Big oof
7900XTX beating 5080 in Doom with ray-tracing is crazy
Ray-tracing is forced in the game and is why the game is so demanding, plus unoptimized
it's not unoptimised
how is 100+ FPS with forced RT on a bad architecture bad optimisation lol
btw
this isn't the full RT so bare that in mind
once the path tracing update comes out these results will flip on their head
9070XT will maintain decent results with path-tracing but those RDNA3 results will definitely drop dramatically
9070xt should maintain roughly where it is most likely will drop a few frames to the 4080s
xtx will have a 30-40% penalty more or less

IJ uses far more than doom generally, it'll drop probably but it shouldnt be as severe as that
RDNA4 RT is actually pretty good relatively speaking
wdym Nvidia technology lol
PT is not an NV feature RDNA is just ass with RT
yeah SHaRC is minimal in terms of "impact of performance differences"
there is one game that has demanding RT that is focused on Nvidia and that's black myth wukong, because they made a different branch entirely, doom isn't one of those
doom doesn't even RTX mega geometry, THAT is the single biggest thing that would boost RT performance
those are side points really, RDNA is just overall dog shit except for RDNA4 at accelerating RT
there is a 40-60% difference between RDNA3 and 4 in RT acceleration, that's how bad they were
the bvh is what caused RDNA RT to fall off a cliff
it doesn't help that MG exists which will retroactively boost RT performance for past NV cards but doesn't support RDNA at all either
then there's their software stack which is even more of a mess
true lmao
my BFV keeps crashing mid game helpppp
The new doom is amazingly well optimised
Even if I wish for more frames my CPU and GPU don't hit crazy temps in midst of their utilisations.
It helps that it's cold heree and that has a hand but still.
250W from my 5080.
Whens that?
Wait sorry the path tracing update i should have asked. What is it? Is it that big direct x like thing or is it something else?
it's a better form of raytracing
I assume that!
Oh i see
@pale quartz Ya i see. This is a new thing yeah?
Reckon a bunch of games could be updated with it?
no it's not new
shader execution reordering has existed for a few years now

Holy crap the TSMC plant is ridiculous
Just rode by it on the high speed rail.
Have a meeting in Taipei this morning, and drove by TSMC.
is it the largest manufacturer in Taiwan?
Hmmm. Not sure about that. I’d have to guess it is considering they produce 55% of the world’s silicon
There are other semiconductor plants here too.
Honestly speaking of BF Maps. Much of Taiwan’s landscape resembles Kaleidoscope map
Kaleidoscope is set in South Korea
Even in raytracing? I thought DXR was superior
But the way the landscape, and the buildings look here looks similar

why is COD so poorly optimized on Nvidia
ngl i saw the thumbnail for that earlier and thought "what a pointless comparison this is"
but by that graph hes using both version of the 5070
nooo thats impossible, amd msrp is lower!!
AMD and Nvidia have switched positions
(although i wonder are there cases where even the 12gb 5070 is beating the xt?)
since for some reason nvidia is more efficient with vram usage
here 9070 xt is cheaper than 5070 ti
743 usd for 5070 here, 790 usd for 9070 xt and 943 usd for 5070 ti
cheapest cards of each
9070XT prices are bad in USA, Canada and Southeast Asia, often the same price as 5070Ti or higher
another day of takmikill bragging about how his smol population EU country is riding good with gpu stock
in Germany the 9070XT is only like 20-50 euro more expensive than 5070 and in australia it's basically the same price while 5070Ti is like 200 more
how much would be too much to spend on a 70ti.. but getting it shipped in 2 days vs weeks?
totally asking for a friend i swear

cod has always had RDNA perform better lol
despite being partnered with Nvidia in a couple games

is COD's engine still based on the old id tech engine?
would it cost money to move to a different (newer) engine? theres your answer
ask yourself, what's powering the current consoles that make up an overwhelming majority of the cod playerbase?

ID Tech 3 to be more specific. Same engine as Quake 3...
Sure it's been modified over the years, but that's the base of it.
Similar pricing here too. I think you guys should just accept you never thrived the second you broke off from us

RDNA4 is faster than Blackwell in IPC and core-to-core performance, all while using old gen GDDR6 memory
its not? faster in ipc
5070Ti has 70 Compute Units while 9070XT has only 64, and the 5070Ti is only 2% faster
yeah compute units dont mean anything in regards to that lol
RDNA4 uses much older VRAM too and still remains competitive
yeah but thats got nothing to do with ipc
Blackwell has more cuda cores, it must be faster!!!! /s

Basically the same thing as comparing compute units.
Blackwell is pretty disappointing tho. Even ada was to an extent (architecture wise for gamers). Ada was just miles faster that the previous gen, because of new process node, and dramatically higher power.
Lots of the software stuff and acceleration is great, so the last 2 gens haven't been all that bad, all things considered.
50 series only really brought MFG tho, which I don't care for at all
yeah
blackwell is nvidias (necessary) painful transition in the actual uarch itself, unfortunately that means bad stuff can happen
a lot of what its designed on will be relevant in 5 years, not today, see turing as an example
Eh. Turing brought Raytracing to a consumer level product. But Raytracing is still gimmicky 7 years later. Well technically, 30 years later (See Toy Story). Turing also brought DLSS though a year later and frankly that technology is the only real thing from Nvidia that has been pretty innovative tech. GPU prices have gotten out of hand with very little gains (rasterization) each generation with perhaps Ada being the exception.
In my honest opinion, the 1080 Ti is still one of Nvidia's best GPU's they've ever launched.

3.32 GHz
the fastest 9070XT has a boost spec of 3.1 GHz
Boost is meaningless
I have a 9070xt myself. I like it fairly decent, but sometimes I get a driver timeout (at least only on like, TF2) and that seems to be an issue with the driver atm
this is my biggest fear of getting an AMD card. they all say driver issues are a thing of the past but i cant trust such statements
am i correct there are 2 rtx 5060ti 16gb variants? one with x8 and one with x16 pcie lanes?
or are the specifications wrongly stated

think to be fair my issue is im cpu bottlenecked pretty hard lmao. Gotta get a new motherboard and cpu soon
Driver issues is a thing for all vendors
Its far better for AMD atm than it was around first RDNA
Their x3d CPUs are so freaking efficient it's almost black magic
I'm shocked by my 5700x3d everytime when see the temps and power consumption

im still looking for reasons as to why upgrade my 1080 💀
even tho im also on that 7800x3d bandwagon
for competitive games its still plenty, even high refresh rate
350 ow2, >400 cs2, >350 valorant
you will be/already are CPU bottlenecked depending on the GPU with that
they are both limited to x8, in reality though it makes no difference because the GPU isn't that powerful to begin with

For a 27" yeah it is. Considering you can get the 32" Alienware OLED 4K routinely on sale for $800
maybe cheaper. haven't looked in a bit
I bought my Samsung 49" G9 OLED, 240 hz for $1100
LG looks to be insanely proud of that....
OLED, it's worth it
Wtf
Oh for sure it is. But that price is a bit overpriced. But as far as OLED, I will never go back to LCD again. Ever.
Yeah was checking up upgrade mine but the best option here was like 1200 € (for better one than my current)
I love my OLED's. My Samsung 77" S90D, Samsung G9 49" OLED, and even my Asus G14 has a 2880x1800 OLED
I have 2x Alienware 34" OLED's that I'm trying to get rid of since I bought the Samsung
I'll throw them on Marketplace I guess when I get home from Taiwan
1800p on a 14" screen is pointless, creates extra unnecessary load on the GPU lol
maybe for some form of content creation would that resolution be somewhat useful
Not to mention I can't see squat....Lmao. But these little Zephyrus Laptops are pretty nice though. I'm impressed with the speakers more than anything. Usually laptop speakers are pointless and throwaway
Definitely way better notebooks obviously. This is a Ryzen 9 8945, 4060, 16 GB RAM, and a 2TB Samsung 990 (I added that) for $1200. You can't beat that deal.

Obviously with DLSS
DOOM Dark Ages had to turn down though
Forced Raytracing....
That's my sole complaint with DOOM
For some reason ID Software embedded it with ID Tech 8
Dark Ages has minimal performance impact regardless of which graphics settings you play on because the RT is so demanding

Alright, time to Uber Eats something and play the "Can I read Mandarin game"

But can it run crisis?
Without ray tracing yes, both 20 fps.
The Crysis remake is absolutely absurd. Even has a setting called "Can it run Crysis"
lol
They used 8K textures and turned off Render Distance. Full send, render the entire island.
Absolutely bonkers. Even my 4090 is like...Ummmm, can we not?
If I remember correctly, it is because the developers were planning for future technology to run the game XD
Genuinely only because they could
for the og crysis they kinda just missed with their prediction of where tech was going, not only was the game super demanding on the gpu but they also expected cpus to get better single core performance, which ofc wasn't the case
the remake yeah i'm pretty sure it was just for the meme lmao
Compared to Doom, which can run on a potato
Its amazing how they optimised idtech.
Idtech has consistently been an amazingly optimised engine.
Mega textures era it was not that good
Oh yeah the rage era
I remember even two GTX 7800's in SLI barely ran it.

That's absurd

that is true
I'd imagine because of the Huawei incident other chinese-based OEMs like Xiaomi are now accelerating development of their own in-house socs
Seems like it's pretty competitive. For a first gen that's very impressive
You can't just cut off China in the long run, it just forces them to get more creative and self-reliant

Nvidia didn't want reviewers to look at this product until launch - and it's clear there are problems with it. Put the RTX 5060 into a modern system supporting PCIe 4.0 or better and you can get performance that handily beats a PlayStation 5. However, this card is badly balanced - compute power is OK for the budget gamer but the lack of VRAM is ...
5060 and 5060Ti lose a lot of performance on PCIe 3.0 and 4.0
kinda ruins the point of a budget GPU lmao
As Bmac said, it's a meme setting. Saber went full send and said f**k it to draw distance. Render the entire island all at once. But the Cryengine when Crysis launched back in 2007 was also well ahead of its time. The GTX 7800 was the top dog GPU and even in SLI could barely run it then. Crysis has always been "Get Bent" meme game on bringing high end hardware to its knees.
Not necessarily poorly optimized. Just overly demanding for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Crysis 3 is still one of the prettiest games in existence in my opinion. And that game is 12 years old.
I dont know if this is a place for me to ask this but I recently tried getting back into battlefield 2042 and would place a few rounds but then I would get a BSOD and my whole pc restarts.
I have been trying to find out how to fix this problem but with not much luck so just asking for any ideas on a fix.

I do

Which one.
If it is a 13900k or a 14900k you will need to contact intel about a replacement.
Crtl alt del to check up on it.
i9- 10900k
Sounds like bad ram?
I dont know what your issue is.
Sometimes you can get a bad cpu but the 10900k shouldn't have ingrained problems.

Uhhh if the funny tech man appears he might have an idea on what's happening.
By the way not all hardware is manufactured equally.
Check event viewer, specifically the system logs
Could be faulty gameinput dll or duplicate which gives Windows a seizure
This is also solid advice that fixes most problems, I'd do this first
If it still persists after all that it could be a legit memory issue, if so I'd run memtest86 on it
A BSOD is usually caused by a driver issue. Check your drivers. It could be an error in the NVIDIA/AMD driver or another piece of software on your system causing problems with your hardware.
Going to give it a test run later and see what happens.
I did an update on my driver for nvidia earlier

basically a youtube short i saw this morning, about people on reddit making their own custom fuse boxes for each 12vhp cable
someone in the comments "this is why i wouldnt buy a 5070, i went 9070 instead"- guy responds with you did zero research otherwise youd have seen the 5070 doesnt draw nearly as much power
Its 250W card (the 5070), so nothing relating to the above will be an issue. The reason these cables are an issue on 4090/5090 is its a 600W MAX cable trying to draw 500 or 575W. If you have 1 or 2 power pins on either side of the cable (PSU or GPU side) not with perfect contact...you have all that extra power being pulled through the other connected cables. This is why they are melting.
The GPU is going to draw that 575W regardless of all cables having the right connection, and the sense pins are basically useless.
the shoddy pin length/looseness what ever you want to call it is a really bad situation
but nvidia putting all the power rails on the same spot, and expecting 600w to be fine also, seems a bit risky
5070 requires 50W more than 4070 while being only like 3-5% faster
a few 4070 models have single 8-pin
how much power does yours pull?
stock 4070 is rated 200W
think 220w is the highest ive seen so far, the final bits of doom only maxed at 209.98
Doom is crazy optimised.
Yesterday I had a problem related to Javelin, which is the protection against cheats, and I managed to solve it by doing some procedures, but now when I went to open an EA game, this problem came back and asked me to restart the PC
Is there someone I can talk to about BF Labs?
#1375428094361468991 which part of this is confusing?
Laughs in Maxwell.
yes exactly that picture
Love that the 5090 shoves 600 watts through the same connector...

7090 super ti pro will require a separate 1000 watt power supply. 24 pin.
and how many of the frames will be real?
10x MFG
Latency?
yes.
Will be fixed in DLSS 5. Don't worry

Time to finish DOOM Dark Ages. Other than silly forced ray tracing, not really sure the hate it's getting. Pretty solid game in my opinion. DOOM Eternal was more in your face and I like the weapons more. But man, playing Angry Captain America in Dark Ages is so satisfying.
denuvo 🤮
Which is funny because ID removed it in Eternal. And then we see how that turned out for the MP portion...
So why we need it for a SP only game this time
I need to go back to expedition 33
Was going to pick that up. I do like turn based combat. Unpopular opinion. Final Fantasy 13 is one of my favorite FF
I never played any FF 💀
gameplay is super fun, i didnt play on the hardest difficulty since im just trying to enjoy myself, but only 14 hrs to finish
Dark ages forgets a little what made doom 4 good but it's still a fun game.
DOOM 2016?
Yes. I just call it doom 4.
fair enouogh
Not even the 4th doom
!info
Technically DOOM 3 is DOOM 4 if you're talking about DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM 64, then DOOM 3

Sad when Proton runs games more efficiently and faster than Windows 11
god bless steam
Proton ftw
I wonder why
people have been shouting about OS overhead from the rooftops for ages
DWM input lag, background services, etc etc
red hat is trying to remake the windows service nightmare with systemd but that's besides the point
doom dark ages -220w
ac shadows-190w (havent optimized graphics for new card tbh)
roadcraft-253w is apparently the new max
apparently that game being cranked to all the graphics is a little demanding
2042 drew 350 W for me on a high medium mix so anything in the 200's is like holy shit optimised!
I mean that's not really whether if its optimized or not? You'll have less usage and wattage on gpu if youre cpu bound
MS really can't do much
. With how the company is structured and how legacy dependant windows is.. they just can't really respond to that.
Xbox OS would be great if they opened that up. Honestly think it's better for them to go down that route than try to make a windows 'handheld mode'. I mean alot of the steamOS features are there already like quick suspend and resume through the likes of quick resume
The fact that they at once had a feature where you could essentially have split windows for your games and an app on the launch xbox one proves how minimal and light the OS resources overhead is.
but do I trust them to make such a sensible decision instead of going "we can merge these teams and save all this money"? Nope
I mean systemd itself is fine right now. It provides plenty of useful utilities that just work right outside the box. Which is especially useful for laptops. Basic stuff like power management, brightness, volume, media keys, touchpad etc working outside the box is very nice over fiddling with finding the relevant packages for them for hours and troubleshooting
Now is it concerning where RH(IBM) might take it in the future based on their history? Yes
So it is good having alternatives lying around. I myself might go systemd-less and go for dinit maybe just for fun. I can shave 3 seconds off my boot time bro, so much bloat removed
in the process I'll basically need to spend a solid few days just to get basic functionality that systemd comes with working imagine all those mb of ram saved
i miss when you were falsely muted

You can unpack the Javelin AC .exe and toggle on Linux support.
Well, Proton/WINE support, but you probably understand that.
The dll can be modified as well.
Thats the unfortunate bit tbh. The layers upon layers of backwards compatibility that they have catered to keeping and comitting to keep maintained. Imagine the difference if that wasn't the case.... the latency and potential performance improvements on the table would probably be pretty good
no lol
javelin has no support for Linux whatsoever
I forgot steam os was linux.
the claim about proton support is bs it doesn't work at all through wine or proton
I feel dumb because I keep asking but then forgetting like fuck me i guess lol
No, that's why it's commonly recommended to dualboot both steamos and windows over having the former fully replace the latter
anyone else have EA app issue, i load it up and it keeps going back to home screen all the time, briefly see a message about connectivety. Tried everything online so far to fix..nothing works
No loss 😛
ah how fun now we have asrock frying processors on AM5 because they decided to make their own pbo values
AIBs need to be banned from changing anything out of spec
Been going on for a few months now
They have to fix their website and motherboard box to show the new ram and see if it’s compatible
no it's not to do with that
sorry, is anyone else having problems with battlefield 1 going online?
they were making PBO changes on AM5 boards which meant processors were frying after a few months and dying
cudimm doesn't work with zen 5 anyways it's not compatible, it just runs in bypass mode
Yay also my ram keeps on dying as well because I have no idea wich ram to use
why would you buy any old ram kit
The ram that they say are compatible don’t go beyond 6200
the only supported speeds on zen 4 and 5 is up to 6000MT/s, nothing higher is guaranteed
6200 isn't guaranteed
Hmm well my 6200 ram works just not my 7500
yeah.. as I said the IMC on Ryzen processors can only go up to 6000 lol for 1:1 ratios
7500 will work on intel platforms
That explains a lot
You can get 8000MT/s to work but you need a good mobo and win the cpu lottery

so PSA this isn't actually correct
the reason the battery life is longer is Lenovos default power budget for the legion on windows is awful, you do one change and it will be 6 hours on windows, exactly the same
lenovo always messing something up
PSA
︀︀
︀︀Windows "Bloat" isn't what you think it is. it does exist naturally, but is not the reason for poor performance or efficiency.
︀︀
︀︀Dave2D showed Legion GO S getting 3~ hours of battery life. And with a default setup, it's true.
︀︀
︀︀But it's also amazingly simple to get 6 hours
I have the original Legion with detachable controllers
performance issues seem to come from having only 16GB ram to share between system and iGPU
16 ain't a lot for that shared ye
in reality it's only really 8 if you're being nice for rendering stuff
isn't just lenovo, adjusted my battery power plan on my hp laptop and got another 1 and a half hours out of it
beyond advertised
linux is still worse though, 2 hours less. SteamOS and the like aren't inherently more efficient on anything you slap on it.
ye*, I meant almost any vendor just Lenovo was the one in the video by David
ah
the fact his default assumption was background and telemetry is the most lazy reasoning possible
windows occam's razor
I have 80 plus titanium and it caught fire, still works
there are multiple games where i've played them on windows and on proton on the same hardware (7900XTX/7800X3D) and gotten better performance in the latter
i never said better performance, i said better efficiency
different things, the efficiency between both is more or less the same
and besides this is APUs, not discrete, running proton w/ discrete is very different to that
true
I think supported speed is actually only 5600. But of course you can overclock. Anything over 6200-6400 yields minimal gains though and pointless.
CAS Latency > Frequency.

In typical 3D printing, layers are sliced horizontally (planar layers), which limits surface quality and structural performance, especially for curved or angled surfaces. Non-planar slicing breaks from this tradition by allowing layers to follow the surface geometry—improving strength, aesthetics, and efficiency.

Almost had a guy sell me an Astral 5090 at Guang Hua Plaza (same place Linus TT has his custom PC made) for 30,000 NTD, which is $1,000 USD. I kept asking him if that was the right price. He kept saying yes and I pulled out my card to buy before he finally realized his mistake.
Dang it. So close.

wait you can run more programs or chrome tabs if you have more RAM on your system?
🤯

1 chrome tab for ever gig of ram?
RTX PRO 6000 is 14% faster than 5090 by average in gaming
better than I expected tbh
Was always gonna be 10% faster at least (It has 10% more cores). But it also uses more power...Id guess it having more and higher capacity memory helps with memory copies and such. Which could accout for a few % in difference

Talking about the new battlefield game. What do you guys think will be the specifications for hardware. I know I will be able to run it but I have a 4070 and 7800x3d. But I want to know if I’ll be able to play at above 200 fps at what will be the “competitive” settings
In 2042 I get around 200-220 maybe 240 that’s with dlss at 2k
you should be fine tbh i'd be shocked if you couldn't get high frames on low
Yeah I ideally wanna get over 240 fps. I know that’s a stretch and a lot of people struggle to maintain 60 on low. But I’ve heard the new game could also be easier to run or also run the exact same. With the maps being smaller ect
I’ll definitely get high frames on low. It’s just that I ideally want atleast 200 and perfect I want 240 definitely which shouldn’t be to hard
Well they did release spec requirements for their testing
Full product at 4k with a 4070 im not sure.
If feel like a high 4k would get you a good consistent 90 at least.
💀 indeed
Will a 6950 XT work?
Also what does 240fps even look like? Like looking through a wormhole?
It’s smooth. People say you can’t see the difference between 144 and 240 but that’s completely wrong. I upgraded form 144hz to 240hz and it’s amazing. Whenever I go back to 144 it looks so choppy
I can feel difference between 144hz and 165hz
stay away from those GPUs. AMD has basically abandoned them, driver stability wise
6950XT is faster than a 3090
and on average about 6% above a 3090 Ti
Well. Depending on the GPU. Some were higher binned such as the Red Devil and Sapphire Trixx
And they outperformed 3090's pretty handily
Rasterization to be clear. Not so much in RT.
So to answer your question. Yes, the 6050 XT will be fine for the next Battlefield game. Unless EA suddenly ditches Frostbite for something else, you're fine.
And every new driver AMD releases has new stability issues and regressions for it.
Because all they care about is 7000/9000 series cards (the current and previous gens as always)
Just buy an intel gpu instead surely they’re stable and exist

😼
you'll take your 8gb vram and you'll be thankful >:(
We have hundreds in stock of pretty much every modern gpu

Whenever i launch battlefield 5 or 2042 my entire pc audio crashes and only comes back up if i restart the pc. Any ideas what could cause this? I already did a clean uninstall and i've not always had this issue that's what makes it so confusing. Just for about a little over a month.

ASRock has finally acknowledged that its boards may have contributed to the wave of dead Ryzen 98...
seems to be more of AMD's fault than ASRock tbh
AMD advertises their CPU performance numbers with PBO
but the numbers are not covered under warranty
effectively different product than what you're paying for
ASSrock has proper access to AMDs documentation though
So it's still their fault at the end of the day
I use Asrock mobo but on intel
isn't this similar to what intel did by giving confusing spec sheets to mobo manufacturers and blaming them when chips blew up
no, in this case it's asrocks fault (only), they deliberately modified the PBO voltages on higher end boards to artificially boost performance which is why lower boards are unaffected (they're more stable because they're actually at specification)
they arent
Well yes
intel did this silly "you didn't run it at spec" shit too but by not including baseline safe parameters for half of what they needed to
Asus owns Pegasus which runs asrock
They dont own Pegatron, and never have.
They have a stake in the company, but nowhere near majority. IIRC its like 14% now
If not less
They have owned it, it was a part of Asus and is still part of Asus group
Its an independent company for a long time, not a parent or part of their group
They used to own it, but not anymore. the hold a minority stake, which is getting bought out more and more as times passes
It is part of the group, Asrock is owned by them
Its not lol
There are tonnes of news articles covering this
You cant claim something is owned, if you dont have a controlling stake. Thats like me saying I own Nvidia or Tesla, cos I have 20 stocks of each...I own a part, but I do not own
Being the largest holder doesnt give you ownership or controlling majority

https://help.ea.com/help/pc/secure-boot/ see if this helps
It kinda did but i still couldnt do it
which motherboard do you have
update your bios, there was an update 4 years ago which enables tpm and secure boot by default
Damn rtx 4040 is less of a scam than the entire 50 series
Specially from a gamers perspective i'd say. Barely any performnace increase but for sure increase in prices
Havent checked much for CUDA workloads etc.. But have a feeling that might not be so much diffrence. Either way very low value in my eyes
it's a significant difference over ada
I see i see. Isnt the 5090 much better for workstation tasks than the entry level professional gpus? Think i heard something about that, half the price for same performance. So maybe it is great value considering that 🤷
I should maybe have a look into performance gains for cuda also. Main scammy thing is they claim 5070 has 4090 performance
4x fg don't justify false marketing 😛
it's anywhere from 30-50% in inference over the 4090, but if you're buying for ML then the rtx 6000 pro with 96GBs of vram is what you're getting not a 5090, it's generally the same uplift from a 4090 at around 28% greater efficiency (which is the same as the 4090 over the 3090)
you get into 4k territory it's around a 30% difference over a 4090 roughly
its in a weird position because it's more than likely the 5090 is heavily CPU limited even with a 9800x3d
Is there any idea about the (theoretical worse end) power load for the high end 60 series cards or is it way too early to ask LOL.
How long do drivers take to make by the way
get in all your questions to Deco while you can lads, channel isn't staying up forever. Make it count
wdym?
You know how you told me about getting a better PSU for my 5080, something that can better support it. Do you have an idea what would be needed for say a 6080 or something?
He's losing his realm
When it goes we'll lose him too
no idea, way too early for that
Rubin is barely finished for enterprise GPUs, consumer will be waiting a long while
Deco has a bright future ahead of him, don't worry.
Too bad about the other users.
ill say that's a very cryptic message

🫡
Ahhh i see. Also it would depend on how deep pockets you have and if you really, really need it
well it's only a mere $10k, I heard everyone has that
ironically cheap for a inference GPU all things considered
Only
If i personally was upgrading my gpu it would be at least 24gb vram, price range 1-1.5k, ideally close to double the performance of what i have now. For gaming and cuda, cuda workload is the only part where i would need the extra vram
Saw a IG video the other day, guy was saying you could just add more vram to your gpu
yeah we're at the point now where at 4k 16GB of vram will be exceeded with some cards even lmao

In some cases 16gb isnt even enough for 1080p now. This is if you have things like ray tracing and other vram hungry things enabled
amd right now
yeah at 1080 it can draw up to like 11 on occasion
Bruh.
And the 16GB cards currently require more than one 8-pin connector, too.
Oh, wait, the 9060 XT 16GB Reference version is the sole exception to this rule.
16Gb card for less then 400€? I see this as a huge win for the market
Also i think the performance will get better too as AMD releases new drivers
It isn't bad but AMD always improves with drivers
Or releases driver that breaks everything
I have 5 eggs so I must have 5 chickens
16GB is good yes but the 9060XT and 5060Ti are only on 128-bit interface
these GPUs will never fully utilize that 16GB in games
12GB would make more sense for the performance tier they're in
Switch 2 screen has gotta be the worst handheld console screen ever
dоgѕhіt ріхеl rеѕроnѕе tіmеѕ, lіtеrаllу wоrѕе thаn а Swіtсh 1
can't be а 120hz раnеl, more like an оvеrсlосkеd 30hz раnеl
I was already saying a couple months ago that the screen was gonna be bad
but not this bad
Nintendo would never penny pinch and sell you low tier hardware at a premium
tbf, the Gamecube was a lot faster than the PS2 and almost on par with the original Xbox
