sort of not exactly they were able to use quantum entanglement to transport a particle from earth to space faster than light
that does sound pretty scary tbh
is what it was
i think i would be unlucky and turn out like the guy in that movie The Fly
some horrible teleportation accident
We're already capable of teleportation, it's not just in sci-fi movies
getting a human to teleport, not so much
when i was younger i had this vision of a perfect resort where u used different type of sphere like greenhouses to regulate temps but that still let in sunlight and air to bring down different perfect temps in cities beaches or mountains alike depending if u wanted to shop, take a sunbath or go up into the mountains and go down slopes. that could be built no matter where u were on earth. could it work?
it was mostly because i was so tired of the horrible weather here in sweden lol
The Eden Project (Cornish: Edenva) is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England. Back well from Nvidia is wild asf. AMD and Intel got years to catch up.
Bruh. We are living in NVIDIA’s world for years now.
The Ai. Looks fucking amazing ngl
nvidia might get us so far, but what about when we need to leave earth behind
thats when elon got us
lol
It’s insane how far they push technology every generation. Intel and AMD should give up or team up to compete.
If they mash up it’s gonna be AmTel or Sum like that
did u read about elons project neuralink enabling a patient to play chess by only using his mind
Bruh, what? That’s narly asf
anyone have any clue why I can't run battlefield games I've bought on steam? I seem to be able to run bad company 2 but anything after that won't launch, I've tried everything I can think of, from running as admin to completely reinstalling the games and both steam and the EA app. (although the EA app never properly uninstalls.)
tbh, that in itself is nothing new tbh
I also can't seem to find any obvious way to contact ea support lol

that doesn't help
it does
ok, so explain how I contact a support member?
contact the ea support chat
how?
help.ea.com shows nothing relevant
wat
it goes through BS and doesn't show any relevant way to contact someone
literally try for yourself
I don't want a refund I want the games to work
:/
like it should not be this hard to contact ea regarding an issue like this
now why isn't this link in this
or on the help.ea.com page
u get there by selecting options from help.ea.com
ah I see, but my issue isn't related to my account
it's the ea app being utterly crap
selecting EA app does nothing to contact.
.
it only lets me put a subject on the issue too.
no description or anything
and I just got 3 emails saying congratulations on some EA anniversary thing
well theres no support here , so thats what u got
u can contact a support through chat or mail or the forums
how?
the site shows nothing relevant to any of that
and if there's something it's hidden like a damn needle in a haystack
this channel isnt for tech support with the game
point me to a place that lets me actually get any support on my issue. I'll wait.
not in this channel lol
I've been waiting for multiple hours
not on the website either clearly lol
still haven't heard back
so uh, this is clearly the only way to get any sort of support
not really
kinda funny how a software engineer can't engineer some help
yet I've searched before asking here
apparently not even the support team at EA
apparently 8 min's is more than a day
They will reply eventually
why's it say approximately 8 mins if it's not even under the hour
gotta try it on the daylight
you can calculate the time.
that doesn't change the fact it said 8 mins from exactly when I clicked the button.
plus you'd assume EA would have multiple locations providing support
ok
Are there people that have a problem with thier HDR looks washed out on BF2042? I finally found a solution for me after more then a year. Anyone wants to try it out?
1.Look up Battlefield2042 in file explorer
2.Right click BF2042.exe(not al have .exe)
3.Go to properties
4.Go to compatibility
5. Check the box "use legacy display ICC color management"
6. Then Apply
nice
i read alot of people who complained about hdr not working in the ea forums a while back
maybe contrast settings too idk
i dont know, it is fine on every game except with BF2042 and i have red online i am not the only one
not sure
weird
although it could possibly be an issue with the game, Afterall the entire game was rushed to launch
if that fixes it though it's pretty good
yeah with HDR on it looked washed out and more greyish. Without HDR it looked fine but well not HDR xD went over al settings and checked my hardware and monitor. Its a wierd thing because it was fine everywere but not in BF2042. Other batllefields had no problems
yeah, I guess it could just be a 2042 thing
they should have just delayed the games release by 6 months to allow it to release in the best possible state
rushing a games development never ends well
are you using w11 with hdr on and have a calibrated hdr profile? i did that at once when i got a hdr monitor and it seem to work fine
I mean if it's just 2042 it's likely something related to the game rather than a setting elsewhere idk
even if it's just using an incompatible colour profile
yes, win11 and HDR calibrated
im not sure about the calibrator tho, i could go up to over 2000 nits before the cross disspeared. they claim my monitor got quantum hdr 2000 but still. i set a lower value
this RX 6800 is the best value GPU but beware, many people are getting defective ones
maybe why they're so cheap
Maybe it's because it's not from a well known reputable brand
I wouldn't care for ram or an nvme but I'd care where I'm buying my gpu from
I think AMD is purposely giving XFX the bad silicon
I think they do that with Gigabyte too
they are not "given" silicon, AIBs need to buy it off Radeon and Nvidia
or intel

we already know they're planning to launch one lol
which phone should i buy samsung s24/s24 plus or iphone 15?
im waiting for google pixel 8a if u wanna save some money
depends on what you like, if you like the iOS ecosystem then get the 15, if you don't care the s24
i never had an iphone or anything from apple
just get the s24 then
i mean i know s24 is better, but still idk maybe i would like IOS
Is nokia C13 decent?
if you want to try the iOS ecosystem, don't use a new phone that's for sure
buy an old one
iOS doesn't allow piracy or adblockers (unless using third party browsers) which is why I still use an android despite having an iPhone as my main phone with service
i dont care about that, i only use phones for calls, sms, social media and mail. Take pictures sometimes
have only a few apps installed
any phone can pull that off
get a old iPhone if you want to try the ecosystem it's a expensive investment otherwise
no need to get a flagship
best of the line
i have xiaomi redmi 10 note pro right now, its works perfectly fine..i just want a new phone i guess
iPhone 11 is $199 new at Walmart, though iPhone 12 at $299 is a better option because of the brighter OLED screen
the one big con that may disway you either way is the iPhone still doesn't support 120hz
it's on the Samsung and has been for a while now
but make your own decision
i got it on my xiaomi too, but didnt even knew it for a year. Its was turned off
Only the iPhone 13 Pro and above have 120Hz screen, regular 13 is just 60Hz
for me its more important how the phone looks on te outside. And both samsung and iphone are beatiful
Standard iPhone 14 is a lot better than the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max
not in the same way you'd expect, the Samsung uses a adaptive refresh rate where it'll switch by itself to 120 and then downscale on the fly etc, your current one is static
does refreshrate really matter if ure not gaming on them?
yes
I like a static refresh rate tbh
it makes a significant difference to the quality of a phone
interesting
okey
animations and transitions are (2x) smoother and it feels much better to use overall
ah true
how long is an iphone usable?
as in lifespan?
less than your current one, iPhone batteries are much smaller so they die faster, support though for updates you're talking over 5+ of support
cuz in my country we usualy buy phone trought biding with a phone company. So phone are much cheaper with that and you are playing every month for two years
and people usualy change phone after 2 years
Best way to extend the endurance of a battery is by not letting it run out completely but also never fully charging it too
it will last 2 years, you'll notice a severe degradation in the battery life in that period though
if phone longevity is a priority then don't buy it
Iirc screen brightness affects battery endurance
it doesn't

higher brightness just consumes more battery life, which increases the amount of cells that needs to be recharged
it doesn't have a direct effect on the endurance
these are hardware limitations at the end of the day, the smaller the battery is the faster it dies
thank you. its good to hear from different people

Also don't iPhone processors generally use less power than Android? And I'm sure iOS is more hardware-efficient than Android too
iOS has great optimization
yes it is
but this is charging, not the consumption of the hardware
Fast-charging is the biggest issue for battery endurance
but why does this matter? like what are people doing it with it?
it's not
fast charging has a negligible difference to the health of a battery, they will all enact slow charging past 80/90% to maintain integrity
Less likely to encounter glitches on iOS and apps might be optimized better for iOS especially some music ones
the biggest "issue" of how long a battery can last is the size (mAH) of the battery, nothing else or more
a glitch here and there, and i never have any problem with spotify on ma android. Do people just want too much?
there are instances where this is the case, but it's few and far between
i really dont understand. Its just a phone.
One thing to add, my iPhone 11 gets much louder than my Galaxy S21+ when paired with JBL Bluetooth speakers and the Sony earbuds I use
that's because it has noise amplification, it's not a good thing
iPhones dont support LDAC for Sony headphones so the quality is inferior

they used to on Mac but apple stripped that ability so good luck
Apple trying to be more proprietary
are macs worth it?
the M1 yes definitely
you're paying for the brand mostly i think : )
M1 absolutely smacks for value rn
iOS doesn't support any BT codecs such as aptX/LDAC etc only SBC, because they want you to buy their earbuds lol
Yep air pods lol
i think that for all apple products but still. im curious and want to learn
if you want to try then use the Mac, just beware it's not a nice experience if you don't own other apple gear
if you want to try the cool stuff anyway
if you want it for general use then get the mac
i just bought a year ago microsoft laptop go
but have kinda second thoughts about it
it's basically impossible to beat the M1 Mac in terms of battery life per charge at the price point it's at, I'd definitely recommend it
got one myself even for work
in my store they only have m2 and m3
basically the same just better if anything
im just scared cuz i used windows for 20 years
you can always use hackintosh if you really want to lol
what is that
essentially using Mac on non apple hardware
limitations* ofc
ooh wow
macOS Sonoma and OS X Ventura Hackintosh instructions, tutorials, step-by-step how to guides and installation videos; Hackintosh systems, parts and more.
thank you
np
Snapdragon X Elite could change that
Again, not out yet but the benchmarks show potential
30 fps in a new game
ik but it's got a powerful iGPU for sure
And it's arm too, MS is just starting to actually care about it
When they should have 5 years ago
?
they've been a holder and contributor to ARM for ages
windows got support about 5 years ago aswell
I mean windows 10X
Which turned out to be a nothingburger
They can't even commit to WSA
they still have supported ARM for ages, the windows phone was built on it
WSA is redundant now that Google have their own app launcher for windows
Wasn't that only for games?
yes, but there's link to windows for generic apps
and that's been around for eons now
Oh
Is there any reason to get Wi-Fi 6/7 supported hardware even though my internet speed is only 50 Mbps? My motherboard is Wi-Fi 5
would there be improvements to signal integrity?
you need something which supports the standard lol, if there isnt it will connect via a lower protocol
only a handful of people could really see benefit from Wi-fi 7 tbh
Any tech wizards here available at the moment?
Not many routers even support Wi-Fi 6
Will it be 7E next, or 8?
WF9
Wifi 6 and 7 can lower your latency in certain scenarios. So can in theory be better for multiplayer gaming and stuff like VR if you run that over wireless.
we need that WF10 frfr with fiber

Rumor: AMD Zen5 is 40% faster than Zen4 in SPEC benchmarks According to reputable leaker “Kepler_L2”, AMD’s next-gen CPU architecture is said to provide (up to) 40% increase over Zen4. AMD’s Zen 5 CPU architecture appears to be gearing up for a major improvement over its predecessor, Zen 4, according to recent reports. Kepler suggests […]

I somehow doubt they will be able or interested in making a similar improvement as they did when they went from Excavator to Zen arcitecture
They are not far enough behind Intel for that
But surprise me AMD. I are you,
it's not happening, these fake rumours spur up every time we're close to a release
They are "up to" rumours. So they can be up to not complete crap 😄
ad ignorantiam always applies whenever you say up to xyz infinite number
would a dying hard drive cause games to not launch?
It's a possibility
it's probably why then

rate the build https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/NQpMQP
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Fractal Design Torrent ATX Mid Tower
It looks good, but isn't 850w pushing it for a 4080 super
Pushing it on the low end?
power wise I meant
Meaning too few watts?
Ah no it might be fine
It does look like a fine system but is it your new upgrade path or your new pc?
What you mean frankenstein
build is fine, no changes needed, if you're looking for alterations the 7950x3d may be an option as the price class isn't that different from the 7800x3d, ATX 3 on the PSU could be an option as its a new build but not strictly necessary
/19
ah I see, you got a bunch of components from different era putting it together and it works
depends how expensive ATX 3 is in your region, but worth a look
for your case mozzy give the 7950 a serious consideration, but price vary accordingly, obv
I assume you're doing this for development related stuff aswell as gaming
The extend of my dev stuff is just a glorified text editor
I don't game that much
I did have a frankenstein before upgrading to my first gaming system, which was a hdd from 2013 I believe, with a psu from 2018, cpu from 2007, gpu from 2017 and the mobo from 2006
eh if that's the case then not needed
The pc was from the curb because the ram was dead
your build is fine, if you're debating potential upgrades consider atx 3, if not then just stick with what you've got on that list
Is it even worth for atx 3
for what gpu?
any 40 series card lol or any 50 series card people are wanting to buy
if you're buying in 4090/4080 class territory it's a serious consideration
Eeh doesn't seem to be worth it and the adapter is fine
I've discussed this before but the adapter is very sensitive to pc configurations and generally not suitable for most users on high end cards
in tight case fits*
Here's an article , https://seasonic.com/atx-3-0-standard
but it seems more like
it can be more efficent power wise
tldr: support for handling PCIe gen 5 specification requirements from the power supply
aka 12vh
that is why you need the adapter as ATX 2 doesnt support the 12v power specifications natively
Dark Power 13 and others are atx 3 psus
I have no idea lol that's why I said look for them
I don't think budget is a major concern if he's buying a 4080s realistically speaking
certainly not a price class difference between 3 and 2
Apparently my selected PSU comes with the needed cable
yeah it will have the adapter, it comes with the graphics card
the 12v adapter converts 8 pin power to it, atx 3 isn't required, only consider it if you're planning a upgrade potentially in the future
Seems to come with the PSU
it's atx 3? must have missed it
Where do I even see if it is here
https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/p/psu/cp-9020263-eu/rme-series-rm850e-fully-modular-low-noise-atx-power-supply-cp-9020263-eu specifications are listed on the main page, it has PCIe 5 compliance, so it's atx 3 by native
yes but no
very good PSU for that price considering, nice find
oh well guess there's no actual change
your build will look a lot cleaner removing the adapter so, gg
may actually pick up that power supply myself tbh
fuck, I hate spending money
welcome to my world
buying the 4090 felt like swallowing a cyanide pill
what monitor are you using mozzy?
4080 will go well with it
You have a list of what you’re planning to buy mozzy?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Fractal Design Torrent ATX Mid Tower
The itch to replace my 2080ti is back
it won't come with it no, you'll need to buy it separate
there may be paste pre applied to the cooler but you'll need your own as it's AM5 mount (the paste spread will be different for contact) tldr
something like the noctua nt-h2 or kyronaut thermal grizzly will work fine if you're wanting recommendations
right
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower
why the 64gb of ram?
why not
He does code
Pretty damn sure 32gb is more than enough.
Don't think it hurts to have 64 gigs anyways.
with DDR5 you do not want 4 sticks, only 2 to ensure compatible stability for certain kits, it's preferential to get 64 (32x2) under this circumstance
Just get motherboard with 2 RAM slots
That way you also don't have to worry about what slots to install the DIMMs for dual-channel mode
I dare you to stand backwards on a staircase
Why?
64gb because I'm a Chrome user
You usually shove in HDD's in as well don't you?
40k 🤡
4k usd worth
notice the 2 GPUs inflating the sum
Fuck HDDs
Yeah was actually about to correct myself to 30k
I currently have HDD for backup stuff but i will switch to m.2 next upgrade, it makes most noise than all in the pc while idle
100% of my gaming is still done on an HDD from 2014
Ouch
I'm just gonna say I'd get one 2 terabyte ssd but if that works out that's just fine.
I might cave and do 2x2 TB SSDs
I have a 4TB M.2 kek
I wouldnt have myself if that damn ssd i had didnt die like it did. Lost soo much valuable data. So kind of been scared since not having HDD for backup but was bad brand i guess. Now i just use micron m.2 which i feel safe with
But for now, 1 + 2 TB is enough
Ye
I don't plan on doing a lot of gaming anyway
1+2 is what I would suggest.
I also have 2 more M.2 slots left out of 4
Next upgrade i probably gonna do 4 on storage/backup drive and keep 1tb for Main
This mobo has 3 slots
Should I just do 2+2
It was super fun just shoving a new ssd into my computer the other day.
eh tbh, it helps that I've a media server that I also use to storage important things on.
May as well.
- I've 1TB of storage on google drive which I use a lot

Ledigt
One drive is life
I'm thinking of doing a wipe just to get rid of crap.
ye mine doesn't say 1tb
Just ordered a new monitor. An Alienware AW2725DF. 1440p OLED 360hz. 😄
Nice
I want a new monitor as well but I'm gonna have to upgrade my PC for it
so for now i cba
My PC is as upgraded as I can really do for now. But my main monitor has a dodgy power supply
I need to save up a bit of money before I go out buying things again.
Fair enough
always where possible do a single drive per capacity
the TBW of a drive is defined by its size, tldr a 1 4TB drive will last 2x longer in write capacity than those 2 drives individually
same point
Oh i was blind lol
main issue is the cost factor with size for nvmes once you approach 4 and above TB the cell size requirements outweigh any TBW difference most of the time
Keeping 1+2
I'd only for 4 teras if I was super desperate.
I'd say it don't matter if you use them equaly much though
2 teras isolated is MASSIVE.
if you use them equally as much it matters, it doesn't if you dont
easy to say now, give it 2 years
I forget you're Swedish.
Eh you just work with it.
I dunno
I just feel like if you just clean up shit you're not using you can make it last. Like with RAM. Sure the requirements increase but I don't believe it will be such a spike.
I also know it differs between users too.
There are people who need more ram and storage than a regular person.
Man 500 gigabytes xbox one how did we cope.
HDDs are reaching consumer capacities of 20TB in size now for mass buying (per drive), the distinct difference between a game which takes up 100GB and then 200GB isn't broken down till you tell people that they go from storing 20 games, to 10 on that
Ye.
Or one cod game.
I fully expect GTA 6 to be in the 200GB region roughly realistically once it comes to pc
Nvm the future patches.
That'll be insane.
God the jump from x360 to xbox one in terms of game size was something to behold.
From 8 to 10 gig games bumping to 50.
Now 100 is the regular size.
Not regular but.
100 gigs isn't so rare anymore.
ironically it made them less, relatively speaking all things considered from that console generation
GTA 6 should have better character models/animations, face details/expressions than RDR2 but I still think RDR2 will hold its own when it comes to environmental details across the game world

Will it have 16gb of vram

or is it going to be 2gb
Why would anyone buy an AMD GPU?
Genuine question
Isn't it basically a monopoly at this point?
this question is why there is a monopoly
Maybe
It is what it is
I wouldn't buy something inferior just to help out the non-monopoly company
The question isn't why there is a monopoly, its why are there still monopolies
personally I've only had issues with Nvidia GPUs. My RTX 3060 (still have it in the box) has checkerboard artifacts when watching videos on youtube and the fans spin even when idle for some reason
I've only had 1 AMD GPU with problems
funny enough it was a Gigabyte one

oof
It seemed expensive, but then I realised it's probably Swedish kr.

Which one of orders is held off though
niceeeeee. id love oled but i gotta upgrade main tv to oled before my monitor
but do you use your main tv more than your monitor
backup GPU
price to performance as long as you dont care about streaming or dont particularly care for ray tracing/dlss
Because the one I ordered is not in stock
Ah ok
(yet, hopefully)
What is the backup gpu?
Gigabyte WINDFORCE V2 GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB Video Card
theres a reason the asus isnt in stock, they are killer for the price
ah ok, its another rtx 4080 super
The one I "ordered" https://www.inet.se/produkt/5414013/asus-geforce-rtx-4080-super-16gb-tuf-gaming
Don't forget to buy a lot of rgbs
As little RGB as possible
I barely use my Console/TV. So it makes sense for me to only upgrade my monitor 😄
because of work i use my monitor more, but for gaming and watching tv its about even
So why not upgrade the monitor for "Work" purposes
eh, i dont need oled for drawing cabinets
oh is it a different rig?
for work?
same pc for gaming and work

Hello, Is the game playable on Arch Linux?
because ea anti cheat does not support linux.
the game isn't supported on linux
Bf5 did/does work but since ea anti cheat is now coming it will not work in the future
correct, specifically its already added, so it wont work on linux, neither will 2042
too bad
just install windows
i mean when playing multiplayer games i would nearly always use dual boot
anyone know a aim trainer code that works#
why is this so cheap

yes
Fast like on PC.
First time loading up game is always the longest, after that it’s fast

QD-OLED, is their technology
Yeah, that’s why I was asking. I’d love an OLED display, but I’m really afraid of burn-ins. Miniled on the other hand, has similar colors, and no chance for a burn-in
there is no such thing as no chance of burn in, LCD panels, themselves, have "burn in" too, if it's a concern just get a monitor which has warranty protection for it on OLED, most if not all the manufacturers offer it
Alright, thank you. I'll probably settle for the OLED then.
https://www.msi.com/news/detail/3-Year-Burn-in-Warranty-for-MSI-OLED-Monitors-143207#:~:text=MSI's Pledge%3A 3-Year Warranty for OLED Monitors&text=In a commitment to our, against the burn-in issue. e.g. for MSI, just Google for it for the manufacturer and you'll see if they have it
Checked on the internet rq and found out samsung has a 3 year burn-in warranty here in europe. Definitely gonna settle for an OLED.
there you go
870 evo FTW
samsung supplies qd-oled, lg w-oled, id say lg supplies more panels then samsung, at least for tvs. per rtings, samsung oleds are more susceptible to burn in compared to lg. lcd can also have burn in, but its not nearly as prevalent as oled
mini led still doesnt have the same image quality as oled either, there is still a lot of blooming with those (at least early models when i was reading up the tech and reviews)
also, not certain if samsung makes the entirety of their oled panels, or still buys from lg and adds their qd layer to it
rtings is also running the latest tests between the two companies, they claim the latest samsung qd oled panels are way more resistant to burn in than their first panels, but its still too early to make a call which is better
on the topic of supplies
It isn't really 2020 anymore, OLED has gotten very good with not burning in
QD-OLED burn-in has become a concern for many who may be considering a new QD-OLED TV. But should QD-OLED burn-in potential really be cause for alarm? In part 2. of our OLED screen burn-in video series, we talk about why this new OLED TV technology is susceptible to burn-in, how to avoid it, and whether you should really be worried about QD-OLED...

GOOD.

Hey, do you think I'm stupid if I get a 24 inch monitor instead of a 27 inch?
I sit pretty close to the screen and used 24 inch for a long time.
When I used 27 inch I felt like it was a little bit big. Will it grow on me? Will I grow into it?
plz helap
thats because youre literally at the screen lol, adjust to looking at a monitor from a healthy distance
youll screw up your back if you dont
Alright thanks
@red storm I think you should go with the 27 inch monitor and adjusting it back a little bit but just remember you’ll take a slight performance hit depending on your specs
is bf2042 blocking RTSS overlay by any means? i cannot get rtss to show in-game
i get it successfully in other applications
yes the anti cheat blocks it
for 1080p go 24" , 1440p 27"
I tried a 27" 1440p monitor that was like not usable outside of gaming. I didn't try turning the OS zoom level up, though. That would've probably made it better. It looked really nice, super dense and crisp.
its weird no one mentioned that, the ppi on 27" 1080p monitors is atrocious, no matter how far you sit from them
plus you can also sit close to a monitor and not screw up your back..
posture really doesnt have a correlation to distance from monitor...
now if its bad for your eyes is another question, though i doubt anyone here is an optometrist
it does, sitting very close to a monitor distance wise means your back has to be angled rather than straight, desk width means to have a closer fov to the screen you can't be straight (and not)
https://www.mdpi.com/2673-7078/1/2/18
Consistent with the literature [49,51,53], this research found that participants spent a significant amount of the 4.5 h sitting period in a slumped sitting posture, evidenced by a kyphotic curvature of the lumbar spine. This result may be explained by almost inactive spinal muscles during slumped sitting posture. Related research has shown that muscle fatigue occurs when erect postures (such as upright sitting) are sustained for as little as 30 min, even if contractions are as low as 2% to 5% of the maximum voluntary contraction [7]. Thus, participants might have preferred a slumped sitting posture because it is perceived as less physically demanding.
While it is generally recognized that prolonged sitting periods at work can harm the locomotor system, little attention has been paid to the impact of sitting behavior on muscle stiffness. This study investigated the effect of sitting posture and postural activity on lower back muscle stiffness in a controlled experiment in which participants sa...
Or you could bring the monitor closer to you… crazy
there's a finite amount of room on a desk, yes you can with higher dimension monitors, but it's a diminishing effect with smaller ones
the smaller the dimension the more you need to do that for the same effect, it doesn't work very well
and even if you do that you will never reach a position where you can still be straight, it is impossible to have a 1:1 posture ratio with a closer fov, unless you lift the monitor off the desk, best of luck with that
can be done for 20 bucks
also finally skimmed throug the articles linked, none of those are talking about posture to tv size, its just talking about general bad posture, time spent at a computer, and angle display...
a bit anecdotal but at least directly comparable, like 90% of fps pros sit within 1 foot of their 24" monitors...
now most of them probably do have neck pain since the way they sit usually means they are looking down
even though, im sure these pros making money for a living doing this probably have coaches to help with their posture and performance
but ignore that, deco and his irrelevant research about a different topic knows what he is talking about
(i love how the first links intro talks about truck drivers and their sitting posture, totally relevant to distance to monitor and back pains)
clearly didn't skim through good enough lol
it's in the second section, takes 2 seconds to look, but cool I suppose
(would be wise to do the bare minimum of skimming yk)
did read this.. this talks about posture, not distance to monitor
you want to mention eSports, there's studies on that too (spoiler: they don't work in your favour)https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9138953/
More than 40% of esports athletes have reported musculoskeletal pain [17] that could become tendinopathy [18]. In addition, esports activities were considered sedentary behavior [19] that manifested similar health risks to those of office workers with prolonged occupational sitting [20
Simple Summary
Professional ***mobile ***esports athletes may suffer from occupational health risks to their spine because of prolonged sitting with poor posture.
cant even read the first sentence correctly...
that changes anything..?
lol
you know they use monitors connected to mobile right?
also, as said before you are always going to be angled if you want a closer fov to your monitor, this is a simple concept to understand, distance on the first study doesn't matter
i mean.. if you read the 2nd paragraph you would know it changes..
"Mobile esports may exacerbate potential postural problems because of the closer and unsupported arms and because athletes spend more time in a forward-/flexed-head posture."
do you just google shit and post the first link you find and dont even read it?
gonna chalk this up to ESL problems again
though you do also just never accept you can be wrong about anything, even when directly proven wrong otherwise
i mean, i have receipts that im sure you will also ignore
there's no arguing
just ones apparent self entitlement
not the first time he's done this

won't be the last
generally i just point out the times he is wasting other peoples money, but theres just questionable shit like "if you sit close to monitor you will fuck up your back" and then links studies about general posture that includes truck drivers and then links mobile esports research and doesnt even know it...
no you read a introduction, didn't bother reading the rest, obviously, until pointed out, even when the methodology is on section 2, it's lazy critique
and can conclude that mobile eSports, use external monitors too
taking a character assassination (high ground) when you skim through something and can't get the basics is lazy cc, do it right
pointed out? section 2 mentions nothing about distance to monitor at all
hell the word DISTANCE in the research doesnt even come up at all
yes because it's about, angled posture, the thing you do, when you want a, closer fov of the monitor
you get this premise correct?
"adjust to looking at a monitor from a healthy distance
youll screw up your back if you dont"
angled posture =/= distance to monitor
neither is english.. and yet here we are
right apparently it's not possible to understand the guy is already angled at his monitor, when he already said he plays up close, put two and two together, it's not that difficult
he has been here before lol
example, pretty sure this is supposed to read "and CAN conclude..."
because what you wrote wouldnt help your case at all..
oof you got me there
not like you're still wrong on the you know, bigger conclusion to the topic here
swerve and redirect ig
except im not... i just dont think you fully know what you say most of the time and cant even own up to that
??
you say that when you jumped to a total wrong conclusion and sat in here for a day trying to get at me? lol
how that is relevant to anything is beyond me
wouldnt matter if i spent a week, you were wrong with your original statement
you know nyphon, introspection is your worst enemy, why do you think you're here in the first place
because you wouldn't be had you just asked
then followed up with articles that have very vague connections to your point and borderline no correlation, but insead of owning up your goal post change or just sit behind "what i said isnt what i means"
nope, dont think you have any sort of 'power' over anything but your own actions
power over what? lol
because people dont say 'are you done or' without suggested they are telling you to stop
another one for ESL?
no I'm asking if you're done because this topic is boring and I want to talk about a interesting topic
but you seem disinterested I suppose
which circles back to "dont think you have any sort of 'power' over anything but your own actions"
your own actions being you can just stop talking at any point
dude I'm just asking if you're wanting to talk about something productive
stop taking everything personal
this is discord, nothing is productive
I'm not out to get you I don't care about you lol
cool? should i say me too so we are on the same page?
yeah that works
cool i dont care about you either... ill see you next time you try to waste someone elses money or give bad advice/information
well, guess that was to be expected ig lol
i mean, stop doing those things above and you wont see me call you out 🤷
dude I'm trying to have a actual interesting conversation with you because you're the only guy here
but you seem to want to continue down this path of assassination lol
circle back to not caring about you
if anyone else says this weird shit they would get called out for it
dont think because you consistently say weird shit that means im looking at the name attached to those statements
must be a sad purpose lol
the only time i consider that those words are attached to you is for context that you seemingly dont know what youre saying a lot of times and that you consistently do this and never own up to any faults
right
separate situation to me just saying 'thats not right' to you all the time
eh oh well, you're an interesting guy, I tried making useful conversation, but you don't seem interested, suit yourself
tried ig

So I have the option to upgrade from a 7900x to a 7950X3D for 400 EUR. Mate fo mine is swapping ti Intel platform and wants to sell me his CPU for that cost. I think its a pretty good idea and deal. Any opinions?
2 routes generally:
1: price is very good for that, it's normally a 7800x3d base cost, just vaguely be aware that you may need to reset the CPPCD assignment as swapping processors is finicky for dual CCD allocations via the chipset
2: wait for zen 5, it's announcement is very near, next few months at a maximum, prices are unknown on that, so if you don't feel like you're going to want to buy the 9950x3d at base MSRP then just pull the trigger on option 1
7900x already has 2 CCDs, so I dont see much issue there
And Zen5 wont be for another 5/6 months.
the 7900x doesn't have the chipset integration for split cache assignment which the 7950x3d does, it isn't a dual CCD cache chip, one side has cache and the other is scheduled for tasks which require frequency, the chipset when switching zen 4 processors can be buggy though with this and not schedule correctly (if you swap for the x3d), there's ways of getting around it but just beware
Yeah, I can just disable one CCD also lol
the 7900x is a 6 core cache part so it reads differently
would defeat the point, why would you want the 7950 if you disable a ccd
just get the 7800x3d in that case
Im just saing if I wanted to avoid 3D cache scheduling issues...I could, and effectively it would behave like a 7800X3D
don't see a reason not to get it, if you're aware then go ahead pull the trigger imo, have the processor myself
you'll probably want to cap the tdp but that's about it

yikes
according to Novideo this problem isnt real
It's easy to think it's not real until it burns your house down
ATX 3.1 PSUs coming out just for the cables tells you all you need to know
The one-piece Cablemod 90-degree cable (whole cable, not just the 90-deg adapters which were trash) works. The stock NVIDIA adapter is garbage.
Also, why does a fucking $2000 computer component need an adapter???
Apart from the fact that it had to be recalled? I also bought a custom cable mod 12VHPWR cable and it constantly crashed my system. Cable mods solutions arent all that better
I wish it was better, as it looks much nicer in my system...but I had to go back to the one nvidia provided for stability
depends if its within margin of failure i guess..
wouldn't be surprised if the 4090 is the most returned/refunded GPU ever
I thought they already fixed the issue last year
They marked it as user issue
"hurr you didn't plug in the connector correctly, all thousands of you"
The fact that popular custom cable brands ALSO released faulty cables and connectors for the 12VHPWR makes things even worse.
Points towards a design issue now doesnt it
Novideo cant do anything wrong
they should do dual 10-pin connector
though that would lower OC ceiling a lot
personally I wish GPUs never went beyond dual 8-pin design (350W max power)
True. PC's should not get any hotter.
I can heat my place most of the year just by gaming. It's getting silly.
that isn't the max power of 2 8 pins
one PCIe plug can handle up to 300 watts by its specification, the reason more than one is used is to split transients specifically
I feel like we've gotten to the point where 4k is the best most sensible Max solution for home monitor PC's.
4k is amazing already.
Why do we need to push it any more?
GPUs are getting very efficient. The issue is that as they gain efficiency, GPU manufacturers push them to be 10% faster, but use 40% more power.
The 4090 is insanely efficient and performant at a 65% power limit
CPUs are also getting a lot more efficient. For example. The 7950X is a 170W CPU, while the 7950X3D is a 120W part. At way less power, the 3D part is a lot faster in most games
CPU wise I'm not concerned or annoyed.
They could make GPUs more efficient...but then they wont be top of the charts...and people will buy your competitions overclocked parts.
they would still be at the top is the funny thing
Multiple Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics cards drop below $400 AMD should really announce a new MSRP at this point. This isn’t the first time the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT has been available below $400, but it is the first time that as many as four models have reached this price. AMD’s recent price […]

guys i need a 3rd partyy tool to capture clips when im gaping something similar to AMD adrenaline
what would yo recommend?
OBS
OBS
SBO
Yes
Any length you want as long as you have the storage space lol
Its the most commonly used software for it (On PC anyways)
yeah i have a 2tb ssd can handle alot
alright thanks
So guys if you're running a AMD GPU and is suffering from stuttering when ADS or randomly lagging when playing 2042, uninstall the adrenaline software get rid of all the gpu drivers use the amd cleanup tool. I then reinstalled andreniline MINIMAL feature. Boom hardly any lag as before.
this is a driver feature issue specifically, adrenaline will enable it's features by default which cause this, specifically anti lag and others
switch them off and it won't happen
i tried all majority of the fix i see is the use the minimal feature of adrenaline, not the full installation
Update 7.1 did help alot but still had the stuttering
You're talking about driver 24.1 i did rollback to 23.21 had same issue, clear the cache everything nothing worked
what a deal
I have a 6600
7700xt for 370 is an insane deal too
yup especially given the market
yeah the coupon -48 dolalrs off
