I usually use allow my pc to use max 80-90% of the PSU rated wattage

If you got a 500w PSU doesn’t mean you can use it all 500w for the whole time. I usually give 20% headroom coz it is better for the longevity of your power supply

Like to I would allow my PSU go maximum 400w if I got a 500w PSU. Sometimes the coil will start making noise if you go above. Like I got 2070S and 960 plugged in at the same time, the PSU makes noise from the coil, but a single 2070S won’t

generally people say allow for a nice headroom above the power draw of your components because of power spikes

some times components can spike in power draw way above their rated tdp and if you dont have an adequate psu for this it will trip ocp and the pc will shut off

As you guys know I have tried and pushed the limit >710w on 620w bronze PSU in real life, by putting a 2070S and 960 together, the PSU itself is making too much noise (no noise if not exceeded in general) and the whole rig unnecessary heat heating the entire room (29C vs 31C, 2 C differences). i hab question. ive never really paid attention to what ram timings i have but i just decided to look at the side of my ram sticks and it says 13-15-15-28. but if i look in cpu-z it says its running at 15-15-15-32. so does that mean my sticks are rated for those timings and i could punch them in in bios and it should be stable ?

I would use d ram calculator. cpu z has some issues reporting first number timings. I have cl14 15 15 15 24 cpuz reports it as cl 15 15 15 38. The numbers on the sticker on the side of your ram is the xmp profile or what the manufacturers say it can boost too. if you turn on xmp or docp if should use the numbers on the sticker.

it should also have a voltage rating but yes if you manually put those numbers in it should work unless your cpu won't do it or some other issue

yeah its the gas thats in server rooms, if you are inside when it goes off it fills the room with gas completely in like 30 seconds

afaik the only way to kill a cpu from overclocking is too much voltage. but thats easy to avoid just find the maximum safe voltage of that chip and dont go above it

mostly wont go above 45

in syntheic load at 1.35v i hit like 55 ish
