhm some good profits. Maybe i should sell mine for 2k usd
Most companies here sell the cards between 500-1000 usd tho
Open box - like new
- Used for mining crypto 24/7 for a couple months
Personally i wouldn't buy that
I got my 2080 Ti for free, it was used in game development/conventions meaning its been through hell and back
i dont give it a long life span

Oh woah
How long have you had it soo far?
even have a green sticker on the back saying for development only, not for sale
not allowed to sell it
lul
actually not sure i will have to check
Would be interesting to know
Ah i see, i see
got it january 2020
Everything has a price
So soon 1.5 years

Ah makes sense, i always want to keep my monitor refreshrate. Reason why i only got 75hz.
I would need alot of gpu power if i would want that fps with max graphics etc... in games
my first monitor was a 900p 60hz, overclocked it to 75Hz and it made a huuuge difference. That was my first "high refresh rate" experience.
Ah i just recently went from 60hz to 75hz. Image looks really nice.
Until I went to gamescom and tried BFV in 165Hz it was a great experience.
I tried my friends 144hz it was amazing!

but yeah, going below 144Hz is difficult.
I will keep to 75hz to be honest
120-144hz is sweetspot
Yep i would expect soo
I was told 165Hz would cause some flickering but it looks great so im keeping it
Thats good
Wish i could use that. I have freesync, but nvidia only supports freesync over dp
Yeah high refresh rate kinda sucks without FreeSync or G-sync
just gotta make sure if your monitor is compatible
Ya but that would mean monitor has DP i am sure of
they manually test every freesync monitor before adding them with geforce updates i think
Sounds about right
what is dp btw?
display port
ahh ok

Funny thing after i got this monitor i have turned on vsync. Just cause 75hz looks soo nice. i dont care about inputlag anymore
lmao
lul
Ultra HD
Should be called HyperHD

always used to have Vsync on because of screen tearing lol
What are some disadvantages of running Vsync?
Input lag
your key presses might be slightly delayed, obviously hard to notice but if you're playing one of these competitive games you're gonna need every bit of help lol
Ah alright
Key press isnt the issue for me atleast. Its more the mouse feeling abit like jelly if that makes sense
that too, basically all input
Mhm
key strokes, mouse movement etc
I have gotten used to the input lag of vsync to be honest
you gotta be getting that ace
Competitive games i never use vsync to be honest
I did an ace in valorant in 20 sec at one point lul
bruh
impressive for sure
isn't that why they developed g-sync freesync?
because vsync was a trash tradeoff
I have three monitors, the latest one has g-sync. The other two were Asus 3d ready
I think BF3 supported it
It is the 3d where you need the glasses. It ends up giving me a headache.
too old for g-sync though
If I could afford it, I would get two more of the current monitor I use a primary.
When I use Physx Surround with the three of them, G-sync has to be off, even on the primary.
A Gsync Ultra wide would be best.
Suppose that would be ideal
I just thought of an amazing idea, but DICE didn't add support
So instead of 2560x1440 , I could set it to 2560x1080, which basically turns the 1440p into a 1080p Wide in Windows. There are black bars top and bottom in Windows. In BF4 it just stretches and looks dumb.
The Open Screen Adjust option nor the Windowed and Borderless Modes will fix it either.
Since the Monitor is 32in, it would't have been too small.
I wonder if there isn't a way to manually edit config files.
Well, nevermind borderless works if you leave the menu
If you have an NVIDIA card then you can change the window settings so that the monitor itself is permanently stuck to the ultrawide resolution and such
btw for some reason I cant use fullscreen in bfv and bf1 for some reason
Then the game won't see the original resolution
only borderless
it is weird because the 1440p gives you the same amount of wideness if the fov is set.
and it started happening when I got a second monitor
Sounds like your settings are wack
I mean borderless windowed is the best if you can deal with the lower fps
Oh that sucks
my first monitor works in fullscreen but my second is 144hz...
so I prefer playing on ny second
I had two monitors that are 144hz, but could only do 60hz with a 3080 rtx
im just a bit pissed at new egg
cause they are only doing new egg shuffle for 3060 and 3060 ti
but at the same time
i know that scalpers are eating shit because of it
go to the twitch channel "Falcodrin"
they will help you get a card
it does take a little time and a little dedication

if you can glance at the stream in the background through the day, then you will know when a stock drop happens
they use bots to fight the scalpers
this is actually a steal for anyone interesting, i would give the mouse a 9/10. Not a fan of the software
I got a 3080 for me and a 6800xt for the wife within a weeks time.

3060
Dont you have like computer stores nearby that probably would sell closer to MSRP?
i have bestbuy
but there never in stock
that kb would suck for BF

just want to play games above 60 fps on all low
ngl im starting to get really annoyed with this shit
cause there seems to be no sign of it getting better anytime soon
Check for 2nd hand stuff also perhaps you get lucky
What card are you on at the moment?
GT 640
it was just a placeholder for my new build
but ive had it in for almost 5 months

all the shit on ebay is over 1k
and its by bid
so if i were to bid on it wich i wont cause i have a brain
it would get bought oput anyway
tf is this bullshit
then go for a card where youre gonna spend less money smh
like a 2060
Ah fair enough, can't change the active monitor in the game settings?
Have your address, credit card, password, etc , all saved to the sites like BestBuy, Newegg, Amazon, to where you just have to click once or twice to make a purchase. Then watch that Falcondrin twitch channel. He will post links in the chat and he will get on the mic and tell you as things become available. Those sites have drops, where they get a shipment of cards in "like 1000" and then sell them all at once. He has helped tens of thousands of people get video cards.
active monitor?
Should have an option to choose which monitor to play on
yah if you go to video settings it will say something lik
Monitor Display
or main monitor
something like that youll know when you see it
yeah ik that
but I chose to play on my second monitor
and not on my first
because the second one is 144hz
the issue could be my drivers but Im not sure
or you can do like ,,,,,, the millennials and be too lazy to do it and just complain 😉
wut
thinks im a millennial
you like a toddler
i am
a tiny child
kiddo
to not be able to afford the card i was really hoping to get
I have a stash of euros (500) to buy myself a gpu in combo with hkd but my parents wont let me exchange my euros
i have a stash of at least 100$ usd as a down payment
even though Im almost an adult
I have 500 euros +3000hkd
the mf card has to cost less then me
enough for a new gpu
if i just didnt buy burgers every weekened like a skinny fatass i am i could probably be up by $50 every month
but my skinny fatass wants a double patty cheeseburger every other weekend
I think imma work at maccy's for some money
i think im gonna go rob Matt of his 2080 ti
I want it
3 gigs tho
you have like 100mb of vram
no HD on movies
what funny is bfv is so cpu intensive I get the same fps in 25% res scale than 100
yah i mean its ok for wathching shows
i cant say the same
hahaha
as thje difference is about 40 fps
your gpu IS actually doing its best in bfv because your cpu is litteraly carrying it
i think the worst part is
i gave phantom forces a go
had to play on the lowest setting to get 60 fps
do you play valorant?
if yes IM curious what fps you'd be getting
since that game can run on a shitty laptop
i get good fps on valorant
at least 60
dont play that tgame much tho as its not very fun imo
me neither
blame amd for that one
freesync over hdmi is amd proprietary
I'd completely avoid monitors that have just DisplayPort 1.2 support
Need 1.2a or better
mine has 1.4 i think?
i dunno
but hdmi completely gimps this monitor if I use it
since no gsync, locked to 60 Hz, etc
RTX 2000 GPUs support HDMI 2.0b
RTX 3000 GPUs support HDMI 2.1
Iirc Nvidia GPUs with HDMI 2.1 can use FreeSync via HDMI but not 100% sure
FreeSync over HDMI isn't AMD propriety, no documentation of that in patents
Intel HPG GPUs will support FreeSync over HDMI
Strangely, Xbox One and Xbox Series X have the best implementation of VRR over HDMI of any other device currently
MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Ventus 3X 12GB OC It seems that manufacturers have already begun shipping GeForce RTX 3080 Ti to distribution centers. A shipment of new MSI graphics cards is heading to Los Angeles. Large boxes with GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3090, Radeon RX 580, and even GeForce GT 710 are heading to […]

Ergonomic mouse. Good for people with damage to their arms, wrists hands etc.
Just is odd with 3 button
It's pretty oldschool but it works great, what is odd is that it has both 3 buttons AND a scroll wheel
and its a left handed one

That's just bitcoin mining, doesn't even include Ethereum, Dogecoin or alt-coins
Humans rapidly depleting resources for absolutely no reason or benefit other than non-physical currencies that are unstable and could lose all their value in 1 day
Humans are getting dumber
theres dumb like being obsessed with minecraft youtubers, and then dumb like destroying our world
yes good point
Cryptocurrency mining uses more resources than the entire oilfield industry
Hundreds of millions graphics cards and ASICs all constantly drawing power
thats just a piss take
Not to mention making those graphics cards costs power
and some are made for "miners"
for 3 bucks a day smh
Twitter servers got lost in time
dont mind me just perving on your twitter
i dont even have a twitter account idt
i have apparently made 4 to enter giveaways...
oh wait i do!
i made it also to enter a giveaway xD
and it auto sends a tweet
nice
let me just.. delete that..
lol fail
:[
i tried
shows how much i use twitter eh
dont even know where the user name appears

this might be a bit obscure. but i need an action camera HAS to be waterproof, preferably 4k but at least 1080p and under 80 bucks. if anyone is an action camera nerd. hmu
@supple bane I think used go pros
Hmmm
there are plenty of 4k 30 fps action cameras out there for like 50 pounds. i just need to know if there are any well known good ones
Hello guys, recently got a bf4
I'm on
i5-7400, 1660S, 16gb RAM 2400MHz 1600x900
Getting 90% cpu usage, and 40-50% gpu usage, any way how to fix that?
youre playing on 900p on a 1660 super ?!
No other option rn
it sounds about right, the usage
as resolution decreases cpu load will generally increase.
that cpu is already pretty weak. so playing at 900p would really stress it
other games arent battlefield :P
BFV aren't like that too
it should be
i used to have an i5 7400 and it was on 100% usage constantly, wouldnt change
eh, gon keep collecting money on r5 3600
i wouldnt upgrade to that
not when the 10400f and 11400f are cheaper and faster
much cheaper actually
10400f for sim performance for much cheaper, 11400 for slightly cheaper but faster
For real, 90$ cheaper then 3600
is it? iirc they were almost exactly the same
But good motherboards for 10400f is more expensive ;(
iirc most games lie between 5-10
you dont need a good motherboard tho
because you cant overclock it
sure you dont get more ram speed and pcie gen 4, but to get those doesnt really give you that much more performance
if youre a feature/clout chaser sure, those matter
the lack in ram speed will not counter the fact its faster
ram clocks matter a lot
you know different cpu architectures leverage ram differently?
getting a faster cpu matters considerably more than faster ram
amd is fairly ram dependent for some reason, while intel isnt
1080p relative cpu gaming performance
by ... 1%, thats within margin of error
i know.
closer to .5%
i just assumed it would be considerably faster
What's good atx motherboard for 10400f?
the 9600k i mean
let me repeat. you dont need a good motherboard
you need something that has what you need. and nothing more
i assume you mean good pair
oh.
hmm did b460 mbs go up in price?
cheapest i see is 100 bucks, then 110, then it jumps to averaging around 130
im terrible with motherboards for intel i barely know what chipsets are compatible with what cpus :[
i know amd chipsets. just not intel
Benefit of i5-10400F: it's cheaper than Ryzen 5 3600 and faster most of the time, also consumes less power
Benefit of Ryzen 5 3600: it's on a socket that gives you the upgrade option of up to 16 cores and it could support yet another generation (Zen3+)
bfv is quite cpu intensive, and 7400 is weak
also overclockable
there's also 11400 which is in between the two in pricing and has pcie 4.0 and ram oc
Ryzen 5 3600 doesn't get that far overclocking
but it can overclock non the less
3600 also has unlocked multiplier
i just said that :[
Multi thread better
🧐
Well, i guess, im gonna stop on ryzen still
3600 with b450 tomahawk is 320$ total
idk what that sentence means..
- about 50-100$ on ram
why thooooooo
region?
why would you pay more for a slower cpu
Ukraine
Upgradeability, unlocked multiplier, multi thread performance, intel has higher TDP and power consumption
pretty sure the power draw of the 10400f is lower. but yes the others are true
although i would place gaming performance over the others, for me at least
upragadability is only a concern if you plan on getting a new cpu within... pfft 3 years?
unlocked multiplier imo is a meaningless perk if it doesnt really benefit you
3600 does have better multithreaded performance, but unless you are doing some sort of production that uses that whats the concern?
pretty sure power consumption is similar enough to not be a concern
without knowing your prices there, ill be honest, it just sounds like you want amd for some reason and are trying to justify it
that means nothing
10400f is 160$ 3600 is 230$
But motherboards for ryzen is cheaper
For intel is more expensive
i also have my doubts about that video tbh
its hard to think that a 70 dollar price difference is made up in the mb
because it shows the 3600 outperforming the 10400f. although that shouldnt be the case
3600 with mb is 320$
only pubg had anything more than a 10 fps lead, everything else was similar or slight lead for intel
bitwit
did you mean to post the same video twice?
you didnt say price of 10400 with mb either
you know how overly complicated that scenario is without knowing what you have in stock and prices?
Decent B460 motherboard is like $70-80
just checked na, the cheapest b460 is 100 now, idk when or why they went up in prices but they did
i5-10400f with b460 mobo is 275$
That's bad
save 50 bucks for similar performance? still sounds good
imo only logical scenario for going with a 3600 is if you need the multithreaded performance (NOT gaming), or really do plan on upgrading cpu within roughly 3 years
I remember i5-8400 and a B360 board together could be had for as little as $220
With H310 about $200 lol
Also remember when Ryzen 5 2600 was $120 and 3600 was $160
best value was probably the 1600 af for 80 bucks
1600AF was the best value at $85 which is why I have one, it was so high in demand that Amazon and Newegg increased the price to $105 just a couple weeks after it came out
My 1600AF is a beast
4 GHz all-core with 1.187v peak and stock cooler
It's the same CPU as the 2600 but with slightly lower stock clockspeed, I see many users reporting better overclocks than even the 2600X
Main reason that it exists is because AMD wanted to replace the 1600 branding since they stopped Zen 14nm production for mainstream desktop
good stuff
i still cant work out how the hell gigabyte bios voltage offset works
i just tried then, in theory the stock voltage is 1.2v. and i need to get to 1.35. so the offset should be 0.15. although that didnt seem to change anything when i applied it
so ill just continue to open ryzen master every time i launch my pc i guess
@storm osprey counting prices with ram included there's barely 5$ price difference
Between ram + mb + 3600/10400f
that doesnt make sense...
ram is interchangable, if anything the 10400 ram should cost less since its less ram dependent
not like 2666 vs 3000 or 3200 ram prices are drastically different anyway
3600 with mb and ram is 370$, 10400f is 367$
cam1x — Today at 12:11 PM
3600 with mb is 320$

i5-10400f with b460 mobo is 275$
if you get the same stick of ram the price difference is still the same...
That was prices without ram included
And sticks for 3600 is 3200mhz, while for 10400f is 2666mhz
right.. the prices for intel cpu and mb was 50 dollars cheaper, youd get the same ram for either, so the price difference would stay the same...
Difference between ram is 11$
so how is that suddenly only a 5 dollar difference in price when theres nearly 50 dollar difference before ram?
114+157+91(intel)
78+200+103(amd)
mb->cpu->ram
How prices are placed
yeah i messed up a bit
are you getting some deal idk about? you said 3600 before was 230, and 3600 with mb was 320
14$ difference
Nah, same prices
Maybe i took another store for cpu
Where it was chepaer
Because it how google places them
idk whats going, but if similar prices then yea, go amd. id intel is cheaper by 50 bucks or more, id go with intel
Amd is about 30-35$ expensive deoending on store
idk how tight money is for that price difference, but it wouldnt be a shame to pick either or for that price difference for me
AMD has forced Intel into a place where both are fine to buy. It should be a great time to buy a PC but then the Corona demand + crypto silliness happened.
When did prices of ram also increase?
Many things affect RAM supply
The silicon shortages all because of the increase in demand of devices
DDR4 has been steadily going up for the past few months
due to corona like online learning etc
I see..
but yet I hate the crypto currency miners just as much
I have not checked the prices of ram in a couple of months
They also caused the increase in the demand of gpus
which in turn increases price economics bla bla bla
The problem is that companies like nvidia did not predict the scale of demand
Even if they had predicted it not much they could have done, building a factory takes years.
I know Crypto is smart and all but on the other side it's also incredibly dumb.
It replaces something we already have, a currency, and adds electricity pollution, chip scarcity and wear and tear on so much hardware.
Totally agree
it just increases e-waste and energy consumption at a time were we are struggling with global warming
the negatives outweigh the positives at this point
Imagine if you got the crypto currency by walking and collecting garbage 😄
😂
There is some talk of the US government issuing a crypto currency https://theamericangenius.com/finance/did-the-us-government-agree-to-start-funding-cryptocurrency/ Mexico launched Cobro Digital that allows users and merchants to make online transactions in digital pesos last year, and China has started testing on a digital renminbi. The Bahamas is the latest country to join the digital fray, announcing on Tuesday that they would be rolling out a nationwide digital currency sometime this month.
Welp
This isnt good
Idk why the US would fund cyrpto currency since it is untraceable and would be used in the black market
It might be to stay competitive with other nations
You can make a crypto currency that's traceable if you wanted to
Might shorten your CPU's lifespan
yes just might
Might shorten the CPU outright
Your cpu cooler might be a ltitle red
just a bit
something wrong with my internet
im having high ping in u.s servers
oh nvm somehow it went down that was weird
Yeah I think amazon is also doing it
even joe is too
Joe rogan?
joe mama
Welcome! You must be new to US government.
@ancient ridge You on Starlink?
I don't get it until next month.
well, nevermind
I just checked tracking
Scheduled delivery: Tuesday, April 20, 2021 by end of day
I am worried about down times and ping though.
My current internet is on Wimax infrastructure. It's like a Point2Point radio signal, and my ping already jumps from 50 to 100 in game.
Anyone have experience with the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Studio 80 Ohm?
How long should a 1080 or a 2080 last???
depends how fast technology will advance
how long does it hold up to games or how long before the gpu fries?
if you have these gpu's 4-6 years is how oong you should keep em before upgrading
no point in buying em if you buy a new one the year after
@weak girder Hold up to games yeah. I plan on using my computer for playing games like planet coaster and the such
Uhhhh this is an old 2012 computer but i plan on saving up for a computer with the most basic of stuff
Yeah true
I'm not overly concerned. guess i'm overthinking about it anyways
This current computer i literally just got has so many issues
didnt you upgrade to a pc?
no?
werent you supposed to receive one or smth
Yeah i got it but it's got a load of issues, So i went and looked at other computers to save up for
I should probably just lay back and think
well depends on what you want
are you just searching for smth that can do work or a powerful gaming machine
cuz if its for work you dont need a gpu
depends on the work :p a 3D graphics designer would probably disagree
mid is with performance governor, top is schedutil, both on battery
I wonder why perf governor while on battery is so bad on this laptop
Oh well
laptop manufactures might have limited the wattage if the battery is detected
it will not perform as fast as you expected unless you have plugged in your laptop to the wall
my fps does not go up above 60 on bfv, turned off vsync. have 1650ti and ryzen 4600h
any solution?
I know, this is just two different governors, both were battery
8gb ram?
top two plugged in
it wont push more than 60fps anyways
what settings are you running it on?
medium
also check your resolution setting or engine settings. there is a refresh setting attached to your resolution and a game engine limiter
yeah try adding another 8gb ram
any heavier map?
hamada is
My motherboard dac easily handles my 600ohms
Bought a new new SSD, should arrive tomorrow, why? Well:
https://www.techpowerup.com/281196/chia-the-cryptocurrency-gunning-for-your-ssd-and-hdd-space-that-could-bring-another-tech-sector-pricing-up
A new cryptocurrency going by the name of Chia could bring about a boom in demand for HDD and SSD, which have been kept relatively untouched by the latest mining and supply constraints. However, optimistic predictions of falling prices for NAND (optimistic for consumers, that is) could prove to be e...
and have wanted a nvme 4.0 drive for a while
I don't know how many amps my mobo dac can support
that's why manuals exist ^^
ive ran my hd 6xx off my laptop and its fine
i think people blow the ohm requirements and how vital it is to meet those out of proportion
granted, thats the audiophile community in general
you want the impedance of the source and the headphones to match well, otherwise you can get weird results, but if something sounds good to you then you don't really need to get technical
Flash back from the early 2000's. Sub heading: when 16 gigs ram doesn't quite get it. Anyone remember the bad old days when it was mandatory to re-boot after a couple of games because of SDRAM's refusal to free up space and everything on your machine all but froze up until you re-booted?
Last night after a full day and night of gaming. I come out of game and everything is virtually frozen. Thought it was my firewall...took me an hour to delete it...nothing. Finally I re-booted and yeah good and smooth again.
4gb oh no
4GB video memory used with 2560x1600 display
4gb
Not for gaming imo
what thats a laptop right?
why would the display need to be both g sync and free sync?
Damn laptop displays have higher resolution thjen my own monitor
new imac
It plays nice with AMD's Ryzen CPUs now, too.
remind me not to run chkdsk on a 8 TB drive again
I had issues with ntfs cause of 4 files with wrong index
But this chkdsk will take hours afterwards searching
estimate 15 hours

good thing HDDs like this never really get hot so 16 hours of constant read is no issue
"Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 21.4.1’s improvements start right up front. AMD is tweaking the setup process to offer a minimal install that removes more optional functionality (such as streaming tools and performance tuning) if you don’t want the full suite of features that Radeon software offers, as you can see above. The company also plans to offer driver-only installation if you don’t want Radeon Software whatsoever. It’s also worth noting that AMD still doesn’t require any sort of authentication to use its software, unlike rival Nvidia, which locks its GeForce Experience application behind a login."
Best thing about new Radeon update
its laughable how horrible they look
i have a macbook pro with the exact same hardware and m1 chip, so they will run crazy well but just the design of them is so ugly. Not even a black model either (metal part of it) all of the screen bezels are white which just looks so bad.
the cpu is gonna be better thats for sure but not the gpu
I'm weird i like windows desktops but don't like windows laptops. Don't like mac desktops but love the laptops.
I think the design of the base is to counterbalance the weight distributions
The base is whatever, the weird colors choice is the main thing. Plus the screen
None of those colors would suit my apartment. Painted grey walls, black furniture with a bright orange computer on a desk for example lmao
I have a gtx 1060 6 Gb and was wondering if I could run battlefield 1 with it @ me if you have a response
yes you can run it very well
at 1080p high
Battlefield 1 will run ultra settings 1080p at over 100 fps
not sure bout that
my friend with a 1650 super gets 70 fps
on ultra 1080p
not ultra
i have a 2060 and I get maybe 80-100
high-ultra
i dont mind the colours imo
Only wish bezels were not all white and instead another colour
Once again apple have gone for design over functionality
I can't wait to see how much it thermal throttles
Oh. Well that's even worse, because they refuse to have any form of decent cooling, they have to use laptop hardware in a desktop
they use same M1 in all of them rn
they don't have a big one yet
But they might when they get to iMac Pro I guess
normal iMac didnt have that good specs before either
Intel 21 inch ones just had dual or quad cores
I don’t think it will get that hot with their thermo solution
The 2016 MacBook was designed for intel’s 10nm processors
Someone posted an image of their RTX 3090 they got from Best Buy, RIP
oof
welp, RMA time
RMA would take a while with shortage going on
cpu / ram wise
not gpu
and I get almost the same fps in each game
theres a 5/10 fps difference and thats all
Nice
I do half of each rn
Well nearly
3 SSDs and 2 HDDs in my desktop
But the HDDs are bigger capacity
I had the 4TB hdd but it failed after ran out of warranty
rip
Got mine today as well.
Im also in kind of a pickle cause i recently upgraded my CPU
What'd you get?
So the only part i could upgrade is my GPU
But that's not happening right now lol
i5-10600
Oh
I have a Ryzen 9 3900x
IDK I won't wait that long to upgrade it again.
EA usually does betas with battlefield right
Yeah
I want to see how my current machine runs it
It should run ok at 1080p I think.
Otherwise those with a 1660 ti are basically screwed.
BF1 runs smoothly on my current setup, i was at the highest point in Monte Grappa looking down at the action
And it still ran at 120 fps
I tried playing Battlefield V last night and I couldn't do anything without someone killing me almost instantly.
idk if it could reach more, i capped it at 120
I could run BF1 at 4K with a 1070.
The FPS is over 60
o wow
I have a 1070 and it can run most modern titles pretty stable on high
in 4k?
No. Most games don't run at 4K but some will.
Oh right, i havent overclocked my 1070
Honestly im kinda nooby in that area
How do you overclock?
You don't have to. You'll still get pretty near 60 fps.
Im using a 144Hz monitor tho so i turn most games low
To make the best of the refresh rate
I usually don't overclock because it usually causes my games to crash and I need the stability.
Well... Yeah
if its even possible on that card
It's possible it would just suck way too much power.
1k WATT PSUS finally useful
I'm making a game.
Using msi afterburner or similiar programs, or GWE
They all use nvapi so evga, msi afterburner and other oc software is similiar
Better have active cooling on your motherboard backside then 😄
it's like the memory on a Geforce RTX 3090
i really dont like to generalize brands, but yea, if there was 1 brand i would avoid, its asrock

#Z590 #Asrock #motherboard
this guy is pretty spot on
I mean for most users they still do the job
But yeah compared to the other z590 they do a poor job
idk, theres a lot more than just doing the job when prices are likely within 10-20 bucks of other MUCH better offerings
2TB drive installed, now there is room for whatever much BF6 will take
i can't really see the differences in gaming with anything faster than sata
so i bought sata ssd for now
why so much storage wtf
this is what i have for my 2nd pc
the difference between a standard sata ssd and something like a top of the line pcie 4.0 nvme drive is generally a couple of seconds
sometimes pcie 4.0 nvme is slower than sata in game loading
ive not seen that one
regardless, buying expensive ass drives for just gaming is such a waste
even something like the 660p which is shit on is still perfectly fine for gaming
pcie 4 it is like 0.5-2s behind compared to sata
but the pcie4 nvme has a much faster speed
well this guy shows a bunch like that
either way, for just gaming just get the cheapest decent ssd you can get
the speed is just bottle necked coz of the gpu and the game engine these days
I'm an IT professional so I might go a bit bonkers with the hardware compared to what most people need.
i draw rectangles
yeah i do mostly gaming these days
I need 2TB pcie 4.0 drives so I can make this
Wow, better get dual epyc 7763 for that
that was a joke btw
back to quad core
I can oc this higher to be honest.
since I have a really good cooler
3900X still going strong
is that usage at idle ?
no
yeah good
Can't you see I'm playing Battlefield? 😄
there you go, 5 core
i didnt think to look :(
3900X is nice
why u cut off 3 cores ?
1 core
8700k is 6 core 12 thread
and just for fun, turned the last core back on
used to
it was meant for quad core
but you have the ability to unlock the 4th core from the 3 cores
does anyone know if PBO is an X series cpu thing only?
No all AMDs current CPUs are fully overclockable I believe
yeah except mobile
well i tried to find it in bios but i couldnt. and i saw someone say online it was X series only
I use CTR to overclock my CPU, works better for me than PBO
its also locked for me in ryzen master
what cpu you got`?
r5 2600
I think those only have precision boost, not overdrive
well its terrible at overclocking anyway
but im a nerd and wanted to tinker, see what effect on voltage and clocks it had :(
manually i cant get it to break the 4ghz barrier
at max safe voltage of 1.35v i can hold 4.1 in games, but not sythetics
also. -_-
at 15% fan speed, cmon gigabyte
I changed the thermal paste on my GFX a year ago, lowered the temps quite a bit.
i'm using my 2nd pc coz it runs way cooler than my primary
i dont trust myself to do that
pretty easy, i know. just a few screws and it basically falls apart. but i panic and make silly mistakes when im working on my own stuff
even the same rig with the same gpu was causing the room temp to jump beyond 38c
