too many variables to account for irl
i wish there is a clean and crisp case with absolute airflow
im always after bang for buck first
you both did choose the same storage and ram
silverstone case did make it into gamernexus list though
3600 is fine, i wouldnt get cl20 though, im sure there are cl18 for the same price or cheaper
3200 cl16 vs 3600 cl18 isnt a big difference though and youre very likely able to manually tune one to the other
that ssd is just really good value
yeah, it's like 5% with no GPU limit
i would pick cl18
lemme see the ssd i have
I'd just get a 3200 cl16 crucial kit and overclock the snot out of it which is exactly what I did, I got to 4133 cl14
Rev.B is nice
860 evo
its hard to get a cl14 to right spot
just tightening the subs is where all the perf comes from anyways
even 4000 20-20-20 with tight subs kicks ass
probaly go for higher clock since ryzen always top that
no need to replace 860 evo
is the 860 evo better or worse that the one you guys sent
better
better then what?
mx500
yeah, much nicer controller
and 860 is better than mx500
but they are not different that much
ok good so i dont gotta waste on a ssd
they are both 3d tcl
controllers are very different
i can move to something else
so in the list this one: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v2My8J
it says some parts are incompatible
both have dram
its a warning more than anything
Тут есть русские - There are Russians here
pcpartpicker are dumb in that
most likel your motherboard will come with factory bios update
you sure?
every mobo manufactured in late 2020 gonna come with bios updated out of the box
probably but its an english only server as well
ok
you cant even pick b450 t max, what a shame
@twilit silo b550 aorus pro is a solid option for cheaper
i have a 860
I just couldn't find the Russian server and found only this one
ima just put into the new pc
i dont think theres a russian BFD server
which auros pro? theres like 6
b550 aorus pro
just the standard one
if you are unlucky to find a board with outdated bios, you can find a ryzen 1000 or 2000 cpu to update
b550 aorus pro is also very nice at mem
can do 5400 2xsr and 4800 4xsr no problems, DR only does like 4533 though
well you can find windows key for like 10-20 dollars
dont think we are allowed to promote that
y
it is legal in the EU, but not in most other places
im in the us
nah legal or not, its a viable option
this being an official discord i dont think they want and grey area markets to be promoted
not legal
so ima just move the ssd money to os
yeah, if the mods allow chat like that discord will screw them other, they are extremely strict on it
i think that if you are student, windows 10 home are free
provided that you have a valid student card
i can ask
i can only find gigabyte auros pro for 170
seems the same as msi and they seem similar
170 vs 180
things like that i would just revisit the question when you are ready to buy
can you hardwire it
well since you want atx you can get a pcie wifi card
you really need that thermal compound
well if you got money to spend
well can i cheap out
you can save 200 dollars if you use the old build and when straight for a 3080
i can save if i dont get a extra ssd
or if i get a os on a grey market
for now this is the build
ima check with other friends tmr a adjust acordingly
ima gts though
thanks homing for the help
honestly if you could save i recommend you would
for 200 usd you can get 50% more perf from the 3080

Btw, definitive is on discount again but I only have 900 boins. This week's reward is cc

guys I found out my monitor was running at 75hz instead of 144...
and this whole time I thought I was seeings 144 fps
just changed it in the settings
Congrats, hoped you like it
I get 100+ fps on low
I always play on low anyway
Also, it's perfect for my 144hz free sync
is it an air cooler for the cpu? Do you have any temps issues?
Ah gotcha yeah I have a dark rock pro 4 air cooler and have the same issue. I took a razor blade and etched a groove into the pcie lock switch so I can push a long flat head into it and not slip
also felt like seeing the extra effort so i cleaned my CPU cooler for the first time in 1 year
Before:
After:
oooo well thats good you cleaned it
well atleast you got around to cleaning it and it wasn't that bad to begin with
imagine what the gpu fins will look like in 2022
probably the same as in the before photo
any decent virus scanners about that arent dodgy ?
i just use windows defender honestly
oh
i used that and it said nothing detected but people say its not good enough
windows defender
or if you do do it through a vm and a separate hard drive
my cpu is hitting 100% all the time when playing games like BFV and COD so i thought i would scan for any malware/virus's
what cpu and what gpu
my 7820x and 9900k with 2080ti/ 3080 bang off 100% a lot
its a 1660s and a i5-9400f
even though with 1070 i should have been gpu bottlenecked
COD is so stuttery
look at task manager and see if there is anything else eating resources
thats the thing
@chrome skiff believe me you won't find a fix for it
Its something deeply wrong with his pc, and without having it there infront of you you won't find it
say if i was playing BFV , it takes up about 85-90% but its still pinned at 100 , people said it might be a virus or malware
can you reinstall or reset windows?
if its truly that bad just wipe the pc
ff sake
He has
done that before
I have too
ah
didnt do anything
whenever i suspect i might have a big virus i download malwarebytes and run the scan and let it do the work and then uninstall it
I think its a faulty peice of hardware
Whats weird is i ran userbenchmark on his pc and all the results came back as average
i think faulty piece of hardware might be the most likely cause
So nothing is significantly underperformed
if you've re-installed windows
are the fps in game low or are they fine it just looks choppy?
he showed me the usage of all the parts while running the game and the cpu never got to 100% iirc
thing is tho when i sent it back to the company i think the only thing they did was reinstall windows and do the benchmarks as i have it in the photo files
i have a video from ages ago that i can show u
sure
Its just like 2 fps
Its not stutter, there is no fps to stutter lmao
open bfv and do perfoverlay.drawgraph 1
then show me a video or picture of your graph
can u give me like 10 mins and i will do it ?
mhm
ok
If I set BFV to my monitor native res and ultra quality settings, my CPU or gpu usage gets either 99% or 100%
Which is pretty normal. But I need more information from your end so I might be able to assist you
idk wtf is wrong with it
your system should definitely run the game better than that
i even tried low settings and it was still unplayable
still pinned at 100% on low
hess , i can run the game on ultra 1440p and get 80 fps
ice is your video cable plugged into the mobo or the gpu
well i used to be able to get that FPS
gpu
is there an integrated gpu in your system?
can you double check for me
not sure tbh , any way to check
it is in the gpu lol
go to game settings and it should say which GPU it's using in there
should say GTX 1660
if not change it to 1660
but honestly
There are many reasons that causes CPU on 100%
i would ask the company to have it back but it will be gone for like another month and i have school work to do
According to my experience helping people around the world
The most bizarre one is, the intel stock fan worn out and capped at 500rpm
Repair the game, sounds like you did
But I can tell you, my 3600 isn’t as Powerful as I expected
If you can, please find a way to display all the pc components stats (including temperature, frequency, and usage if possible)
Based on what I have received, (I need a refresh). We/I can barely help. Coz it lacks of important info
this game barely use my cpu
he has a 9400f so no
the fuck
ice do you feel like letting me access to your pc again and check some things? if it doesnt bother you of course, and it doesnt have to be right now either
ok
teamviewer we using ?
do you have anydesk installed?
Is that a prebuilt?
yeah it is derek
no
Is the CPU heat sink attached?
yeah
Tight?
if your thinking of my temps , on msi afterburner its around 65-75 when gaming
ok im downloading teamviewer then
Intel heat sink?
Hmm. What will be the cpu clock speed while gaming
i will get it to
ok
which is the one i have and i think works better
what processor you are using again?
i5 9400f
u able to send me the download link ando ?
ty
np
Hmm your name sounds like a friend of mine
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 6
6C6T
Wait up an offtopic question
Any chance you came from asia?
@fallen harbor, if you can, please monitor the CPU temp, usage and clock speed from the hardware side. If isn’t hardware issue, then reinstalling windows might be recommended
yeah
please help, when i start BF4 i lost sound everywhere , everything gets deaf . . . . anyone can help ? i tried all troubleshoot options
have you tried windows sound settings?
and selecting your speakers or headphones as an outout device?
temps and speeds are performing correctly
i have recorded my session on his pc just in case
i am almost sure his cpu cant stand his two high end monitors so i told him to try to turn one of them off next time he plays
if thats not it then idk tbh
?
?
?
?
@fallen harbor that will be weird coz I got 1x 3440x1440 At 144hz monitors with 1x 4K 60hz or 1x 2k 144hz running at the same time
what cpu?
Another issue can be he set the FPS cap to 200hz and the CPU is drawing too much performance out of it
3600
Coz I know if he uses 200hz at high or ultra settings, it can slow down his PC since the CPU is constantly running at 99 or 100%
i see, then if tha'ts not it then idk
this makes no sense, if you uncap your frame rate, the cpu will work as hard as possible to get as many fps as possible, this doesn't cause stuttering because it doesn't try to perform more than it can, it just performs as much as it can
I've compared his performance to mine
Is he running the game on HDD?
yes but that makes no difference anyway
for instance the training map peformed at 104fps on 1080p and low settings and i did it at the same time with my pc which is slightly worse than his and mine never went below 200fps
i disabled every single non microsoft service too
This is what happened if you uses more than 100mb/s
restarted the pc
He shall reinstall his PC and see how it goes
You meant, reinstall windows?
Give me more info, I shall take a look when I get up
I would be interested to see his in game settings
just let me edit it and convert it
Coz usually it happens with hardware issues
DX12 and DLSS are off?
Coz if it’s in game issue, this is what it bugged my 3600 and 2070S setup
even ask granty , he helped me reinstall it
Coz my pc couldn’t get over 20fps with those on
Please do a check if you got time next time, I cannot think of any non software related issue that may cause the FPS drop in normal condition
dx12 was disabled
dlss i think too
cant remember
isnt dx12 required to enable dlss?
if so then both were disabled yes
When you got time, please send me a footage and see whether I can help him or not. Haven’t got BFV installed on my HDD for a long time.
Dm me the link when it’s up. It’s almost 4am here and was meant to sleep 4 hours ago
ok
I have a big problem with bf1 and bfV where my 4K monitor gets ruined every time I start the game, I have to restart my pc to fix the problem. The games are impossible to play, does anyone have an idea why this could occur?
is your pc good enough to handle 4K ?
yeah, I was playing battlefield 1 and 5 on there before
I had that battlefield 5 problem a while now, uninstalled the game and installed it again 2weeks ago to find out that it's still having the same problem
so then i install battlefield 1, i play it for 2 weeks and now it also has that problem
im not a big expert on this sorry , someone else will probably reply in a while
i'd send a picture of my screen when it happens but i dont know how
you can press the PRT SC key
but i cant post a picture here i believe
and it stays on my monitor untill I restart my pc, it truly only happens in battlefield
alright! well thanks anyways ICE 🙂
np
@wraith valley if it only happens in bfv, then try repair it or reinstall it
it happens on bf5 and bf1, and I did repair and reinstall mutliple times 😢

Is it possible to view the game on a different monitor
if i play the game on my 1920 x 1080 monitor it does seem to work
Try changing the monitor resolution to 1080p in nvidia control panel and windows settings and try
If it works then go to settings and set the game to windowed mode, save and exit and then change the nvidia control panel settings back to 4k, and launch the game, this will be in windowed mode now and id imagine it would be fine
Then you can go to in game settings and try setting it to 4k in game and fullscreen
laright, i'm going to try that! thanks a lot 😄
ASUS confirmed the RTX 3060 12GB and RTX 3080Ti 20GB
RTX 3060 having more VRAM than the 3080 is hilarious
Also a punch in the gut for 3070 and 3080 owners tbh
doesnt ram quality matter in the equation though
means nothing
ost likely you wont use half of the 3060 Vram knowing that gpu will be made to play at 1080/1440p
3080ti is design'd for 1440p and 4k
meanwhile the 3080 is ideal for a 1440p 144hz setup
my 1070 had 8gb vram never used more then 6gb unless it was for rendering
It’s slightly annoying but that’s about it
3080 ti is designed for 4k
and can do 144hz at that resolution
3060 is probably gonna be for 1440p
I mean we dont really have much data on it thats why Iam throwing it in the air
@proud trellis Delete your BFV settings folder and try it again
i meant to start everything on 'local computer' as freshly installed, and do not use cloud sync
hello, i have an ASUS TUF B450M plus mother board and PNY XLR8 RGB ram. i was playing earlier and both the rgb lights just went off
still off right now
what does this mean
right cool
but before that i didnt have aura sync
it was weird turning off on its own
what was the reason for it?
new asus software installed?
i was playing bfv when it turned off
or upgraded to another version, dont really know
also i have 6 fans right now. on full load one of my fans makes a loud noise
the top exhaust
can you control the speed of it via BIOS?
did you install it to the right way?
thats what i'm thinking. maybe it has something against on it
but doesnt make sound right now since i'm on idle
only using discord and facebook
Please do a check
what possibly is this?
Vary
Fan installed in the wrong way.
Fan got blockage or faulty or fan speed is too high
It can be anything
Since I don’t have too much info about it
CES 2021 Coming :)))
GDC is better in my opinion, maybe dice would have been there showing of their new tech. Sadly it's so damn late in the year anyways. Probably already seen teaser and gameplay perhaps of the next game. If they follow the releases they done the past 10 years we will get teaser/trailer in may ish and release october ish if its a new game next year. Still anyways interesting to see new tech in game engines.
did you build your own pc or overclock anything?
I built it on my own and no oc were done
it could be the thermal paste
Anyways I have another question.
We dont have our own internet right now but I am connected to my relatives wifi. I am just tethering my phone to the pc to share the internet. How can I improve my internet with this. I have 160 ping playing BFV
Using 4G and plug in your phone to your computer with USB cable. Nothing you can do about it apart from these
Unless you wanna change your DNS as well
2022 gonna be real interesting
RTX 3090 has 82 SM (streaming multiprocessors)
RTX "4090?" looking to have 144 SM
Also nvidia may follow AMD's 'Infinity Cache' design found on RDNA2 for next gen
welp, gotta rma my psu
RTX 3080 killed it?
nah, it has a bad fan/coil whine that i probably didnt notice before, i replaced my fans and they are stupid quiet so now i notice my psu making a noise
ive had it for something like 5 years though
Wouldn't worry a lot about it if it's already gone 5 years without failure
I've been using a cheap no-name brand PSU for 7 years that ain't even bronze rated
its functional, just extremely annoying
Put a pillow over it
that light at the back looks nice tbf
thinking about getting a small lamp for my desk

what are those vertical monitors for
anyone know how to fix ping without cable parents wont let me connect the cable
hard to say
best you can do is getting closer to the router
or getting the router closer to you
tbh mate ive came to the conclusion ima just move out and get my own wifi
wish that were me
why man
cause i cant afford to move
isnt there a way to make your router prioritize certain devices?
If you have a Linksys router, yes.
Idk about any other routers, but I'm sure they have that feature.
i just have a job with good pay kinda lucky
legit play eu server with 100ping
I remember there being some kind of way through MAC address of a device
Basically making a MAC address a priority one
Depends on router
You should check the manual
If you still have one
Or search up a manual for your model online
Because it depends on the router
Rocket Lake-S (Intel 11th gen) delayed a month
So the new Intel CPUs are gonna launch like 3 months after the new 500 series motherboards

NVIDIA ADA LoveLace GPU gets first rumored specs: Absolute monster at 18,432 CUDA Cores and over 60 TFLOPs of graphical performance
Thing is.... Probably won't be a GeForce card
LoveLace is gonna have a very wide architecture, aiming to double rasterization performance of Ampere
Whole new caching system as well
all i care about is price to performance
^
like ive said, they could power the next gen gpu with the power of pixie dust, i dont care how its done, i just want price to performance
ill complain once i have problems with that amount of vram
anything else is complaining out of comparison/principle, which imo are weak reasons to complain
dont be jealous that another color has a glorious 16 gb to use...which, half might get allocated right now....but its there damnit!
i mean, its nice its there, that large vram pool amd usually gives out makes cards last longer like the 570/580
1080 to 2080 didnt see a vram bump, 2080 to 3080 did though

damn thats a deal
Should I still turn on future frame rendering on my 1650super?
I currently get 90 avg fps without it
All low setting
i think the 1650s is quite weak tbh
So should I turn it on?
All mutiplayer games I play are on low setting (except for texture quality)
Aight. I'll turn it on then
i switched everything on low
if you want faster reaction time, please switch that off
if you reckon ffr is harming your reaction time, switch that off
I play on 160 ping anyway
ISP just went outside our home again. They opened the whatever box that was
I asked if they already turned it on and they said yes. But since it's holidays we cant get the internet yet
Probably after new year they said
good luck then
f
just out of curiosity, how big is the difference betwenn 144 and 240hz?
as far as i have found its not nearly as big of a difference from going to 144 from 60, but theres a difference still
if you have a 240hz can you go back to 144?
because with a 144 I could never go back to 60
that seems like a personal dilemma
from my experience, HUGE
Its like comparing
Room temp water and cold water
im sure the difference is appreciated more in visual fluency rather than in response time, which cant be objectively measured for all people the same
itd depend on how the user’s brain accomodates to it
also you dont need a higher refresh rate monitor to reduce response time, you only need to increase your game’s frame rate for that. Wether those frames are displayed by your monitor or not is irrelevant
you get a high refresh rate monitor only if you want visual fluency, not better response time
idk, even pros say 144 to 240 isnt a huge difference
and you get 240 for both gains
i couldnt tell because i never had a 240hz monitor but i am almost sure that if you use one of those for years and then you go back to a 144hz one you would notice the difference
they are built for a reason
well yea, you would notice a difference, ive not said otherwise, but is that difference major? highly doubt it if pros even say its not
normies cant tell the difference between 30 and 60 until they get used to 60 after a long time
pretty sure anyone who plays games even casually and knows the concept of fps can tell the difference between 30 and 60
if the difference is major or not id say it would depend on the use they give to it but idk
yeah nah i know many people that play videogames and know about fps because i explained and they still cant tell the difference
pro fps players are saying its not major, idk what is a more ideal scenario for a difference to occur
me neither
Then they are probably blind and should check their eyes.
they are normies
the capability to notice different frame rates is tied to the reflexes of the user
visual reflexes
in order to be able to tell 30 and 60 apart you need to train your vision in a way that surpasses most people’s visual reflexes and perception, like experiencing frame stutters from 30 to 60 for a long time and constantly, while also being used to see 60fps etc. You cant directly translate fps to real life vision because it’s actually a matter of how much attention somebody can pay to what they are seeing. Probably a racer can tell 30 and 60 apart without needing to play videogames because their vision is already trained
a normie that plays ps3 and ps4 videogames from time to time or age of empires 2 wont normally complain about frame rate
they wont even complain about input lag either
when bf3 came out it had literally almost 1 full second of input lag on the ps3 so i didnt play it till they improved it after almost a year, but before that, a normie friend of mine that played videogames sometimes too, asked me why i dont play it so i launched the game and gave him the controller and told him “you see this input lag? its unplayable” and he literally never noticed it and said it was only an excuse of mine
i am guessing that you all probably only interact with hardcore pc enthusiasts when it comes to videogames so you are not used to see how oblivious most people actually are about this
So why did new consoles move to over 60 fps? Both consoles boast higher then 60 fps gaming
Pc has had the premium that console can now afford to move into relatively fairly priced. So if it doesnt matter why do it?
We are also in a generation where tv come with true over 60hz refresh. Its just a more common thing.
consoles need to last approximately 7 years in the market while being able to run any games at a playable degree. It's not uncommon for games to run better in the early years of the console. If the ps5 ran everything at 30fps now, it will be a lot harder to run any game 5 years in the future. It's an extra power that will be needed in the future. But of course, some people that play on consoles are also aware of the frame rates and can tell 30 and 60 apart. I never said that all of console users are oblivious about this, but most surely are, most "pc" users also are absolutely oblivious about it, remember that most of "pc gamers" in the world are on non-gaming laptops, not on actual gaming pcs. Most people in general are oblivious about frame rate differences, in both types of platforms.
if you really believe anybody that uses to play a videogame every other day can tell 30fps and 60fps apart you couldn't be more wrong is all im saying
it doesnt matter if the game they play runs at 60fps or 30
I mean you can go back to the battlefield forums and see bf4 on the ps3 at 20-30 fps vs the ps4 60 fps was a huge life event. Even destiny was another big game. People noticed, maybe you didnt but plenty do. The Even demon souls is huge right now cause it was 30 fps and now its 60 on the new console
Same games just more fps
it seems your are working under the technicality that "gamers" are also including people like mobile gamers
it was a loud but vast minority of people that were hyped about it
sure, under that extremely broad label there are a vast majority of people that dont even comprehend what fps is
it's the same as saying most feminists are anti men because of the loud minority that say that having a penis is bad
im talking more of the "i buy cod/fifa" casual crowd
I dont think that correlates at all
We are talking about fps raw fact information produced infront of you.
i was just playing half life alyx. and my gpu usage was 75%, but my temperature was high for that usage and my power % was peaking at like 119%. even tho my power limit is at 100. basically my gpu is going over its power limit and is getting hot because of it
the fact is, 30 to 60 fps is painfully obvious, even if someone just describes it as "smoother", near anyone can tell a difference even if they dont know how to explain it or know why
i really think you are exaggerating it when you say "anyone"
im really not
i insist that most people are more oblivious than you think
if they cant tell id borderline worry about their vision
@supple bane Its power boost, what are your temps
75c
they dont need to know what fps means, why theres a difference between 30 or 60 hz or anything like that, one is clearly smoother than the other
What card?
one is objectively smoother than the other yes, but still not a thing most people can tell
hell, the standard for monitor refresh rate has been 60 for a long time
You sound ok to me. Temps are fine and the card boosts because of it. The card wont start truly throttling till 84c? iirc The card is doing what its supposed to
again, if people cant tell 30 vs 60 fps side by side, im concerned for them
im not worried, i just dont understand why its boosting like that
ive never seen it do that before
Cause the demand is there, the card has the power to do so and the thermal head room. its normal. Might change due to the game but yeah you're good
thats like 213w lol
tdp is 175w, thats a really aggressive boost table if it is the case
the problem here is that you dont seem to understand that it has nothing to do with vision
Turing always spiked. Thats 175 watt card for fe that normally ran at about 190 watts on most aib cards, then your temps seem fine so i can definitely see why it would draw the extra 30 watts because it can
thats weird, if they close they eyes they cant see anything... so it clearly has to do with vision
maybe not 100% has to do with vision, but i didnt claim that, while you just said it has 0% to do with it
what i mean is that it has nothing to do with eyes health
it's a reflex thing, more directly related to the brain, not the eyes
a perfectly healthy eye can see no difference if the brain has no idea what is happening
you can also say really bad eye sight/health doesnt give the brain a good enough image for the brain to have any idea what is happening
I mean your notion of fps and what your brain can respond too are quite different. Your eyes see 30-60fps to optical nerve and the brain will process it to an image. While movies are 24hz and we see 24 flickers in a second watching a movie the average human brain can react to 80-90 flickers of light a second. Even though your eyes can only see 60fps you brain can do more. Thats why with more fps and hz its less flicker and more of a constant stream of data. Its actually easier on your eyes and brain this way.
Then you have to think of how data is processed. Your eyes might not receive data on a screen flicker whether it be perfect timing or gods grace you missed your flick, what ever the case is. More data consistently is more reliable incase we have a "dropped" frame flicker etc. The brain will process it correctly cause well the brain is amazing and iu can give you hundreds of articles i wrote my med papers on and you can spend a couple hundred hours reading them
articles i read to write my paper*
Your brain can actually become more tired due to it having to pick up lost information. So if more information is provided it lets our brain process what we see easier. Then we become accustomed to putting it towards motor skill. Which is why we get used to what we use and again pc has had the upper hand for a long time. Doesnt mean people cant see or perform better for every human out there, its always to the individual but your brain can process 90hz of flickering light. Then becoming adrenalized or normalized during gaming or something you can obviously train yourself to use more data. Just like anything practice makes perfect and it works for your brain too.
Flicker related image updating vs seeing things in real life move are different. Monitors and tv are not real life and the way we interact with their hz are different then how we react to real life data. Im not normally into gun fights and huge explosions irl but thats just me. We focus pretty hard on games vs staring into some trees or seeing cars drive past us irl
wow
Can we pls get a TL:DR version
oh and not to mention blue light is a stimulator and we get better results starring at something with blue light vs a over head light flicker at 90hz
but those are all variables
Its commonly thought that when people in real life become adrenalized or scared and that hollywood "slow down slow motion" stuff is people not used to that amount of stimuli and its actually that things seem smoother then normal and crisper because your brain has all these hormones to put it into overdrive. Its not slowing down its just that much more information a second that youre used to that it seems that way. You can train many many things about your brain. Gaming happens to be one of them
144hz to 240hz is a huge difference
i mean from what ive felt
was a big difference for me
but there is someone out there that can notice it. its why its a product. I agree its almost unnoticeable for me but I also don't use 240hz as a part of my gaming life so when I test a buddies 240hz monitor I don't feel it as much as him going back to 144hz. ypu become accustomed to it. Its all personal
Damn that 1500 watt psu is amazing
might get that new alienware AW2720HF for the ips panel
and give my old alienware monitor to my friend
You're a good friend. I gave my friend a gpu for Christmas and he just found out his monitor was on 60hz. He said he couldn't feel the upgrade when he put the new gpu in

is i5 2400 enough ?
if youre gonna upgrade your cpu, in your case I'd go ryzen 3 3100 for budget
and ryzen 5 3600 if you have the money and then upgrade your gpu
the i5 2400 is pretty outdated
wait what my cpu is better than a r7 2700?!
what is your cpu?
1080p performance
with what gpu?
R7 2700 will have smoother frametimes than a i3-8100 especially in a lot of new games
game list
I gor it paired with a gtx 1060 rn
its only .1% better
i3-10100 made any 4-core i7 irrelevant
they arent "trying"
still better to get 8 threads tho
i3-10100 has 8 threads
yeah
old cpus are rare and will likely slot into old builds, thats the value
still not the best budget option
you cant just look at cpu to cpu price to performance
ryzen 7 1600 af very good budget option
well, you shouldnt get an i9 10900k if your main games are valorant, minecraft amd csgo
if you know what I mean
thats not what im talking about
and 1600 is not a good budget option anymore, it was only recommended when it was sub 100 bucks
1600 af
really?
yes, when the 1600af launched i think it was 90 bucks, but it performed like a weak 2600, so it was a big deal
i7 is fine for most
i3 10100 is comparable to a r3 3100 and if I remeber correctly the r3 3100 is cheaper
depends which one
i7 is fine for most since its really an overkill cpu for a lot of things
at least 10th gen i7
i7 laptop is much worse than desktop
hell, even 4c8t i7 are good for most
I7 8655u is an interesting cpu
The demo computers always boost to 4.1ghz at anytime
4c/8t is usually better than 6c/6t for games that take advantage of multithreading like Cyberpunk and RDR2
Quite keen to see if intel going for big.LITTLE design
They have got an i5 5 cores CPU already
i5-L16G7
There's already confirmation that Intel's Alder-Lake-S (12th gen) will feature CPUs where not all cores will feature hyperthreading
There's a 16-core/24-thread CPU
I think I saw the rumours ages ago, not many people will look at intel’s new processors these days
LGA1700 socket and Alder Lake will launch about 6-9 months after Rocket Lake
AMD is in big trouble if they wait too long to launch Zen4
Would be wondering what they can come up with after a long journey of 14nm
New architectures
outside of power consumption, im fairly impressed they have made 14nm this competitive
Isn’t that like 250w or something
10700k is 120?
Can’t remember what is the wattage for the flag ship one
ahh, no idea
Coz intel has rated their processors as something like 65w for the i5 125w for i7 and i9. I felt like TDP as in intel’s standard can be meaningless
10600K, 10700K and 10900K have 125W TDP with 225W PL2
Even tho I've seen these CPUs draw over 270 watts
Intel's 12th gen (Alder Lake) is gonna launch in the second half of 2021, whereas the upcoming 11th gen (Rocket Lake) is gonna launch in March 2021.
Alder Lake is on the new LGA1700 socket, with DDR5 and PCIe 5.0
Will be much faster than Rocket Lake at around ~30% higher single-threaded performance
Only issue is that DDR5 will be way more expensive than DDR4 when it comes out next year
I've heard a 16GB module of 5000 MHz DDR5 costs over $300
8GB module over $150
IIRC there's already some compliant DDR5 available but each module costs over $1000
think DDR5 RAM is only experimental and costy, so till its a thing DDR4 will do fine
so theyre going to invalidate their own new cpu with in a couple months
Yep remember how quickly the 8700K came out after the 7700K
Was like 8-9 months apart
16GB DDR4 now costs ~$70
16GB DDR5 when Alder Lake comes out will be around $300
Alder Lake will be for enthusiasts imo
Won't be until 2023 when DDR5 prices are reasonable
Because mobile phones are going to make the jump to DDR5 as well, which means overwhelming demand for it
I have a 8700k, the last good intel CPU till ryzen 2nd gen appeared onwards
Same
I'll probably upgrade with next gen ryzen
Or I'll just keep on playing with my current PC for another few years until it's just crap
and get a whole new build
I'll upgrade fully to a new rig after I start a job and DDR5 is out
till then Iam fine with this one
I'm waiting until a year or two after DDR5 comes out tbh
Gonna wait for when new manufacturing matures
Iam fine with my PC, just gonna upgrade the GPU and maybe get more ram to work with it
else for gaming etc pretty fine even for 3-4 years
I'm holding onto a R5 1600AF until about 2022/2023

Best value CPU I ever got for $85 new lol
Although I've seen a R5 2600X for $80 at MicroCenter
Micro center is cheating.
Move near one then
Tbh if I lived by one I'd be wasting a lot if money
I remember when I got a 4690K from there for $50 off and additional $20 off for also getting motherboard, which was already also $20 off
I bought all the parts for that rig there, saved nearly $200 in total
everytime I restart my pc, my monitor goes back from 144hz to 72 hz and it gets quite annoying to change it everytime
does anyone have a fix please?
Hello guys, Why is my gpu performing very badly not as before even worst then benchmarks by more then a half sometimes?
Hello, can you recommend a site where I will buy Battlefield 1
@merry dust i would only recommend buying it from the offical EA store, origin
thanks
pinging a website on a VM, 4 packets received, tries to access it nothing happens... timed_out.. firewall logs show no packets received

hello
what are some good gaming headset
up to 100 usd
or 100 euros
thats a very board question
Sennheiser Game One^/PC373D^/PC37X^ > Sennheiser Game Zero^> Cooler Master MH752/751 (Takstar Pro 82 drivers) > HyperX Cloud II/Cloud I/Cloud Core* (Takstar Pro 80 drivers)>Koss Porta Pro
I think you can OC it through XMP
how would compare hyper x cloud(i think cloud I) vs runmus registered k3 https://www.amazon.com/RUNMUS-Headphones-Canceling-Compatible-Dreamcast/dp/B07XR6SKB6 vs https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Headset-Nnintedo-KHX-H3CL-WR/dp/B00JJNQG98
ive never heard of runmus at all, ive had the first hyper x clouds and im a slight audiophile and i liked the hyper x for closed backs
is it required that you have a headset? because id always recommend a stand alone mic with headphones
generally better quality on both ends. its just less convenient
hm,i am confused,i could choose between beexceleng gm1 and renmus k3,low budged that are said to have a high quality,or a higher prices hyper x cloud that is recognized for its quality
On 1080p with high settings, you think I can run ~100 FPS on BFV?
I assume it’ll do even better on the older ones
what makes you think we can know the answer to that without you telling us your pc specs
specs
yes you can run bf5 on 100fps with those specs
in 1080p
on medium settings
approx
maybe not always 100
more like 85-100 id say
laptop versions of rtx2060 perform similarly to a gtx1660super
And on BF1?
im not sure, i'd bet it'd be pretty similar since the engine is almost the same, but I don't want to be wrong so
idk
bf5 on medium settings on 1080p runs at around 90fps on my pc and i have an i5 8400 with an rx590
and your laptop is faster than my pc so i'd bet youd be able to reach 100fps on both games
however both your cpu and gpu wont perform the same as their desktop versions, they are a little bit slower as i mentioned above, but still faster than my pc i think
so remember that when you see benchmark tests
on my desktop (i7-9700k, rtx 2060) I rarely see dips under 100fps
thats normal
Desktop != mobile
i dont have bf5

Ayyyoo guys. So I noticed there’s a battlefield sale on steam. I’m working with a (kinda potato) Lenovo flex 14 amd laptop, AMD Ryzen 7 3700U Processor, 8gb ram, 80gb is ssd space left etc. I was wondering which battlefield I should pick up because I loved playing BF1 on the ps4 a few years ago. I was kinda thinking either bf3 or bf4? Probably bf4? But I don’t know. Any advise to help me decide would be great Thanks!
I don't like 2 if you want to buy 2
Ah ok cool I’ll stay away from that one then thx!
I was kinda thinking bf3, but then looking at steam charts ( https://steamcharts.com/search/?q=Battlefield ) and comparing the online player count to bf4, it makes me wanna get bf4 but idk. I think bf4 would be the most recent one that my laptop can handle
4 I already have it 3 I don't know if I buy it. I really like how it looks
@prime jasper steam player charts aren't very helpful as they only show peeps playing on steam, when the vast majority of people have it on Origin
Ohhhh ok good to know
So what’s the player count looking like for bf3? And is that a better choice than bf4?
Defs more people on 4 because it's newer
Faxx ok tbh I’ll prolly cop 4
@prime jasper with 3700U integrated graphics I'd play with low/medium settings on BF4
Yoo ok sweet that’s good to know actually
I’m glad I can at least run it then. I’m fairly used to doing medium/low settings
Still looks decent enough/playable?
Does your laptop have integrated graphics or does it use a seperate GPU chip
Also having dual channel RAM with integrated Vega graphics helps quite a bit
Oh man I don’t even know what that is tbh haha
Lenovo Flex 14 AMD laptop from 2018 I believe? is what I got.
Also like what’s a good amount of ssd space to still have on ur computer? Because after this I’ll have around 50gb left. Just worried about stuff slowing down from lack of space etc
Dual channel RAM means two RAM sticks
Ohh. I’d think it doesn’t have that
Having two sticks of 4GB is better than one stick of 8GB
Ahhh I see. I wouldn’t know tbh dang
But if you one stick of 8GB, you should be able to put another 8GB if laptop has two RAM slots
I mean it’s like a thin 2in1 laptop that flips into a tablet and stuff. I don’t think there’s much opportunity for spec customization and stuff but idk
Good to know tho thanks sir
LMAO
AMD patent on next generation RDNA3
GPU chiplets confirmed
Pretty much confirms that APUs will have GPU chiplets alongside CPU chiplets
We're definitely gonna see high performance on integrated graphics for CPUs by end of this year or next
Oh man all that fancy computer talk hurts my brain lmao. Idek how to read those sentences
Yeooooooo so I ended up getting bf4 but to my surprise it was 60gb!! Lmaoo steam says 30gb damn. DLC I guess
Lol
RTX 3060 to match/beat the RTX 2070 Super
RTX 3050 Ti to match/beat the RTX 2060 Super
RTX 3050 to match/beat GTX 1660 Super/Ti
Welp- I’m returning this game oh god
Literally just got spawned killed every match I joined lmfao. Don’t wanna go above the 3 hour point otherwise I can’t return on steam so.
i mean...its a 7+ year old game at this point...youll be facing people with 100s if not thousand + hours into it lol
Thing that wont match is the stock
Haha Yaa fair enough
pretty sure its a 2 hour limit
Hİ
Got it refunded 👍🏽
Bf3 might be pretty beginner friendly
yeah if you like walking around with blue tinted glasses
An SM is more analogous a CPU core than a "CUDA core" is. On GTX 1000 (Pascal) each SM contained 64 CUDA cores, and each CUDA core was a FP32 core. On RTX 2000 (Turing) each SM contained 64 CUDA cores, and each CUDA core was considered 1FP32 core + 1INT32 core. Now on RTX 3000 (Ampere) it moved back to executing 32 FP32 operations per SM subcore per clock. What NVIDIA has done is more accurately described as “undoing the 1/2 FP32 rate.” As for performance, each Ampere 'CUDA core' will be substantially less performant than in Turing because the other structures in the SM have not been doubled. So Ampere has more CUDA cores in the same way that Bulldozer had "8 cores".
Ampere 'CUDA core' is ~0.6x the performance of a Turing 'CUDA core'
Are you saying the new generation lost 0.4 performance?
RIP extension ribbon cable. DOA. Time to blame the shipping company
You know ribbon cables for display?
Either mobile display under the hood or a monitor display
It relies on an extension able to extend the range
Anyway it’s broken
Coz those cables are really fragile. The company which shipped the external display have bent the cable. Now it won’t work
Whats...frag..ile? is that some Italian word
_yeah just throw it in the little package folder and bend it out the door _
Fragile means ‘easy to break’, an English word to describe glass are easy to break so the shipping companies would usually put a ‘fragile’ label with the glass icon on it to represent to be careful in order to handle parcel at all time

DO NOT BEND Bends it anyway because fuck your degree
Well it works without the extension able anyway
like the opening scene to ace ventura
Will show pictures when I get up
Anyway it’s a little 40 USD 7” IPS display with 1024x600 res
Usually people will stick the display inside the desktop glass side panel and fire up AIDA64 to monitor the computer parts usage. It works really well without the need to install RGB lighting. This little display can do most of the job a standard PC monitor display can do. Still, it works with any PC (including RPI or Linux servers) without a monitor connected. I should say this thing is portable and can be carry with you if you got a pc without display. Quite useful for setting up a PC
just get two 8gb
Hey guys do you think that my laptop would handle BF1?
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100U CPU @ 2.40GHz
Intel(R) HD Graphics 620
12GB RAM
Eeh on low settings 30 fps could handle it
I think you meant low settings 3fps
I mean its a laptop cpu
30fps is unplayable anyway
True but its still playable
Not really if its an fps game
Ehh it is
@prime jasper said to post here who got a pic & will post it for me, just wondering i got static lines coming up when gaming under any load on a power colour RX 5700 XT is it a sign of a bad card, never had a GPU die so all new to me on that front
Ty CB
is that a broken GPU
Seems like it
sure it isn't just the monitor/tv?
friend of mine had this a few weeks ago and it died like an hour later
On BF42 GPU is fine looks like another RMA and hopefully 3rd time a charm with these AMD cards
Iirc artifacts could be from a dying gpu or a bad overclock.
Not OC the card to much hassle when new, ty for help i go back to OCUK where I brought it from and hopefully I can buy a cheap card till either fixed or, worse case buy a RX 6k to replace
Ahh 5000 series amd?
@modern gull no, the new CUDA cores on Ampere are half cores compared to previous generations
ah i see. maybe they sacrifice for something else or?
2x ALU per SM is my understanding. So divide by half would give you traditional CUDA core count you'd have expected.
RTX 3090 has 10,496 CUDA ÷ 2 = 5248
RTX 3080 has 8704 CUDA ÷ 2 = 4352
RTX 3070 has 5888 CUDA ÷ 2 = 2944
Ye 57k
Damn when the pandemic over I hope I can buy a rtx 3060 without dealing with scalpers
You likely will
The pandemic will realistically end in late 2021 to early 2022
It’s gonna take a while for us Americans to take the damn vaccine
And right now I’m not even eligible so I have to wait
hey I got a question about 3060 and the 3060 ti
is there any benchmarks that compare these two
i dont think they are out yet
is there such things as a CPU driver update ?
if there is then that is surly my issue
uuuuh good question, i dont think ive ever bothered to do that
there isnt a cpu driver no
oh for fuck sake
3060 ti is out, 3060 is not
AMD patent leaked - RDNA3 multi-chip architecture, APUs with multiple GPU chiplets
Radeon is about to go berserk
Finally we can have apu's with powerful gpu's unlike intel
Expect to see Ryzen APUs with 2-3 GPU chiplets that have 16-20 compute units each
GPU chiplets on RDNA3 work similar to how CPU chiplets work in Ryzen
We could see 4K gaming on APUs next year

Leaked? Patents are public information.
Home page of the United States Patent and Trademark Office's main web site.
But the problem is the apu's could be more expensivew
ye but leak makes it seem like its top sekret infos that someone definitely not named bisa tu released to the plebs
Yeah

If laptops come with integrated gpu's then on ebay there should be mobile verisons of rtx 2060s not scalped
Hi, how do you set dual audio outputs for discord and other stuff? Like when I game, the game audio was using my laptop's speakers as output and my discord voice chat would be audible through my headphones. I can't set it to work on my new lapotp.
It's an Acer Predator Helios 300 and the audio drivers are from Realtek.
Dual audio outputs seems more like discord is set correctly but the whole os is not
on windows click on this icon in your taskbar
then press the up arrow afterwards
and choose the device your looking for
yeah that's the problem. In this laptop it only shows the default device doesn't let me choose between headphones and speakers :/
Is the headphones plugged in 3.5mm or bluetooth?
In my previous one, I had uninstalled the manufacturer drivers and was using the Microsoft default High Definition drivers. There was some other problem that I was trying to fix and this had happened accidentally only
I tried to do the same thing with this one as well
but after one or two days, the OS automatically rolled back to the previous drivers I guess
3.5mm
Install the manufacturers drivers
ya dude I'm using the Realtek drivers only now. They're the ones the laptop came with. When I had uninstalled them, then everything was working fine. But as I said, they automatically rolled back to the default drivers aka Realtek, when I switched to the other one after one or two days.
