NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 rumored to feature 448-bit memory bus The upcoming flagship Blackwell graphics card is said to feature a 448-bit memory bus, out of the 512 bits available on the GB202 graphics processor. This is a new rumor suggesting a different memory configuration than previously discussed. The GB202 Blackwell GPU is the flagship [ā¦]
Gamers may never get 512-bit Blackwell
isn't it rumoured also to now be slimmer than last gen
2 slots only supposedly
Maybe that's how they achieved it
disabling a lot of the chip for segmentation
we're going to see a 5090, 5090 Super, 5090 Ti and 5090 Ti Super

5090 can have up to 192 SMs but it may not even have more than the 4090 because of how much of the chip is disabled
guys I am playing BF5 rn and the cutscenes are very choppy anyone knows how to fix it ?
I havve a 5900x and 4070 super
i think so
what OS do u have? microsoft or MAC?
And if its microsoft what version
you cannot play it on Mac, EA anticheat supports windows only
it's possibly a full screen issue, make sure it's on borderless
Microsoft Windows 11
Are BFV cutscenes 3D rendering, or pre-rendered. If you replay the same cutscene again, is it still choppy?
you can replay cutscenes?
I mean if you do the level again
nvm dlss solved the problem idk how
Did it, or did you replay a part of the game youve already played and now you have the shaders compiled for it?
Yea we get a lot of shit way cheaper than other countries.
Stonks
fuck, why can't we have such deals here
If only I had money
Ryzen 9000 series has exact same amount of cores, cache and same boost clocks as Ryzen 7000
all the performance gain is from IPC alone
AMD Ryzen 9000 series in July New desktop CPUs next month. AMDās next-generation desktop CPU series is set to launch next month. first Radeon GPU with 12V connector
Who even wants that
Just wait for the price to drop. Or wait for the 9600x, I've heard rumours that that one's gonna be amazing and cost about as much as it's predecessor, the 7600x
not as fast as 7800X3D
which is just $40-50 more than 9600X will be
and 2 more cores

I've ordered the 7800x3d
7800X3D is unbeatable in value
thinking about cancelling because it may drop in price?
not even 9000 series can compete with 7800X3D in value
There are always many good reasons to wait with buying PC parts. Because faster/cheaper is always "soon". Listen to them all and you end up never having anything š
Zen 5 is extremely efficient despite using the same IOD as Zen 4
Ryzen 7 9700X only 65W TDP
Ryzen 9 9900X only 120W
idle power draw probably still bad

Dude. I swear to god.
I wonder if I'm just waiting out in defiance thinking the 9800x3d will be much better.
No clue but I can however tell you my Xbox 360 is runnin' a smooth 1240p at 30-40fps
no no, you mean the 9850XAI3D

"it's not just drawing 120 at the top of the screen for a placebo effect" it is tho, interpolating frames isn't giving you better frametimes or reducing latency
at most it's an anti-motion sickness measure

AMD Ryzen 9000 series now official The first wave of Zen5 processors is launching this July.Ā Meet Granite Ridge, AMDās next-generation processors powered by the Zen5 architecture. ofcourse the real deal will be the X3D next year

Did anyone already had to deal with Chrome's awfully bloated (on laptop screens) new UI? You used to be able to turn it off with "Refresh 2023" chrome flags but it got removed.
The only option I see is downgrading and blocking updates (which I might not be able to do), switch browsers, or suck it up. Everything, including tab etiquettes to the right-click context menu has an insane level of padding.
I literally have to SCROLL THROUGH the right-click menu on web pages, it's ridiculous. Thanks
prime day is in june
probably won't affect much the price here in Poland tho
Poland is kinda fucked right now for some reason, we pay the 2nd highest price in the world for video game
only behind Switzerland
dont polan and switzerland make bank though?
theyre spending bank on their military
huh, interesting
just googled it and surprised a lot of countries are behind usa
*first world countries
firefox has css themes that mimic chrome's interface
you could try that I guess, if you really like Chrome's UI
Because manifest V3 is going to be in effect soon, will seriously nerf the capabilities of quite a few useful extensions
Feel like waiting until then to get another drive
But I do kind of need it now though, shouldn't punish myself and wait a whole another month
Ā£102 is already pretty good for 2TB gen4 I guess
i cant imagine drives getting THAT much cheaper
but at the same time expect something like the 7800x3d to only be 50 bucks off
If only I needed it a month ago, it was for £75
idk how it was that low randomly in May
do y'all think there'll be any visible bottleneck with a 9900x(x3d) and an rx 7800 xt at 1080p, maybe 1440p
of course all games maxed out native res'es
Should be fine, though that GPU is pretty similar in perf to the 6800XT at 1080p/1440p. You could try to find one of those for cheap
without a doubt yes, a 7800xt is definitely going to be limited with a potential zen 5 processor
that kind of processor mandates a 4080 or higher, different league of territory
oh, you're right I completely forgot, thank you
np
Iāll just wait for 9800XT3D
Money.
But they're just extra clocked CPUs.
The 5900xt has 16 cores I believe?
Which is unique.
Zen 5 only got 3 minutes of total showtime at CES lol
Must not actually be good
7800X3D mops the floor with it
16% IPC uplift claim but only 10% faster in Far Cry 6 is not a good sign
They also did with zen 2, like 3600XT
Same with arrow lake
Most of the coverage was lunar lake and partners
Yeah I've read about that too, dear god... thank you for the Firefox tip, I guess that's the immediate competitor I should check out vs Chrome; I was told about "Vivaldi" too (as a Chromium-based browser).
well my pickle was with the new bloated Chrome UI, moreso than the manifest; everything is super-padded now on Chrome!

Though they promised they won't deprecate MV2, Chrome is fully replacing it
wow it looks like they want to actually compete in the GPU market
it's exciting
pretty neat stuff
It's almost as if there's competition, companies will actually try their best to deliver the best for your money in the market
there's always a part of the market to compete at
even if its not at high standard one
it just really depends on who you are targetting as potencial customer
Intel do need do their best now too, to actually gain a foothold in the market
thing is, its not cheap nor easy to just make, produce and design a chip from the ground
and just straight up be perfect or good

Intel seems like they still need time to prove themselfs, but they're on the right track
Yeah, they did pretty solid for the first gen I'd say.
Rapid driver updates to maximise performance out of existing cards in games
Someone made a clone of the whole thing as an app on iOS lmao
it's just chatgpt
Yeah I know, but it has the extra features that they claim proved why it couldn't just be an app
with instructions forbidding it from telling the users it's chatgpt
it's pretty funny
nope Firefox just means (for now) since they were 2 years late to adopting MV3 in the first place, they will deprecate MV2, just in a delayed fashion
just as Firefox is late to everything
it is, for them, intel use IFS, their own foundries
MV2 has to be replaced since half the APIs extensions are using have massive gaping holes for security, it's not an option
bet those multi millions in R&D need to have a return
IFS total capital cost is around $10b, millions is like for specific components
They said they'll still support webrequest, basically implementing the best parts of MV3 and not the part people don't like, while still offering options for people
webrequest is just declarativenetrequest, MV2 however will go away regardless, is just a different form of specification implementation
Firefox are only doing it because they didn't adopt the original standard to begin with like every other thing they're a few years late on
I wish they had a dark mode flag like chrome does in its experiments page, much quicker than using an extension.
Yeah it has a selective option that worked pretty well last time I used it.
Firefox used to have quite a few features years ago but then they removed them citing that not many people used them
Like the mobile app supporting quite a few desktop extensions as well
I do use a fork of the mobile browser now that brings back the functionality, as well as suspending tabs to avoid them being killing to free memory - another feature they removed from the mobile browser
firefox exists purely due to google so, there you go on why
Yeah, paying them to be the default option for search engine
FirefoxOS
I think itās weird they didnāt show many details when it launches in just a month
Ryzen 9000 performance looks to be game dependent, some games just a few % faster than 7700X/7950X, other games over 20% faster
as usual
I'm seriously thinking about just getting a mid gen mobo with the 7800x3d.
because it's not the x3d parts
they always do cross comparisons with each not vice versa, just wait till that
everytime i try to open a ticket or start a live chat with nvidia support i get permission denied
is something up with their site right now or is it just me?
Havent bought enough
Just tell em you got 500 shares into the company

it works now, i think their site was overloaded with people trying to claim those 3 months of free gamepass from nvidia

stockholders are literally trying to bribe Nvidia to stop making gaming GPUs because they don't make near as much money as AI GPUs
as a shareholder yes this is what i want them to do
It's super alienating when the company that you've known for years for gaming goes into this.
Like oh gaming takes the back seat like oh right. :|
It makes sense that they would prioritize making hardware for robots and AI used in warehouses and industries
Gaming is their least valuable market for the past few years now and itās costing them billions in shares to keep making GeForce GPUs
Time to put all my copium towards Intel maybe standing a chance in like 5 years

But they'll likely just stop making new generations every 2 years, we could probably be waiting double the amount perhaps between gens
intel seems to be on track to keep their usual annual launches for the next 3 years at least
Well, since its a trend. Iam not surprised
Yeah I'm not surprised one bit either.
Now a days anything that says AI and idk Intelligent I guess it sells
Nvidia for this case just was on the right place at the right time
because they've been selling GPU for machine learning and AI research and development for years
since the whole chat GPT trend and AI booming out of nowhere the need for hardware has its big demand
can I pair the rx 7800 xt with the 7800x3d? with no visible bottleneck on 1080p max settings on fh5, gta 5, red dead 2, flight sim 2020 and hogwarts legacy
yes
awesome, thank you so much
you can pair it, there's no such thing as not having a bottleneck, you will have it either way at 1080p
Thing is I don't exactly mind them doing it for business sake but it just feels likew this whole shove it down our throats deal.
I meant any visible one, no stuttering, freezing, lagging, fps dropping, tankin, stuff like that
you're going to have that either way, some games are just worse than others, hogleg etc
Well, alright
At least I hope it won't be (that) bad, cause this shit is expensive AFFF
7800XT is a mid-range 1440p GPU, should be excellent at 1080p ultra settings
A 7800x3d won't bottleneck for years dw
7800X3D wonāt bottleneck at 1080p unless you got like a 4080 or better
7900XTX wouldnāt get bottlenecks at 1080p iirc
Nvidia GPUs suffer more from CPU bottleneck at lower resolutions
Can anyone help with resolving stutters?
I have a 4070 and R5 5600 paired with 2X16 & NVMEs. I plat at 1440p.
I had the same issue I used to have a 4070 paired w a 5600x and at 1440 and I switched to a 7900x bc I getting bottlenecked like a mf
Alright, thank y'all so much
damn, no added latency compared to 2x interpolation
Did you see a noticeable difference
the claim is slightly misleading
he is talking about specifically compared to a 2 frame buffer, that is by adding an additional in the interpolation buffer there is no measured difference relative to 2, as a baseline from the framerate increase, which there will never be because it's scales anyways, the problem with (this post) is interpolation of frame insertion will always add a baseline latency difference compared to running that framerate at native which is there, it's essentially a frame smoother rather than a frame booster
it is deceptive for the author to claim "additional latency" because it's not taking about native, just measuring compared to the number of frame buffers, there will still be latency regardless for this
I think that's what he meant, no? As interpolation will always add lag, just that 3x wouldn't be laggier than 2x
absolutely
i can run mw3 at a stable 200fps on all max
what he meant is (tripling the framerate at no latency penalty), which is the deceptive part
interpolation has latency inherently, which is the issue primarily
cool technology, still has the problems inherit with generation like screen tearing if vsync isn't used, so how useful it is, is going to be deterministic per game
im using the built in overclocker in the latest version of nvidia app which is supposed to scan for the best possible overclock for my card. wonder if it will work out
it's pointless, you're going to get 2% at best

Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at Microsoft Recall and actually get our hands on it. not this guy
So it's just a tool that demonstrates how unencrypted recall is
Storing metadata in plaintext on a sqlite database
Easy access to the screencaps too
This authentication will also apply to the data protection around the snapshots that Recall creates. āWe are adding additional layers of data protection including ājust in timeā decryption protected by Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) so Recall snapshots will only be decrypted and accessible when the user authenticates,ā explains Davuluri. āIn addition, we encrypted the search index database.ā
not anymore lol
not anymore, after they got caught for it
pretty much
I do think it's an interesting feature, I'll wait for competitors to come out with ones that don't require Internet access and are open sourced
But right now I don't get people getting scared, it doesn't affect them at all unless they really wanted to get an arm laptop
dont expect a "open source" copilot anytime soon lol
these types of features need millions in investment to come to fruition
True
That is what the stability AI founder and (now former) head was talking about a few weeks ago
VC funding just isn't enough compared to how much money MS is willing to throw at openAI
They're running quickly through what they have from what I've heard
they have a $10b deal with openai, no company can compete with that
I mean $10 billion was last year wasn't it. They'll throw more whenever they need to too.
it was a deal in perpetuity, not a single year type shenanigan
oh

https://siliconangle.com/2024/06/07/microsoft-makes-windows-recall-feature-opt-following-cybersecurity-concerns/ @pale quartz some good news previously it was on by default
Here are the changes Microsoft is making to Windows Recall:
First, we are updating the set-up experience of Copilot+ PCs to give people a clearer choice to opt-in to saving snapshots using Recall. If you donāt proactively choose to turn it on, it will be off by default.
Second, Windows Hello enrollment is required to enable Recall. In addition, proof of presence is also required to view your timeline and search in Recall.
Third, we are adding additional layers of data protection including ājust in timeā decryption protected by Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) so Recall snapshots will only be decrypted and accessible when the user authenticates. In addition, we encrypted the search index database.

Nvidia is based again

China boycotting nvidia would literally be killing their entire tech sector
both commercial and military
not the case actually
I mean they have SIMC
china has had an ambition to have the majority of their tech be home grown for a few years now, SMIC and others are juggernauts inside china, this policy has been brewing for a bit
Even if it is quite behind

ill have to upgrade to win11 when i get a new cpu at this rate
but do i get a new one before AC shadows

i mostly use linux now so it wont effect me
we were mocking that earlier
Hello do i get 120 fps on ps5 for BF1?
And is there a version of BF1 for ps5 or just the ps4 one?
no
PS4 only, there is no ps5 version
I saw TheBrokenMachine( youtuber ) saying that you get 120fps. But he was on Xbox series X . Could that be a thing? Just xbox having 120fps option?
And bf 2042 has 120fps ? I want to buy it and i would like to know before..
Xbox has backwards compatibility, the playstation does not, 2042 doesn't run at 120 it only runs at 60 on the consoles
if you want 120 you'll need to play on pc, they're just not powerful enough
Ok⦠thanksā¦
You need a series X, 120hz monitor/tv to run 120 fps on the series X.
You go into the app settings from the Home Screen and select fps boost option.
Yeah , i have ps5 , and monitor 240hz , i thought i can get 120fps on BF1/2042 too not just on xbox..
It also needs to be the series S|X version also of the game
yeah you can't, it's not supported on playstation
Oof PS5
2042 does not support 120 on the Xbox, it's only due to backwards compatibility, they are still both 60 on either (variable)
On the series s and x, you can run 120 fps for 2042. It just have to be the new gen version of the game.
no I mean the game will never hit it
it will float between 60 and 120, but the game isn't static as a 1% target for 120
the hardware just isn't there to support that level of rasterisation in the most demanding situations
Anyway , i saw how good ia even on 60fps on Maxiq on youtube , and i honestly thought is 120.
And now for sale is a version that says PS5/PS4 for BF2042, is that the right one for ps5 or should i just get a ps5 version if i find?
they are both the same
It does, it lowers the res abit to hit 120 fps
For example 1440p. It lowers it to 1080p res
I'm assuming if you care about quality, if you factor in downscaling then yes it will
but it looks like ass in the process
Thatās how FPS Boost feature works for Xbox series
It allows you to up to 120fps on 120hz
128 on the Xbox will downscale to 720p/900p sometimes and it turns into a pixelated mess, but can't help mediocre hardware I suppose
I think the 120 FPS mode only hits the series S.
Thatās why people recommend using it on higher res monitors/tvs that supports 120hz
Wait my bad this is about 2042.
Both series S and X consoles
it is supported on both consoles, but downscaling isn't linear across both
Thatās only if the game supports FPS boost feature on the Xbox.
the series s has much rougher ones
No what i was meaning to say there was that on 120 FPS mode on older titles like 5 and shit I know that the S is more affected than the X.
Ah yeah.
I know on bf5 I definitely felt the hit.
But
Silky smooth.
(Stones!)
2042 and destiny 2 for the fps boost felt amazingly smooth. I felt like I was playing on my pc ngl
60hz feels so choppy to me. Itās wild that Iām not used to 60hz/60fps on console/pc games anymore, unless Iām on the steam deck kek
Thatās for PS5. It does the same thing like Xboxās FPS boost feature
Degrade quality either by graphics, and/or res
For more performance aka fps to make it more smoother and hit 120 fps if running 120hz
the series s is going to need to be ditched by some games sooner or later for better graphics, hardware disparity just is a chasm between them
One day but people mainly buy the series S tho lol
they do and why Microsoft made a mistake launching the console to begin with
Itās crazy how much people go for the series S in general tbh
Itās a way to bring in players to next gen era, due to it being cheap and affordable.
Wym a mistake?
getting sales then and setting themselves up for a problem years down the line (now)
I see what you mean for devs and future games.
Although devs can make it series X exclusive. If the game is demanding enough not to run decently on series S.
they already have and/or made separate versions for the s
but it's going to get much worse
Devs can make it not release on series S. Is what Iām saying
Yet we have devs still make games for PS4/ OG Xbox one consoles. And they are on their last leg
didnt MS say you have to make your game work for both S/X though
that hasnt changed afaik
MS said that?
Dam if so.
Even if they did allow devs to not make games for series S. Thatās a lot of money they be losing out on ngl. Since most of next gen Xbox player base is series S.
"All game titles targeting a console generation must support the entire family of devices for that generation."
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/gaming/gdk/_content/gc/policies/console/certification-requirements
I mean šŖ most games handles very well on series S.
Not defending but letās see how Microsoft does the next gen console era. If itās gonna have a single version or 2 versions of it.
parity is enforced, yeah
But sometimes they do make exceptions, like Baldur's gate 3 didn't launch with co-op on series s
That is true^
until the game is popular enough then exceptions apply
imagine how gta 6 will be hit by this
i have a series s but if i have to get a x for gta 6 i will
another game taking the L because of hardware restrictions
consoles ruining it again for us
fr fr
blame Nvidia for making expensive GPUs
Hey guys! I have a problem with launching BFV. Everytime i boot the game, it just closes and reopens the EA app. WHat to do?
Load it from steam
thats what im doing š¤·š»āāļø
Im not an expert but I'm pretty sure that there is something in your files that tell you errors and stuff
I would try that
Yeah tbh if you looked at first game when it revealed it amazes you with how insane it looked but the new kcd2 doesn't have that, don't get me wrong it looks great but that wow with first game visuals are missing and funny thing first game got downgraded a bit

(except 12th gen, fuck 12th gen)
9700X and 9900X both have lower TDP than 7700X and 7900X
interesting
im confused
why are they releasing the 9700x before the 9800x? dont they normally do the x800x first?
apparently not...
Yeah 800 is now reserved for x3d.
ok so im not losing it
Honestly the x800x3ds will always be worth a grab since they'll be on a single CCD.
Unless you really need those cores. The 800's are the best you can get.
What iems yall use for battleifeld 2042?
GeForce RTX 50 Blackwell GPU series leaked Kopite7kimi reveals configurations of all RTX 50 GPUs.Ā Last week, Kopite7kimi hinted that the configuration of the GB203 GPU is different from what was previously thought. Instead of 96 Streaming Multiprocessors, the actual design has 84 SMs. Despite our best efforts, the leaker did not confirm the exa...
GB203 is weak
GB202 is the only big upgrade
so the 5080 will be barely much of an upgrade
unless they change 5080 into a (very) cut-down version of GB202, it's a small increment upgrade over 4080 Super
5090 is already cut-down a lot on GB202
doesn't even have full memory bus
if 5090 is 448-bit memory then 5080 would need to be upgraded as well to at least 320-bit
5090 on 512-bit is not happening because of market dominance and yields
Based on specs from leaks, the 5090 could easily be over 2x faster than the 5080 in rasterization or raw gaming
could they have kept the 5080 like this because of sanctions
Can't sell anything more powerful than the chinese 4090 to them
inadvertently leading to a gimped 5080
thought the article had some decent benchmarks to see the performance and its full of pointless shit no one cares about
not even transistor number or TDP
if you're someone who upgrades every year for whatever reason yes. For those who upgrade every 3-4 years its a very good GPU
But what's the point when the 4080S exists just fine
3090 you mean
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D officially faster than Ryzen 9 9700X Don Waligroski (AMD) confirms the difference will be smaller than expected, but the current-gen X3D CPU will be faster.Ā Perhaps this is why AMD is rumored to be launching its Ryzen 9000X3D series much sooner than expected. The latest rumors suggest the new X3D desktop [ā¦]
yeah i read some rumors some days ago that the 9000x3d cpus might release in september
sell the old units first
keep prices high with maybe some AI shit on the 5000 series
make only the top tier relevant for a while
then releave all the Ti's and shit what not
if you have an excuse to have the previous gen at lower price and quick sell for a small profit with the new ones thats how you do it
its what they do with anything in the hardware market tbh lol
I'm getting my next paycheck tomorrow so I'm including the Amd CPU the Ryzen 7800x3d but the motherboard I'm divided on
I'm looking at a x670 aorus elite AX and the B650 Asus ROG strife
So currently they cost the same
Both are on sale with the x670 being 23 percent off and the b650 being 15 percent off
The b650 is white which matches the PC case but the x670 is supposedly better in performance but in black
And again both are currently the same price
Honestly the x670's is worth a go for since it's the same price as the b650. In the saying of that. X670's usually come with higher quality ports. As in they can support higher speed ssds and come with more upgraded usb ports.
*As far as I understand them.
I would avoid ASUS motherboards purely out just incase by the way.
got it.
An old bios bug would over volt and overheat CPUs to the point where they would implode.
Yeah so I'm ordering the 7800x3d CPU and the x670 aorus elite later today when my paycheck is revived
Because both are having noticeable sales bringing the cost total from 738 to 561
This should put me around almost 1k spent as that PC case was 380
SK hynix GDDR7 in Q1 2025 at earliest AnandTech had an opportunity to ask an SK hynix representative when the company is expected to start shipping next-gen consumer graphics memory, the GDDR7, in volume. According to the company representative, this should happen at the beginning of 2025. SK hynix was among the largest memory makers [ā¦]
Damn, that cooling is a lot for an arm porcessor
This is what im getting for my next paycheck. Which has the monitor, GPU, and storage the only things left,
What case are you getting
The 4090
The hyte y70 touch infinite which I preorded couple weeks ago
Should come july
going all out for the case
Rog strife 4090 is the GPU I'm getting
The white one I presume?
you cant run that memory, fclk on zen 4 maxes at 6000 for guaranteed stability, youll need to downclock it or get a different kit
Oh really
yes
So this should work instead
yes itll be fine
the memory doesnt matter since you have the 7800x3d essentially anyways
Wouldn't the system do it itself?
oh
Ye
That's going to look clean then
I saw the power supply and thought "are they going all out?"
Sadly the only thing that I couldn't find to be white was the x670 aorus elite
Who knows to be honest. You may end up liking white and black.
Especially one that was on sale
The power supply being big is more on so I don't have to worry about it later on
just futureproofing for future Nvidia cards obviously
When 2000W will become the minimum
With the 5000 series around the corner
Also this bad boy is on mega sale
I'm getting the 2tb version
Jesus fuck.
I don't think I've ever seen a white nvme before
The 2TB version is 300
Depending on the power draw I may not need to upgrade my power supply.
Not even on sale
I would use that as a secondary drive to be honest.
Get like a 500 gig boot drive and put everything in there.
Yeah I saw 12 GBS write speed like
Holy shit.
I am having a Hard drive for files and shit
never do this*
This is the GPU I'm getting
No 500 gig boot drive? To he fair I wouldn't do the same either but lots of space in secondary.
One of the many versions of it. Trying to find a white one but honestly I could just go for a regular 4090
Save money for the monitor
drive endurancy is written by TBW, a 500gb drive will last 4x less in lifetime than a 2tb one, never a good idea
I don't think I've ever seen a white one around msrp
yeah you wont mostly
So for a white one, not bad
custom spray
Not even the most expensive btw
Yeah it will be a month or two until I get the chance
I need to have everything before I get the gpu
I could just buy the Rog GPU straight from the Nvidia store. Save a couple bucks and time
theyre generally easier for dealing with warranties if it comes to it aswell direct through the store
Will I be buying cables or will some of the items provide with the cables
a white build isnt completel without white cables
Rgb cable.
your psu will have the cables bundled with it, do not use third party ones
it is not safe to do so
Gotcha
doesnt cable mod actually do the right pin outs?
pins for cables are different per manufacturer to each other, the 12vph connector cable will have custom moldings for that specific sku
yes, thats is exactly what im talking about with pin outs and cable mod
the gamemax rampage psu will use different circuitry to another, etc
lol dont trust cablemod
they literally just done a safety recall of their 12vph connectors because it was burning gpus
if i didnt buy products that had a recall id live on the floor
dirt floor to be specific
Red and purmple
Thanks observer you've made me think more about how i want to do my next pc kek.
what monitor were you looking at?
Alienware 32 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor
With I think it was a 240 hz
Pricing is around 1,200
I'll be able to be at a safe spot on my savings around august in order to buy the gpu and the monitor
Safe spot as having around or more than 3k in my account.
i have a 3070ti with a ryzen 7 5700g. Would yall suggest upgrading cpu or just wait til am5 sockets and ddr5 are necessary?
There's either this. You get the 7800x3d now which is on sale or you can wait until the end of the year when 9000x3d will be releasing.
Which by the way.
but thats an am5 socket. im on a rog b550-f
Yeah you will need to get a new mobo
depends what you play, whats your display, and what you want
I would say hey 5800x3d sure but kinda. If you want shit to last a 7800x3d will be very good.
ultragear 1440, 160
Will I be able to upgrade the Amd CPU with the x670 elite
what MB yall recommned. im playing 1440 games such as BF2042, WZ, Fortnite
Am5 will be used for a bit yeah.
Oops ping on.
It's fine. I honestly keep forgetting that there was a ping off option
@pale quartz computer mang do you know if Zen 6 will be on am5?
I just hope the new cpus are actually better than the 7800x3d
yes, from what I'm hearing
is your performance not up to what you want?
There ya go. While you need to grain it with a grain of salt it's safe to assume that.
My 5800x3d in gaming is better than regular as 7000 series in cpu heavy games.
It only loses to your x3d.
Holy shit I think my current monitor is 1080p
Essentially.
no the 5800x3d loses to the 7600x in most situations
it only wins in cache bound situations
Yeah I pretty much attempted to imply that.
Time to invest in a 3440x1440 ultrawide
What I'm making is equivalent to moving from a mark 1 tank to a tiger tank
Thinking about live streaming the building process in a VC maybe here or in 2043 discord server
That sounds fun.
Who was that guy who a year or two ago talked about their building here and spent weeks doing it and freaking out about it the whole time
It was stressful just reading their posts

Got it

14700K or 7800X3D
Something tells me to get Intel because of reliability
You won't be able to upgrade it to a new cpu unless you upgrade the motherboard
I think the Intel cpus are on its last set
I might need to focus more on finding a quality motherboard than worrying about CPU tbh
need the best audio codec
current Gigabyte X570SI motherboard has audio stutter (so did my previous Gigabyte AB350) and it makes it annoying to listen to music but isn't as noticeable in games
AMD platform has more bugs than Intel, something many people don't consider
That one is curved unlike the 27 1440p
You're sure you want a curved monitor? @mystic flax
Just got notification that my motherboard has been shipped and my CPU delivery has been delayed
is it better to get a motherboard with no cpu...or the other way around
I believe having both separate is a better choice
i try to buy my stuff on local shops so i dont have to deal with delivery and stuff, becomes so messy if something is up with any of the products and you have to send them back
tfw 2 hrs away from nearest MC, which makes it questionable if worth it
ah true i live in a city with stores just minutes away from me
might be another thing if u live far away

ironically the only time ive had anything defecting was when i bought local xD
haha
im probably the reason my local fry electronics went out of business
oh was it an entire shipment of defect products?
no, i abused their 30 day return policy
oh
probably tried at least 5 mice in a few months once
tbf i actually really didnt like the mice i tried too
only time ive returned something that wasnt broken was a pair of headphones who were so tight that it cut off my blodflow so i got dizzy
otherwise i try to keep what i use
i put the headphones on and got a headache and dizzyness at once
lol
sounds like sennheiser clamp kind of tight
ye it was a sennheiser gaming headphone
i got sennheiser now aswell but theyre not at all that tight
pc37x?
ye i think so
now i have sennheiser hd560s tho
theyre amazing
only problem is the lack of a mic
my 58x and 6xx had too much of a clamp, i put them around a soccer ball for a few days
jelly
i almost grabbed them when they were 150 bucks
Speaking of headphones I need to buy ones that are made for gaming, I'm stuck with a small speaker
The speaker is good quality but it does shit in terms of location
rtings.com got alot of good reviews and comparisons
headphones/mic or headset? if headset wired or wireless?
Probably headset
Probably a black shark version
Gotta have that THX quality
Love THX
cool
i always check with rtings first then i go to some audio store to check if i like the product myself
wired or wireless
Wireless
Razer black shark v2 pro wireless
Not sure what channel mixing is
not a lot of open back headsets, let alone for wireless
you can go between more voice volume or more game volume
Ok
i wonder what the sennheiser HE-1 are like. people claim they start crying from the pure emotion the headphones bring. they cost 60k usd tho so i doubt anyone would let me try them
Hello guys
I m thinking about upgrading my cpu and motherboard
I have a rtx3080oc
And a i5 10600kf
Motherboard and ram shouldent be a concern i want to buy someting good and 32 gb of ram ddr5
Any recommendations?
I m doing 3D as well and need someting powerful but not crazy expensive. For cpu maybe 350 euros max
Mainly for bf 5
7600 I would recommend. You'll need a new motherboard and that but that goes with it.
Amd 7600.
I checked out that as well
7700 is really good if you need cores.
Is there a big difference between 7600 and 7600x ?
Erm the x is clocked in a specific way.
I would say go for the X as you won't have to worry much about it.
Maybe this would be better
I m doing also 3D planing but rn the cpu can handle it so i think there shouldet be a problem with even the 7600x
And any intel cpu?
Or amd is overall better?
I'd say 13700.
I have a bias for amd because i think there's more longevity with them
When the next generation is coming out? Is there any news? Or is it good to buy it now?
You get your 7700x you can in the future give it a 11700x and all you'll need is a BIOS update.
Erm
It really depends.
Zen 5 is on the horizon
Zen 4 is still super good.
I need to upgrade mainly for gaming but i can wait if it is for the better
It'll be better yeah.
Though my concern is that it may not be within your budget.
You want cores, right?
Okey i will wait and play as little as possible on 128
For 3D would be great
But rn what i have i can do it as well but it is slower
Mainly i need stronger cpu for balancing out the gpu
I'd say wait for the 9700x if that's the case.
ššš
I would easily say wait for the 9800x3d but its not within your budget.
7800x3d will still be a super great CPU.
X3d is fucking great.
Dont realy want to pay too much for the pc in all
Mainly becuase i had lots of expensive purchuses becuase of 3D
Yeah.
But thank you for the recommendations :DD
I will! Thank you.

The new Adreno X1 series is the first generation of integrated graphics for the X-series SoCs for W...
Qualcomm is Intel's biggest threat
It would take at least a decade for Qualcomm to make something to compete with high-end x86 CPUs tho
Snapdragon X Elite gets a lot of hype but realistically, it's slower than the A14 Bionic chip in the iPhone 12
doesn't even come close to M1
Tuxedo put a lot of cooling for it š
It's a Samsung issue, not to do with Qualcomm
Samsung Book4 Edge laptop with Snapdragon X Elite was only doing 2.5 GHz boost when it should do 4 GHz
but even with that huge reduction in boost clocks, the battery life is still worse than a MacBook Air
Skill issue

7950X3D is under $500 now, matching price of non-3D variant
shiiiiet
I'll wait for 9950X3D to drop so 7950X3D goes under 400
rumors have it that the 9000x3d cpus might release as early as september, so not that far away if true
Has to be custom recovery

they been selling bad past few weeks so they discount them by $150-200
I've seen them selling at around 500
Ally X is a pretty big upgrade at double the battery capacity
Ally 2023 has 16GB at 6400 MT/s while the new Ally X has 24GB at 7500 MT/s
Oh yeah, for games like cities skylines, that would be great
it won't make a difference in a way that matters to CS
both games are engine bottlenecked because it doesn't use multithreading, aka it's hyper (single core) processor bound, the developers lied and said this would be fixed for the second but it never was
If you want to install mods, it does
Which at this point for C:S is kind of required if you want a more enjoyable experience
unfortunately yeah
though with the ally there is a point not being mentioned here that it draws some 100 or so watts, so double battery capacity won't translate to 2x duration, much less on the linear scale
Yeah, I never expected something as huge as 2x battery life
Would be more like 1.5x right?
assuming same specifications yes it would be roughly that, though the main caveat here is power targets haven't been revealed afaik for the ally x, so it could be less, it will impact idle usage mainly (in theory, you get to charge it less if you're not putting it constantly under games)
battery scaling only really applies to mobile platforms because of the comparatively tiny wattage draw across them
what extremely niche group of people would want that?
"Our GPUs tend to come with faulty fans that break after a few months usage, you can now replace them" - XFX
I see absolutely nothing wrong with making replaceable fans. They are the typical cause of RMAs for any GFX card.
However, just make it standard fans
During Computex, several motherboard vendors complained to tech journalists that they are blamed by Intel for the CPU instability situation

Forget, adding a way to limit power

Agreed, I think fans fail more than the hardware itself unless its a 2000 gpu then start replacing caps since the 2000s were plagued with crappy caps
Tbh. I kinda wish I could buy graphics cards with just the heatsink and mounting spots for 120/140mm fans. Then let myself buy some proper chunky Noctua fans.
better than teabagging
(I don't know what they mean by "sandbagging" in this context)
sandbagging can mean to make something look worse than it really is
they did it with 5000 series iirc
claimed Zen 3 was 15% faster than Zen 2 when it was really like 25%
Makes sense
There's a thread about that.

XDA mods already closed and pulled nearly all the threads for elixir
For context, it wiped your entire phone if you tried to bypass the paygate to unlock more 'modifications'

Bruh
Intel cores run hot on laptops wtf
My mum just got a laptop with a 13620 and under the slightest load the fans go BRRR
fan curves on intel laptops are aggressive since they use turbo frequencies (boost) for single core clocks
theyre also excluding the very new releases just not that efficient either

you don't need a heatsink for smaller drives
unless you're running a 5.0 drive you probably don't it for 4.0 drives either, subject to specific models

Isnt the 22110 more of a server type m2?
Nice, you gonna live the performance that boy can reach
ent rather than servers, they're found on OEM boards
hum, interesting. I knew they existed but never knew the actual purpose of the size
but again I guess with the 2280 being kinda of the industry standard for consumers
the rest I think has its own purposes or cases
there isn't so much a use case, per say
I think I remember
the 2230 was found mostly in laptops but wasnt as a storage unit
but as a bluetooth or wifi module
as I alluded to yesterday NVMe, including the size has everything to do with cell condensing on the NAND, the larger the drive is the less it costs (log n) relative to base costs to include more storage on a single (double or single sided) drive, the 2280 standard is just the best for consumer boards in relation to compromise between board take up space and (the above), 2230 is in laptops because physical sizes, and 22110 is used in enterprise as costs don't particularly matter for them from the beginning so manufacturers can use the most premium standard for that sort of clientele
if something like 2230 was standard on the board setup then consumer drives would be higher etc, that's not to say you can't use 2230 drives on a 2280, it's just a offset key standard, they're all cross compatible with each other (as long as the drive is <= the board standard used)

nvidia app is so glitchy to me, i try to set rtx hdr on for a single game and it keep changing every game in my list to rtx hdr even tho i dont change in global settings
annoying
3.3 trillion dollar company, can't design simple app
you do have auto HDR disabled in windows right
because they can't both be on at the same time
i have auto hdr on but i try to enable rtx hdr on a game where auto hdr isnt working
you cannot do this it has to disabled entirely
alright
RTX HDR will not apply whatsoever if auto HDR is on in windows, and vice versa
if it's on then auto HDR will apply to the game not RTX hdr
didnt know , thanks
the problem still occur tho, if i turn on rtx hdr on a non auto recognised game every other non recognised game get rtx hdr on aswell. the games that nvidia app list on its own isnt effected tho
you can try reinstalling the Nvidia app, it's probably triggering because you had auto HDR on to begin with, but just a guess

gen4x4

What's with the x number thing?
PCIe Lane count
X4 = 4 lanes
X2 = two lanes
Two PCIe 5.0 lanes is equal to four PCIe 4.0 lanes in bandwidth
I use a PCIe gen 4 drive in a gen 3 mobo
ngl PCIe 5.0 is massively overkill to the needs of general consumers, even PCIe 3.0 storage is still perfectly fine for most people
Neutering it a bit
gen 4 had some new features but I don't think gen 5 introduced any
i enjoy my gen4 nvme i often reach my maxspeeds of 7300MB/s when installing games on steam etc, i guess the process would be even faster if it was a gen 5
on a gen 5 mobo ofc
doesn't work the way you think
steam and others don't use on demand file storage they use a block based mechanism to store the entire download then decompress and install the game at once, your internet speed isn't relevant to it
regardless it's more to do with SLC cache than bandwidth itself, if you install a absolutely massive game that's a few hundred GB's, sustained bandwidth will crash after a certain amount has been processed
My laptop drive is decent
Meanwhile my OS drive on my desktop is still an intel 600p

after the initial download is done and it start installing etc the nvme goes up to max. but no i only got 300mb/sec
