I dont think its worth it just the have the latest/best gaming CPU. when the 5700x3d is many times cheaper, and still not a tonne slower
Rough pricing ATM being
- 5700x3D - 199 USD
- 7800x3d - 388 USD
yeah, but if i got 6 years out of my current one, im not really looking to replace a new cpu in 2-3 years anyways so the dead end factor seems to be less of an issue
plus as bsod is saying the price difference for the mobo and ram seems like enough of a deciding factor
Well the motherboard and ram price difference is not massive, but it all adds up.
IMHO, most people would be happy with the performance they get with the 5700x3d.
Ryzen 9000 delay, it was a typo all along? Ryzen 9 9700X instead of Ryzen 7 9700X. AMD has not directly confirmed the reason for the Ryzen 9000 launch delay. Officially, the company cited quality issues that did not meet their expectations. However, it seems the issue might have been a simple typo. A batch […]
no it's fake
so just doing some rough ballparking a b550 board ~$90, and 32gb of ram ~$55
vs 650m board $135 and 32gb ~$112
with the 5700 vs 7800 its $355 vs $630, in just those 3 parts
but $173 more cpu will do that i suppose
Seems roughly correct, tho do make sure to get 3600mhz memory, at least a decent kit as it benefits that cpu.
for the 7800? from what i was reading quickly about the 5700, 3200 was fine because the differences in fast/slow ram is way less noticeable
I've ryzen 5 7600 and all is going good
3600mhz DDR4 for 5700x3d, 6000mhz DDR5 for 7800x3d
Those are the optimal speeds for RAM to sync with infinity fabric.
i also read somewhere that the difference between 3200 and 3600 was minimal for atleast the 5800x3d. but i still got a ddr4 3600mhz cl16 kit
yes, the cache makes it nonexistent because memory sensitivity is removed for the IF
there was only like 1-2% performance difference between using 2133 and 3600 memory on 5800X3D lol
quality issues with GDDR6X
4090 out of stock in most places
So are there just no b550 boards with 3 m.2 slots on them?
Just partition a very large capacity drive

Like I did and now I'm booting Windows, hackintosh and Linux on the same drive
I see the am5 boards have 3 but didn't see any in the b550 section
unless there's a higher tier am4 that has it
Thank god I purchased my 4090 earlier
There are only 3 white 4090 Rog strix left on Amazon

Would need some help as I still don't have great PC knowledge (only basics) 👀
My GF's PC has terrible performance in games from all of the sudden. I tried to Update drivers, revert to old drivers, run antivirus, check its performance but I found nothing...
PC runs fine in desktop, web browsing and overall would not notice any issues until game is started... PC was able to run BF2042 on 140 Fps, Baldurs Gate 3 on 100+Fps but now BF2042 has like 20-30Fps and its same with other games.. Huge stutters with Fps drops to even 9-12Fps
Let's start the doom train...bad ram?
How to check or know it is bad tho.?
which gpu?
RTX 3060 , 12Gb
Taking one stick out at a time and seeing if the same issue happens?
not sure would you have to move one of the sticks into the "primary slot?"
you need to check the clocks to make sure its actually entering a pl1 state, run msi afterburner when booting a game and see what it is
Do I need to set anything in the MSI Afterburner, or just let it run while game is booting up.?👀
no, just boot it
Okey, will download MSI Afterburner and try it, thanks as always.
Would running hwinfo and an affected game not also tell you this info?
i got checkerboard stuff in some browsers while switching between stuff for a milisecond, i havent had it since i turned off resizeable bar. does that mean my gpu is unstable? ive seen some people say they gain advantages with it on but idk
yes, just a diff tool
this was addressed in the 22631.3668 build, upgrade to 24h2 if you havent already, and yes keep resizeable bar on, always
Stuff like this is usually a faulty mount, PCIE seat...or worst case a dying power supply
Getting my case tomorrow. Genuinely excited to set up and start building it
nice, good luck with all of it

28 and 32 Gbps
So thin compared to my lenovo
The hdmi here has some space above and below, unlike the video
I'm on UPS tracker and my case is just a few minutes away
Are you wagging your tail at the door in anticipation?
Finally got it
My CPU cooler radiator is to large FUCK
Welp I can still put everything together
Just not the CPU cooler yet
I'ma get an air cooler instead honestly
It's a amd 7 7800x3d
It won't get that hot
why not a 360? should fit vertically on the back panel
I'ma get a 360. I'm a moron who didn't notice that the case couldn't fit a 420
Honestly fuck it black cooler
I can get a 360 Arctic liquid freezer III overnight or tomorrow
But it's black
(another reason i dont do themed/white builds)
thankfully 99.999% of bang for buck parts are just black
Honestly I don't think it will be that bad
It's going to be above and since the motherboard is black it can blend in a bit
it would bother the poo out of me personally
Any radiator will fit any case with a bit of DIY 😛
Were you using the PC builder website? Or just looked at stuff individually
I was using a PC builder website
Also shouldn't the case or motherboard have screws to install it
And it didn't flag that incompatibility?
Nope
Pretty sure the case comes with hardware for that? The standoffs/screws
Yep I found the screws
That's rough though oof... guess it's not a fool proof system
physical dimensions are hit or miss, especially for new components like the hyte y70 considering observer pre ordered it
(though their website says it only supports up to 360mm)
Meta got fucked
Will that rad not go in the top?
Meta fucking is the best kind
Be a shame if that cpu got dirty with thermal paste
be sure to upload your thermal paste application so everyone can criticize it
your computer is starting to look like mine
cool
i enjoy the black and white aesthetic
I think you're going to have a lot more space for cables than I do though.
the usb 2.0 cable shoudl go into your motherboard and the sata cable is the rgb for your case? and you plug a sata power cable into it
I mean
I would need to like, see the whole cable
but that's my guess
are those running FROM the case?
Not my build, but I assume vertical clearance issues with mb heatsink and wire pass through
yeah I think that usb 2.0 cable should go into the bottom of the motherboard and if your power supply is modular which i assume it is, a sata power cable will go into that other cable
but i'm blind as fuck and my glasses are next to my sleeping daughter so, dunno
what model is your motherboard
Modular is a PSU that is separated from the cables
if it doesn't fit, it's the wrong place
if it fits, you're fine
don't sweat it
The worst part about cables for me was always the single wire connectors for the front io?
as far as that SATA cable running from the case, it will be the same cable you'd plug into a hard drive to power it.
screw that. i did it once and prayed. thankfully i got it right
Luckily the Mobo is labeled but yeah getting the single pin connectors next to the multi ones etc was a slight pain sometimes
I've had cases where they're all attached, nice and simple. the case i had now was four separate wires. even with great eyes and the patience of a saint it's difficult
the sata cable does not plug into the motherboard, i should probably clarify that. you're going to need a power cable from the power supply to that cable.
or maybe a controller, i don't have one though. so my advice may be fucked
So I noticed that motherboards have a 8 pin PCIe and a 4 pin CPU but this case has a both in 8 pin
just the read the manual easiest shit ever

I think the problem is how small it is. rtfm doesn't apply here.
then hold them all in place with your fingers and put them in place in one go?
that's how I do it
the next time you build a computer, please, and I'm not saying this to be an asshole, demonstrate it. one shot, one fluid motion.
I would love to see it
nobody said it was fluid
but it isn't hard by any means
had more issues with all the shitty rgb cables tbh
Maybe I just have zero patience
next build 0 rgb on anything
only reason I have rgb is because my case had it built in and I can't turn off the light on my video card 😐
I bought a bunch of ''cool'' rgb stuff like gskill RAM, corsair fans one of those kraken nzxt coolers.
Was fun for 2 weeks and then I turned everything off
picture of my old setup
Some boards allow 2 8 pin CPU powers. These are both specifically CPU power, not PCIE power, so don't try to connect PCIE from your power supply.
Is that a GPU cooler?
Nvrm. I’m dumb asf
Yesterday I seen someone with a GPU cooler
better picture?
I zoomed in and seen the normal cables

I’m a slow fuck rn
All gpus have coolers 😜
The one I’m talking about. You take off the back plate for a cooler attachment thingy
I used an aio bracket cooler when I had a 1080
i need to replace my gpu at some point, got 4 ports and 3 of them are not working so I can only use 1 screen.
Ok 2 CPU cables and the big motherboard cable
Did I do this right? I haven't touched the GPU or fans just yet
Is the system posting?
Is GPU attachment coolers even worth it. I heard they are good but I barely see people use them. Is it because they don’t want to affect their warranty?
I usually build any system with an AIO outside the case. It's a pain in the ass correctly attaching the cooler and radiators once the board is already in there
Cooler adapters are pretty pointless now. Modern GPUs are pain to disassemble
Coolers are also a lot better now
One thing I wish about my EVGA 3080. Only one fan spin
as the other two don’t while playing games. My fans in my pc keep it cool but i wish all 3 of my gpu fans work
On pc boot up aka initial power on, I see them spin but when it fully boots up windows it don’t spin but one
You can control that
How?
MSI afterburner should be able to set all fans to spin.
I think i hurt the ball bearings of one of my gpus fans, and it has started to make alot of Noice but im too afraid of messing up to switch the fan myself, and i cant find any place that offers services like gpu repair
I used MSI afterburner. It’s not doing anything to the other 2 fans
Is it because it’s not recognizing it?
There should be a way to select which fans it controls
Set fans to spin
It only shows 2 fans.
Pic?
From MSI or the pc?
MSI
I need to use my gpus own software to fully controll all fans aswell. Doesnt work in msi afterburner
Like there should be 2 fans, but one of those controllers controls 2 fans, the other controls the 3rd, no?
Only one spin. But shows 2
Do they all spin if you set power mode to prefer max performacne
stop shaming me, this is mod abuse
nope just one
So do the others just never spin?
Try your gpus manufacturers own software
So the GPU is broken?
So EVGA?
Yeah
Or they dont even spin when you turn on the PC. the OG post wasnt clear
Precision X, or whatever its called
They spin on initial power on pc. But don’t spin after that
When you first press the power button, they spin
And selecting this, then setting a fan speed does nothing?
The hell. Thats weird. Although EVGA 30 series was pretty jank now that I remember
Fan sync don’t apply to the other 2 idk
OOF, yeah seems they locked using the fans to their own software. Assholes
I been having this pc for a while now but my pc runs cool due to my pc fans. But gpu could be more cooler if all 3 fans run
Precision X should allow you to use all 3. But they are idiots for requiring their own software. Especially since they no longer update it
I maxed it out but nothing
unlink the fans?
And did you hit apply (Stupid question, but id rather ask it than do 20 minutes of troubleshooting)
Same thing, nothing
Oops. Welp
2 works now
hmm, fan 2 still not spinning, odd
Prob the broken fan
Where does the arrow beside the fan speeds lead?
Temp tune graph, fan speed controller graph, VF curve tuner
Nice wallpaper
Thanks ☺️
I found a similar styled one for BF1 on wallpaper engine
You can config it to stop when you're full-screening a game or something
That's what I did, very little usage in the background after I did that
Ehh… I’ll wait till I get a Rtx 40s or 50s pc
Also not much is eye popping from wallpaper engine to me tbh
What I like about WE is how versatile it is, you can achieve those rainmeter 'setups' without actually having to use that, while having a nice animated background too.
Animated background is meh. I like a static pic more
My progress
I use WE on my second monitor for a clock for the room. function!
I need to install the intake fans and connect all 4 with the rbg cables and what not.
The CPU cooler which will sadly be black this time will come tomorrow
I got a cooler that was way too damn large
That first picture was awful
So here's a better one
What RTX is that?
4090 strix?
oh lawd the bottom of that case looks like a dusting nightmare
we need to ask him what the total cost of this build is 💀
Time to stop being an @mystic flax and be a TELLER
static pic can't give you something as cool as this though
ps2 animated wallpaper
Ew
yeah it's seriously versatile with what you can do with it
5 grand
Nearing 6 grand probably
Actually I think I installed everything that can make it turn on
Let me get a surge protector
I hope CAD haha
black and red is actually what I coloured the other wallpaper I use
Still ew
thats more than i was expecting
I mean he spent like $500 for just the storage?
buying some crazy overkill nvme with a fat heatsink slapped on it
I suppose he's set for life though
Just tested it
IT CAN RUN
The GPU turns on, the ram lights up, the case monitor turns on
Just need to get the fans connected
Just figured that out
bro fired it up with out a cooler?
_ i was going to make a joke about doing that earlier_
to make sure its working, lay it flat and get a little square of ham
it should cook it in about 45 seconds when you run a benchmark
Fry an egg
nah then you gotta build a little box for it to keep contained in
If it ain’t frying, it ain’t worth buying
Crack it on it, like a real man
wait....no one told him to put the mobo in the dishwasher before putting all the stuff on it? you gotta clean off that residue from the bag
No. He needs to make a bleach bath and lay everything in there. It will be perfectly clean
wait...technically you can wash a mobo in the dishwasher right? as long as its like 100% dry after you remove it before giving it power again?
isnt that what the crazy ln2 OCers do to remove all the gel shit they put on to protect it from moisture?
In the special water. Ye
He better have a dyson with a HEPA for intake to create positive pressure or it is going to turn into a snow globe in a week
in 2018 i bought the fractal design... r6? glass side window, but has the front screen covering the 2 intake fans, im amazed how much dust that keeps out all on its own, literally took years for it to build up just a tiny amount on the floor/ directly behind the front fans
the bottom and front of my bequiet! 500dx have a filter, and everything else is exhaust. i heart this case
https://youtube.com/shorts/zoAPy6Jc8UI?si=M_EV2I4e3qxg45k7 lmao thermal paste video i got recommended
i think i did just 9 dots in symmetry like tic tac toe when i had my air cooler, when i switched to an AIO i wiped off the thermal paste and went with the x. there was way too much runoff when I went rogue and tried my own pattern
interesting how it was only 35-34 difference, so not the end of the world "if you did it wrong"
the first time I did it, it stressed me out. now I get bored and reapply thermal paste to as many devices as I can find. I mean they give me five applications in one tube, and I'm buying a new tube no matter what when I get a new processor/cooler. So many things to reapply paste to
I'm so close to finishing this PC
There are extra cables I need to look into
And I need the CPU cooler
But after all of that I'm done building
Ok so my fans do light up with RGB but they aren't spinning, will this be available once Im doing bios and that junk
Or did I miss a step
very likely the fan curve for them is set up where they just dont turn on until its warm enough?
I can't really have it on for that long to guarantee that the fans aren't working
Because the CPU got no cooler
the case fans will not spin until you get the CPU cooler mounted
the pc will not boot
Makes sense
Other than that everything else runs. Just not long enough before the CPU overheats
AMD Ryzen 9000: From $279 to $599 AMD has now confirmed pricing for its Ryzen 9000 series through retailers. The latest desktop CPU series, known as “Granite Ridge,” will not launch until next week. What was originally planned for today has been pushed back to August 8th (Ryzen 9600X/9700X) and August 14th (Ryzen 9900X/9950X). However, […]
7800X3D will outsell the 9700X for many months to come
Until 9800X3D
ngl. I'm kind of excited to see the end of @mystic flax 's PC build today. I hope the cooler comes.
As long as the magic smoke doesn't come out on the first boot
The stakes are always higher when the cost was so high. I spent a third on my build and was stressed out. It's like watching reality tv
eh, maybe half, but still
Honestly the only time I was full on stressed was installing the CPU and finding out that the CPU cooler was to big for the case
After that it was just watching tutorials
Which paid off as my first time turning it on was a success
at least I don't have to line up pins anymore. When I was probably 12 years old, I was tasked with upgrading my pentium processor to the MMX chipset.
which I'm not even sure why it was marketed as an upgrade, because i completely swapped the cpu out. but whatever. it was stressful
We make mistakes and delays in life because of the lack of information. So because I’m an Expert Trader, out of my Godly heart will give a learning opportunity

Hey watch what you say to people I only offered to teach interested people how to trade I never asked for a pay
PC building these days is easier than building a LEGO set haha
No one offers anything for free. No one.
That’s how the poor reasons
Uh, no, that's how intelligent business owners reason. Now fuck off, twat.
Honestly yeah, there are Lego sets that took me days to build
Haha same, and which came with more confusing instructions 😄
Like the Titanic set which is damn massive
try building a technic car
Even lego themselves literally mess up with the instructions and you have to manually ask them to send replacement bricks or corrected instructions lmao
The last thing I built was the lego infinity gauntlet
Lego sets have confusing instructions
looks like a skill issue
But that was pretty easy
Installing the AIO, will I need the single AIO cable or the cable that is divided into 3
Cut it in 3
I looked it up so the CPU fan is where I can use the single AIO cable
And OPT is for a secondary fan cooler
depends on aio, some aios use 2 connectors, one for pump and one for fan
Better image
I'm guessing this is a bad thing
This is what it looks like when turning on
In that video I also see the motherboard has a red light
Honestly the motherboards red light may be a bios issue
And the GPU red light only turns on when the PSU is on but turns off when I turn the case on
Ok the fans may just need to be updated in bios and in a Corsair fan application
But that should be everything
This beauty can finally be hooked up to a monitor
A single monitor?
isnt it a massive 4k monitor though?
Do you even lift bro
This shit is heavy man, the case by itself is 30 pounds
Add the GPU, motherboard, CPU cooler, PSU and all of that junk
Put it on rollerblade wheel castors
Get a flat trolley.
Just weighed it. It's 50 pounds
Eeh, if it's small distances he should be fine
I carried crt home and a long distance, I would pick up and walk a bit and put down, rest and pick it back up
I think I carried one weighing over 50 pounds before
tried defragging the computer and it's still laggy,
tried deleting my browser history, still laggy
define laggy
i hope you didnt defrag on an ssd
drop of framerate and stuttering, sometimes freezing
I defrad my Windows
what
Is your windows installation on a seperate drive or something
You might want to check your start up apps in task manager
I don't belieeve so. I defrag or "optimized" my windows (C:) hard-drive 2 times now, once in the morning and another this afternoon

What did I do wrong Deco?
Just installed the new monitor to the current PC
Just for convenience for tomorrow
Getting the USB tomorrow
The monitor is straight up noticeably better
thats good I guess
Getting the USB? I don't understand
looking at it. I know the rules but I can't find anyone else who had dealt with this issue online
if you think it's your hard drive, which I'm assuming it is because you said you defragged it, then maybe it's reached the end of its life. You're better off buying an SSD anyway. You can get a 500 GB SSD for what, $35-40? Bite the bullet. It will change your computing experience anyway.
but I don't diagnose hard drives because I only dispose of them
well I'm using a HP gaming previlon, I don't think i can change disks without tearing the whole thing apart XD
Can you smell the colours?
how many times did your bank call you throughout all this?
or did the fire department have to come and extinguish your card?
cant imagine a size that 8k would even be noticeable
I'm tapped out at 3440 x 1440 for a computer display. I'd need the eyes of a cat to be jonesing for something more
i feel like no one NEEDS more than 1440p at 27"
like, you really gotta be paying attention to notice jaggies or pixels
I actually find that if games are TOO well defined, it looks like shit. I was playing BF2042 on an i5-4670K and 1660 TI. Somehow, when I upgraded it looked worse even though it looked objectively better. Maybe because the imperfections were hidden behind a haze. i dunno.
but when it's in 4K I think "wow, that looks nothing like debris on the ground at all. it looks like a bunch of shitty .png files someone made in microsoft paint"
its 4D?
is 1tb book drive ssd common these days due to the low price?
So uhh

iGPU is huge
supposed to be fast as RTX 4070 laptop
Asus is putting this APU in a gaming tablet lol
total size of APU is 439mm^2, not far from the size of a 7900XTX lol
max TDP is 110W
1000 fps
What in the name of christ
Holy
I legit don't need a gpu anymore then tbh
16 cores is overkill for a gaming APU but I think that's the point of it tbh
rather have 8 cores and use the extra power savings towards the GPU
Maybe they think 16 cores are crucial for productivity
Question is, is it windows based or android based tablet. If it’s windows based. I understand the performance and 16 cores
If it’s android based. Then it’s a overkill imo
Steam OS as a tablet would be nice. But hopefully it’s windows based. Get more use out of the APU
Finally, now we can have a portable PS4/PS3
I decorated my PC with a lego set. Pretty sure this is how it happened on The Mandalorian.
I think Sony doing consoles + vr + handhelds is too much money to spend

how did they manage to get bad copper in their chips?
copper with low % of copper
has other mixed metals
which can cause copper to fail and crack
one would think a company like intel would have stuff like that on lock
Everybody will probably be able to get 5 dollars if they manage to find a random form, fill out 10 pages of information, fill it out, and wait ½ a year

I was thinking something else
Ok how do I put the motherboard drivers, bios, and utility updates on a USB. Do I extract the files to that USB or do I just move the zip files to the USB
Need a step guide as I DON'T WANT TO FUCK UP ANYTHING ON THIS CURRENT PC AND THE NEW ON
Funny, cos this video covers exactly that board haha
Showing you how to update your motherboard's BIOS using my Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX. This process will be similar no matter the motherboard or manufacturer. With the new Ryzen 8000g APU's (8300g, 8500g, 8600g, 8700g) being released a bios update will be required to ensure compatibility.
Correction: FAT32 supports up to 32gb usb drives.
CP...
Lol, what I'm more looking for is how to put the drivers on the USB properly. Hoping this video has it as I got zero luck looking on YouTube
thats convenient
Easiest way is to probably just download the bios file from their site, place it (Extract it if needed) to the usb, then select the bios file from the utility in their bios
According to gigabyte, that board has flashback.
Hidden beneath the M.2 heatsink is the 256 Mbit flash for the BIOS. This X670 AORUS Elite AX motherboard doesn't have dual BIOS, but does offer Q-Flash BIOS Flashback to update or restore from a corrupted state.
So you probably dont need to worry about BIOS corruption
As this is there as a backup
seems like these days it would be harder to not find your specific hardware in question on youtube
theres a damn video for everything
I kid you not, it was the first thing that popped up for me 😄
Maybe I have strong Google-Fu
forgot if it was for my current z370 board, or the one i had previously for a uhh 6600k, but sure enough video for it to walk me through OCing and it was very simple
So I just extract all of the zip files to that USB and the motherboard will do the rest when I put the USB in the new pc
Do you not have bios acces on the board youre updating?
Ryzens for AM4 - does the 3D with larger cache really matter? Esp. if in an average rig, no top tier GPu etc.
Idk I haven't hooked up anything yet. I have to make sure I download everything properly before I take out the current PC for the new one
So you wont be able to run both PCs at the same time? Swapping over parts or something?
No I only have enough room for one PC at a time
flag on the field here, how did you spend 5 grand on this new beast but only have room for 1 at a time
Does this look like I can fit 2 PC cases
you slide the current one out on the floor for a while
tiny sacrifices for the greater good
ehhh, bit of a loaded question. depends on game, settings, resolution as well as hardware
there IS a difference regardless, just maybe not as big as people suggest?
ew Alienware pc
Alright I'm extracting all drivers into the USB including the recent updated bios and utility
excuse me we call them undocumentedware pc's around here
No idea what I'm doing at all
Just extracting and deleting the zip files after extraction

Forgot a driver, but all of the drivers that were available are downloaded
I only put in the most recent bios and utility updates
I swear if this shit doesn't fucking work
just update them from the driver list in device settings and via windows update
i think to update bios is via boot manager from inital startup your pc. i recommend looking up your mobo on youtube or something via your phone
This situation is very weird to me, why are you not just installing the OS on the new PC before swapping it over into a set spot. Seems like you could easily just keep 2 PCs in action until your new one is set up haha
Just download W11 for free, install without a licence key
tru tru via usb drive
I dont get why you'd need to put all the drivers for the new PC on a USB like haha
Is just something ive never done 😄
updating mobo/bios is one thing but drivers can be updated on the pc alone
I know that I'm separating bios update with windows booter
I just build the new PC > connect one monitor/mouse/keyboard to it > install OS > Make sure it has ethernet driver > download and install all drivers for that PC on thw PC itself
The window media installer is fine I have that on a usb
I do not have any equipment for both PCs to run
At the same time
me personally have a usb for updating my mobo. but i havent done that in 2 years
Just swap em over, at max its 1 display cable, 2 USBs ha
I'ma find everything out once I uninstall all of my games from the current pc
Do you need to do that?
Steam can detect games on a drive, even from a different PC and re-install them
if its already on your ssd. no need to
I'm no longer using it and I'll piss my dad off trying to do something with the PC with most of the storage being used up
Just format the drive, no need to uninstall
It's on a HDD
Same deal
Most of my games are on a HDD
as soon you install a launcher, it detects the storage. it reads your storage with your profile cuz the games have a license linked to your profile
if it dont detect storage, you go to the launcher settings where storage tab is at and add the storage
If I understand them correctly, they are removing this storage, and giving it to their parent
It wont go into the new PC. they simply want to clear it for use by the new person
the new drive you select the storage if not reading off the back. after that. everything is playable like normal. just need to launch first time on the new pc
Intel is laying off over 15,000 employees and will cut $10 billion in costs. Intel also reported a loss of $1.6 billion in Q2 2024 due to its Foundry business and investments https://t.co/jdwnmNFlDw
idk y i have HD2 and apex downloaded. i forgot to delete those trash games imo
bruh... thats big
I don't like Intel but this is awful.
after a lost. sheesh
I wish they didn't have to go down this route.
imagine how bad Q3 is gonna be for them...all things considered
I got the bios up
I'ma look for that video again
To help navigate this maze
What should I do here or do I leave it as it is
I genuinely don't know what to do here and I feel like the video doesn't help much
Like why was precision boost overdrive disabled in that video
i dont trust oc or od cuz im not comfortable using it kek
never buy volume licenses, retail is worth it even if it's costly.
AMD can finally have a monopoly for themselves

tru. but there is also people lazy out there and a cheapo

Fans aren't fucking working, I checked bios and icue and nope go fuck yourself you don't get spinning fans
And searching up the issue doesn't help as everyone has rbg issues and it NEVER gives me what I need help on
The fuck am I doing wrong, I follow the instructions
I should've never got Corsair fans
I may or may not done that before
So, I got myself a new gaming pc, and what I have for fans are 8 altogether, 2 should be connected to the RGB corsair pump. When I first turned on the PC, ALL the fans were lit up, but when I started to mess around with the settings in Icue, I couldn't get 2 fans to light up. So, at the moment 6 ...
@mystic flax did you check their forums?
sounds like theyre not spinning
I've got more faith in my motherboard and Fan Control than that iCue nonsense
you say the fans aren't working in the bios. are they even showing up in the bios?
Welp I believe I found a solution but it requires a 4 way splitter
Aw man. I bought a 2 pack when I got my AIO and went push/pull. I'd totally hook you up if you were near 😭
Is it too much for your mobo? Or what..
do you have an Apple vision you can just stream from so we can watch you do this. you definitely have the capital to afford one
You bet
Those fans literally create a column of air that you feel it's like a laser fan
this is the fan I use to cool my PC
I have no other way to describe it. They're terrible for circulating air, but awesome for focus
Looks like it ain’t cooling the pc on the desk like that
I turn it toward the tower when I'm gaming
that's why I keep the RGB blue. duh
yes it does, I keep my keyboard red during winter and it stays nice and cosy for my fingers when gaming in freezing temperatures outside
Yep. And when you need an fps boost, Orange or Yellow will do the trick.
Why do you think they put RGB in everything now?
I also keep a porcelain buddha in my computer case. he keeps it cool.

One is not like the otherd
Not sure why they put an A750 next to a gtx 1660 and a 5600 XT lol
because they listed the weakest card of each brand that could run the game?
A580, the step down, is faster than both of those
They also dont list A770 in recommended
Also 1080p 30 fps low with upscaler
funny because 5600XT is faster than 2060

Itd be like recommending a 4060 and a 7800XT in same tier
960p gaming on a 6800XT let's go
11600K
few things from this to comment with:
intel's discrete graphics division is now for sure dead
IFS requires more than just this loss
gelsinger will be for sure be pressured by shareholders to resign soon (soon means a year by financial standards)

so no battlemage?
might get canned

battlemage will launch
expect nothing after
oof
I wonder what the quality of battlemage will be like
considering the quality of their cpus

How did their QA fuck up?
IFS just costs that much money
theyve put in $10b in capital costs so far so get it up to scratch and it still needs more
Well I got a WiFi 6/6e usb adapter for my pc. It’s better than my WiFi 5 one
Less latency/abit lower ping, but faster speeds

Nvidia buying Intel /s
I mean they did say they want to enter the consumer CPU market
I did my cleaning in pure bleach. It smells like lemon now. But man it runs a lot better
That will be mind blowing ngl. I still wonder how Nvidia handles cpu market if they take that route.
I mean it seems like they really want to enter it
Considering they originally tried to acquire Arm from Softbank
Thank god that didn't go through
it's not a consideration
they explicitly said they want to make processors for consumers
they'd never be able to buy intel
Well, Intel is letting 15.000 people go in the latest round of lay-offs
Well, their net income could be better
However, with over 20 billion in cash just lying around, it's still a dick move
Guys the ones of you who are on the EU, do you mind signing this petition? It is to make the EU comission create legislation to stop game developers from stopping you from playing a game you paid for after its support ends (like soon BF4, it can only be played with an online connection, even if you are playing alone, now that they have ended the support you are not able to play that game. This policy sets a dangerous precedent for the future of one of our favourite hobbies)

Hopefully enough to get the signatures.
Remember playing Battlefield 2, Vietnam, 1942, bad company online mp?
More recently november of this year iirc BF3 and 4 will be shut down for console. Who knows when for pc? BF4 has 1500 daily players as opposed to the "grand success" of BF2042 which has 10 000. How long until they shut that down and you can't even play that at all?
well im not an idiot and dont expect online games to be indefinitely kept on life support for a miniscule amount of people
That's not what the petition is claiming mate. It just doesn't sue ppl who run private servers or allow planned obsolescence. Please watch the video if I may ask such a bold thing of you.
Not the place for this TBH
Petitions and such are specifically not allowed in this servers rules
Remember Battlefield 1942? That game stayed popular for a long time due to its community making mods like Forgotten Hope, DC, DCF, DCX. The latter 3 who's mods helped make BF2.
Anyone who's had solace from a game that is now unplayable after they paid for it should care about this.
Okay, so why is that? In this case it protects consumer rights.
I've said my piece. If you care about gaming and you obviously do or you wouldn't be here I assume at least look at the video.
Have a nice night and ty for at least reading this oh you fuhrer of this realm 😉👍
@steady laurel This is not the channel let alone discord for such things. Hell. Zero fucking need to compare someone trying to inform you to fucking Hitler. I don't care that's not what you directly said. You meant it.
I was referring to him saying this isn't a democracy, implying it's a dictatorship. Supreme leaders of all ilk get a bit touchy when confronted with their own words in a joking manner, but do take it as an insult if you must. Wasn't intended that way, but you do you.

Considering I'm looking at a 5090. Should I get a 1000 W PSU or some shit?
I mean ok I need a good psu but
Do I need something particularly more powerful than what's needed for 4090?
With an x800x3d.
No way to know. Nvidia could go insane and make 5090 actually pull 600W
2000w if you can
and we all nvidia is just going to make it more power hungry
Realistically, and logically speaking...if they are sticking with the 12VHPWR connector, the max usage will remain 600W. So 1000W will probably be fine. If you are buying a new PSU tho...just shop around and see can you get a similarly priced/efficient 1200W or something if you really feel youll need it
oh im gunna kill newegg... cunts had the 9th as the delivery date... now i look again today and its the 12th
answer: no, 1000 watts is fine, they'd never do more than 1 12VHP connector on one card, there is a slight caveat here in that higher wattage is more efficient at higher loads, but it's not a total critical thing
what will matter is the ATX standard you are getting, that is what matters, not the wattage

this is HUGE for mobile devices
how would you solder a chip that thin, only 0.65mm
has to be very delicate
As long as the contact pads are of a standard, balling should be pretty easy
The LPDDR5X memory is gradually replacing SODIMM DDR5 in laptop designs and is used in many of the fastest smartphones on the market.
I thought CAMM2 was mostly replacing SODIMM
camm2 will be replacing DDR in standard boards rather than sodimm

AMD's Zen 5 Ryzen 7 9700X has now launched. This benchmark and review compares the AMD R7 9700X vs. the R7 7800X3D, R7 7700X, Intel i9-14900K, 14700K, 5800X3D, and more. The benchmarks include gaming benchmarks, production workloads, power, efficiency, thermals, and more.
We have brand new ...
best thing about R7 9700X: it draws very little power, comparable to the R5 7600
problem: it's about 5% slower than 7800X3D on gaming average
Non x3d, real cpus to wait for are next year

I think.. does X3D usually get announced next year?
9800X3D could be out as early as October iirc

but likely not, it would deter the sales of the non-X3D parts
true
also some stability issues on 9000 series, mostly to do with memory
9600X in that review is basically a brick

it's Lisover
not that bad considering the 7700X was slower than the 5800X3D
seems like previous generation X3D will always beat new generation without 3D
memory deprived but has memory stability problems
was always going to be ass relatively
agesa troubles not inherit to the processor specifically
Zen 5 will have to rely on 3D cache to make up for the bandwidth
It would be a shame if they carry the same IOD over to Zen 6 as well lol
doubt they will come down as low as AMD did in 2013
AMD relied on donations to stay alive lol
Never say never
I wouldn't be suprised at least
no it won't
AMD is only alive because Ferrari donated $5 million also the PS4 coming out in late 2013
that is a very different situation to another
Intel's stock is heavily diluted that's why it's this low
I say customer negligence, lack of transparency is big part of why it's lowering. Biggest drop happened after intel announced layofs which i am sure investors also take as big losses for intel so they need to compensate with layofs
After recent events i would pull every single cent out of that company if i was invested for sure
Intel hired way too many people during 2020/2021 pandemic to begin with
the drop has nothing to do with transparency it's just their financials
investors don't care about customer service
they made a $1.6b loss on IFS and they are not revenue neutral which is why those stuff happened, anything involving consumer chips is not related or correlated to this
Intel's stock holders are institutional investors like pension funds so this sort of news has a outsized effect in terms of price distortions
you think Arc GPUs have an impact on their revenue?
yes in the negative lol
they're loss making on arc
expect battlemage to launch then intel discrete cards to cease entirely for the consumer market
really hard market to enter, surprised Radeon has been alive this long
they're not, they're alive because they have artificially high prices
even in their last revenue results Radeon got hammered

it's a market Nvidia has and that's about it, AMD are nowhere close
with these layoffs AXG is finished in terms of consumer client cards

Iam pretty sure AMD has a bigger supply market than nvidia
dont they supply a shit ton of car manufacturers?
amd are a fabless company they don't manufacture anything
they supply chips but they are nowhere close to Nvidia in terms of capacity, supply, revenue or profits
the GPU market is theirs and theirs alone
the only market amd has for GPUs is consoles, but anywhere else it's not close
going against Nvidia would be a suicide for them
rather not touch on what it works and just keep profit margins
Radeon relies on consoles and cheap laptops with integrated graphics
they can't compete against them, because their hardware isn't particularly close and their software stack is a decade behind if you're being nice
"AMD's data center customers include Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Oracle, IBM and Microsoft Azure" - 2022
yeah DC is CPUs/GPUs combined
I would rather agree that Intel is a bigger direct competitor of AMD than Nvidia
NV don't have processors they have a unified platform like Blackwell
Nvidia were always on their own league
AMD Epyc CPUs are doing really well; in fact even Nvidia uses them
they have grace but it doesn't matter
as soon as Nvidia enter the consumer processor market all bets are off
meh they won't do much for the CPU market imo
amd is the new intel
thats all I care
they don't need to
Nvidia want to sell a unified platform, not a processor
that's their strategy for servers it will be it for consumer too
yeah they sell their products in stations, not by individual processors
in other words. Nvidia are fine on their own. So is AMD on their own terms. The one in the worst position inbetween is Intel with their shenanigans
as long their profits are like 90%+ from enterprise and healthy Iam fine with that
nothing major will happen to any of them
Intel will recover but could take at least 2 generations, Panther-Lake isn't good enough
no arrow lake is in october
so just a few months
leaks show Arrow-Lake is marginally faster than 14th gen, single-digit gains
they don't mean anything, just ignore them
pretty much
no one upgrades their shit from a year to another
at best 2-3 minimum difference
well, they do, just users like me who fit that classification are a tiny minority
once 9800X3D is out, Intel may have to wait until 10800X3D launches to have a competitor
rip
meanwhile me looking at what apple is cooking with the M4
someone in war thunder discord tried to tell me Apple silicon is better than anything X86

they're
but not for gaming
atm for a cpu in a laptop that wont break your back. That shit is solid for working
is a stupid thing to say
the ISA is totally irrelevant
just morons who don't know what they're talking about
he told me Nvidia server GPUs don't even touch Apple M1 Ultra in machine learning
graduated in engineer of yapping
well he did state it's all NUMA related
so yeah, Apple may compete with Nvidia in NUMA related stuff, but no one cares about any of that
I saw a short last night of a comp science college kid who put together his own PC and it needed to be fixed
No cooler "didn't know I needed one" and the thermal paste was put in the socket
I ran a Fx-8320E without thermal paste once, just direct cooler contact
it didn't throttle
By mistake or were you just being a spicy boi
Fx CPUs got a lot of hate for power draw and poor performance but they were really good at transfering heat
8320E never touched 50C and a 8350 I also had would peak at 62C when overclocked
"all our CPUs get a good lapping before leaving the factory"
Zen 5 is a server and datacenter focused core, just look at the Phoronix review. Under Linux, with lots of AVX-512 workloads, the performance and efficiency are outstanding.
Both zen 5 and ARL will be big upgrades for me
What's that cpu supposed to cost
not yet announced for zen 5 x3d
sounds expensive
Well 9700x is a dud, missed opportunity with the whole intel fiasco
maybe 9700X can be cooled with Wraith stealth
even though they didn't include cooler
That will be to much work and money
9700AI when
all of the RDNA3 series
as tech jesus said, the biggest pros for the 9700x are efficiency and its not intel
Yeah going from like 108 to that is insane
wont happen lol
the term "hopefully" is where it ends with RDNA cards
Impossible challenge. Making GPU with AI tech but the AI tech servers no purpose
AMD: it’s a very hard challenge
Nvidia: did it long time ago, and still use it
With Lunar Lake all set to officially launch ahead of IFA 2024 next month, NotebookCheck had an email chat with Intel's Robert Hallock, VP Technical Marketing on the rationale behind some of the architecture decisions, what can be expected of Lunar Lake-powered laptops, and how the company views competition from ARM.
by removing SMT (hyperthreading,) new P-cores provide 15% more performance per watt, 10% more performance per die area, and 30% more performance per power/area.
Lunar Lake’s package power consumption is generally reduced by 40% compared to Meteor Lake

Cash grab?
aint it like half the power?
probably
where are you looking them
zen 5 in general isn't nearly as efficient as it was told to be
took awhile to find gaming power usage
most just list productivity
but yeah they seem to be very similar when gaming
yeah it looks like amd just limited something power related on the zen 5 so it compares to previous gen
haven't really looked too deep on this but i think some reviewer has figured it out
it's just uninteresting product line i think i won't look any further on it
They are more efficient as they get similar performance to last gen, but at lower power/temps, or same power/lower temps and slightly better performance.
It's only "meh", because performance wise it's nothing special gen on gen
9600x used actually more power in some games than 7600x
But with same performance
So

Source?
Not saying that in an "I dont believe you" way. I've just not seen many reviews on the chip
i think hardware unboxed dont really remember but all of the reviews of 9600x confirms it really
some games its lower power but its really marginal
it's not more it's strictly less, the processor is just built for efficiency, if you want to unlock it's power limit just switch on pbo
zen 5 architecture changes don't particularly favour games, but it's not a regression over zen 4
https://tpucdn.com/review/amd-ryzen-5-9600x/images/power-games-compare-vs-7600.png this is against non x 7600 cant really find one with the x one
yes the 7600 has a 65w tdp lol it's not comparable
thought so, techpowerup being weird again
and first in my google search results when googling 9600x review
https://www.igorslab.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/14-FHD-Watts.png average power consumption at 1080p
not much more
its in gaming
but like if im looking cpu for gaming i look 7800x3d right now
Wired or wireless? For home or outside usage?
Will always shill for the Sony's WF
Wired, for home usage, they will be connected to a Shiit Stack. (Magni and Modus)
for 200-250€ i would recommend Sennheiser HD-400 Pro or if you're willing to spend 270€ then AKG K-712 Pro
In the end it's what kind of sound you prefer so i would recommend to look the reviews to get an idea of what kind of frequency response they will be giving
Best would be if you have a store near where you can go listen the headphones
I should have given an example, I currently use the Beyerdynamic DT990 250 ohm, I love the sound of them but I'm currently on my second pair so I'm a bit hesitant to buy them again.
i don't have experience with those
ok fuck it buying the better version of the dt990's
