Does anyone in here have experience with Steelseries headsets?
I have the Pulse Elite, but they're a little too flat for my liking. I do love how crisp and clear the sound comes through though, however I'm looking at Arctis Nova 7's
Bad sound quality headphones brand btw
Logitech, razer also
so annoying that i have to switch to edge to get hdr on youtube. firefox doesnt seem to support it
Sad news
i got sennheiser 560s, im really happy with them. but theyre open back and got no mic
Solid ones tho

i have the nova 7 myself
no clue about the pulse elite, but the nova 7 is pretty flat as well
idk about other steelseries or gaming headphones brands, but the nova 7 are surprisingly good
they definitely dont have that strong V sound signature that most gaming headphones have for "coolness"
for reference i was using audio technica ath-ad700x for YEARS before i got my nova headset, and the sound quality drop off isnt as nearly as drastic as expected, the sound signature is arguably similar too (recessed lows, decent mids, and forward but not bright highs)
nova 7 definitely lack the soundstage and separation of the audio technicas i had, but for gaming thats really not a problem
for straight music listening/media consumption i still use my sennheiser 6xx with a schiit stack, but for gaming, especially wireless gaming, the nova 7 are more than good enough
ATH-M40X are perfect studio monitoring headphones at $100
Thank you for verifying this! Might as well just stick with my Pulse Elite’s
It’s not monitor headphones flat, but for gaming it sure is.
Never had an issue with razer
Anyone have success maxing out FPS on pC. i am stuck at 150 and I know i can get more.
It’s not really problems, just most gaming headphones have poor sound quality, but it won’t affect your performance and you likely won’t know the sound quality is bad unless you get into “audiophile” circles.
Generally speaking you are spending more on the branding than the actual quality. Like 30 dollar audio headphones would sound better than 95% of gaming headphones at any price.
btw is there any reason why the certified hdmi 2.1 cables in the tech store here only is up to 3 meters? does the quality degrade after that? i would need like a 10 meters

Wym?
i have 2 monitors that only have HDMI, no dp
do you think its okay to get HDMI to DP?
yes you can do that
My GPU have multiple HDMI ports. That’s why I’m so confused.
whats yours
AIB boards can choose the ports they want
1 hdmi and other DP is the factory stock though
different connectors can still support high Hz?
RTX 3080 EVGA
I have one DP and 3 HDMIs I think. I know I have multiple HDMIs.
Idk, Deco knows more info.
@pale quartz
O, I see. I didn’t scroll up
whats aib
no it's chosen by Nvidia and Radeon as the factory configuration, AIBs are add in board partners who use their own designs on GPUs such as having different ports, the 3/1 configuration you have is the default Nvidia have for theirs
if Radeon priortizes HDMI especially for FreeSync, why do their GPUs only have 1 HDMI
can you force FreeSync through DP?
DP has vesa adaptive sync, no?
Displayport? Yep
freesync works across both not just hdmi
Never
Thanks.

180 bucks for a 180hz 1080p monitor? that cant be right
you can get 165hz 1440p 27" for like 200-250
odd, apparently those are just the going prices
@steady radish wait what region and what vendor?
I was like chasing the refresh rate
Cuz i've been using
720p 60hz 5ms 19pouce monitor for like 7 years and i just woke up to reality
Alright, my R5 3600 is in
Aaaand, I found something strange: this box comes with the stealth model cooler
My 1600 is spire
Did they stop bundling spire models for R5?
yes they stopped years ago
under 200hz 1080p monitors are in a strange spot imo, at least in the us market
Freesync no longer being included with FHD 1080p monitors with less than 144 refresh rate
No more of those cheap 75Hz freesync monitors lol
They won't be missed
its mostly cause they didnt work properly on them
ur right but in our countries, my salaray per day is like 5 bucks per day. thats why i found those afordable to me
the fact i gotta work for month 6 days in da week to offord it is halarious xD
I don’t know the prices there so I’m not really commenting on that. Just in USA the price difference between 1440p and 1080p is pretty minimal
Woah woah.
Are you really hating on 75?

5090 is rumored to be 70% faster than 4090 ….
impressive if true
and 70% more expensive?
but also wondering about power consumption on that thing
the power consumption doesn't matter, it will still be the most efficient GPU regardless
most efficient for work related stuff but gaming with uncapped framerate it will be using a lot of power constantly
makes me wonder how much power a 4090 would use at 1080p if capped to only 60Hz
would definitely use more than a 4060 that's for sure
that's why barely any games have "uncapped framerates" lol
it's not an issue, literally just enforce a frame cap if necessary
didn't monster hunter world have no framecap which caused people's cpus to combust
I almost want to pay more for a 4070 than a 7800XT because of the efficiency difference lol
Radeon just isn't that efficient, they can't be to make up the framerate target
nearly all models of 7800XT draws more power than advertised, going around 300 watts
but that is because of factory OC
all 7700XT/7800XT are pushed hard out of box
7900GRE more efficient than both even gaming with uncapped framerate at high res

People is speculating about 2-2.5k usd
Atleast market will make it that expensive if the GPUs dropped
4090 already costs that much here
so a 5090 is for sure gonna be atleast 50% more
nah 3090 to 4090 was only 100 usd increase
and that is like 60-80% performance increase
@nocturne drift did you see a guy clock their ram to 10K MHZ.
10k sheesh
That's high dang. I am stuck at 7600
not over here

You’re making me feel old asf.
I'm thinking of upgrading my monitor in the next week or two...am I insane to consider this??
Bruh, that’s a tv dawg
It's definitely a monitor!
Haha, yeah I'd definitely need to get a deeper desk (something I was planning on doing anyway)
It’s looks really nice.
The question is can you run 4k tho?
Without breaking your pc
Yeah it's got great reviews, and it's a massive saving. Bigger than I was planning on going (42"), but there's a substantial difference in price
I've got a 7800X3D and 4070ti OC currently, but plan to upgrade to a 4090, or wait and get a 5090. Basically the monitor will be future-proofed, and I can run 4k decently with the gpu I have for now.
no, but if you want OLED there are much better options
Oh fucking Harvey normies.
I know of a cool 27 inch oled you could go for.
Something lg.
this is the first gen OLED panel so it suffers severely in image quality
@bleak vector get the MPG 321URX instead
the panel you linked is OLED, this one is QD-OLED, goes up to 240hz, has much better SDR brightness and better text clarity, so it's strictly better in every sense
is bios version p2.70 able to run ryzen 7 5700x3d
what motherboard do you have?

First time I’ve ever heard any oleds image to be bad…
the first gen OLED panels have mediocre sRGB spectrum coverage because they're not QD, the gamut just isn't as big
they're not bad, just there's no reason to buy them compared to the competition
Could have sworn the only problem was srgb brightness, not anything to do with color coverage or accuracy.
Hey folks, tech issue going on. My buddy and I want to play Battlefield on cross-play. I have PC and he is Xbox. A list of what I have checked
- Cross-play is on
- My firewall is good
- Updated everything
- Internet speed is fine
Everytime I go to add him on Battlefield, his name shows up, I click add, I click on Send EA play request and nothing, he clicks on his end and nothing.
if he is on last gen Xbox you cannot play with crossplay, only the new gen, old gen are locked to their own platforms

Oh hey look. The 14900ks even on stupid overclocked memory is still slower than AMD.
Yawn. Nothing to see here....
It's summer soon. Gotta keep those gamer rooms extra hot
im trying out upscaling at max quality and hdr video on sdr content through nvidia controllpanel and it looks good but damn only watching a youtube clip use 35-40% of my rtx 3090
Kinda need an improvement since ADL
Might want to check that out. Have not falled over the setting though.
Instead of refreshes
its in the old controll panel at the bottom some video settings
Time to upgrade 8700K to 14900KS /s
Nah im more considering a 7700X or something
Hmm, didn't really notice any difference. Maybe Chrome needs a restart.
does it say active in the panel when u have a video going?
Sure
cool
I do need a setting to automatically disable it when gaming
i kept switching it on and off and it did some differese to the colors
and having it upscaled from really low res up to 4k or whatever the max setting is made a huge difference to me
Oh, I did see the HDR kick in there
Ah yeah, kicking the video down to 360p I do see the difference
ye its pretty neat
Seems to use 10-39% GPU here
but ialso have to turn it off when gaming cuz i cant have it eat my gpu when i only have it running to listen to music
Well also depends what it is using on gpu
This is probably just tensor plus decoder
the ingame rtx hdr is pretty cool aswell if u got any leftover power to use
its not built to be efficient with ampere, only lovelace
alright
14900ks does 5.9ghz all cores in gaming.
That's nice.
But I am not spending $$$ to gain 0.2ghz
💀
AMD will now launch a 7850X3D with 2 layers of 3D cache stacked on top of main chip for a total of 160MB L3

throw cache (or cash) at problems

heya boys can i get some help with bf4 im having issues with the game launching it downloads and gets as far and the black load screen and freezes i can still hear the lobby music
realistically you're going to get nonexistent scaling
L3 performance craters out hard past what already exists, at most it would be like 10% for 30% extra capacity
yeah plus the physical distance of having another 3D chip
what they would need to do is increase capacity per chip instead
multi-die stacking is already present in AMD server GPUs
I think Mi300 has 3-layer die stacking
Milan has it yes but you're not going to see those gains on consumer chips even if it's implemented

TSV latency for multi die stacking isn't great and that's a problem when you're talking about games which are mission critical
wonder if AMD plans to use 3D cache for GPUs
they do
small performance difference between the 7800XT and 7900GRE is said to be caused by the cache config than the small memory interface on 7900GRE
maybe RDNA3 is deprived of cache instead of memory bandwidth
same for RDNA2
hey guys
7900xt3d for all your graphical lows.
Sorry Chad by the way I'm not sure if we can specifically answer your conundrum.
wtf dlss 3 is actually insane
126 fps in 2077 now 200+
I do feel a slight latency increase but I cant find ai generated frames even whipping my mouse around
you mean the frame gen?
4090 too strong
Seeing how big the performance gap between 4080 and 4090 is, 5080 will be a lot slower than 4090 imo
Yeah I went over 40k on timespy.
My 3090 was 25k
💀
It's soo OP I play the finals at 1440 with max RTX and felt competitive.

battlefield 2042: my game wont load i have blackscreen and then loading screen, took 30 mins to boot up main menu, couldnt load into a match (they finish before I can load in) what is wrong
"2.1 hours of playtime" and ive only completed half the tutorial
hello, anyone else having fps drops and crashes all of a sudden?
in battlefield 2042
Hi i just got the game. after launching, it says please update your nvidia driver from 474.82 to 536.40 or later versions i tryed to update but i cant.
use Geforce Experience
yes im useing it
ok, but how im going to do that?
bc the driver version 536.40 does not support my gtx760
you need a gpu upgrade my man
i yep i got it nice
I don't think that's true at all.
More L2 + L3 = higher data buffers = higher performance.
In the case of AMD CPU's it's also unified cache
nvidia keep adding that dynamic color filter to elden ring even tho i turn it off. makes everything look horrid. so i have to exit the game and then turn it off again and restart
i have it off as global setting
😐
and off for the game aswell
yeah it's quite horrible
i like the rtx hdr tho
since the hdr mode in elden ring is broken and greys everything out
i need help
i put new cpu in and its says 2 things
i can send a pic for som1 pls dm

Can I run bf2042 on RX6400, i5-2500?
lol that cpu is 13 years old, might be time for an upgrade
anyone running bf2042 on an rx580
500w power limit on my card

3090?
I'm scared of the 5090's boosted clock power draw.
I'm more scared of the heat it will produce. The space heater is real.
I am not at all
40 series is stupidly efficient I draw 100w less at 1.1v 4090 at 1440p than 0.925v at 1080p with 3090
also I dont think nvidia can go any higher they not putting 2 12pin power cables on their gpu LOL
ok maybe only galax does
Just water cool it in a iced out bathtub
EZ claps
3080 evga unlocked
I have a EVGA 3080
That has 450w
They got one for ln2 which unlocks it
Beta xoc vbios?
I had it too
I always under clock than over clock
Probably going asus with the next series
Ive got an custom loop which helps with the temps overall
Then you just move the heat production to the freezer, who would have a hard time making enough ice
Use the deep freezer instead

only the game is doing that, i have to add that even when I set it to ultra performance I still get the warning.

I bought bf 2042 because of the discount and i have a gtx1660 super with a Intel Core i5 8:e gen. 8400 gpu and it lags like hell, am i limited due to my cpu and should i return it or is it fixable?
it's not fixable you are hardware limited, you'd need to upgrade the processor yes
I got a prebuild Lenovo, could i just buy a cpu and install it and be good to go?
no you'd need a new motherboard
So im basically better of getting an entire new pc? 😭
yes essentially
Because ingame its like 100 cpu usage and thats not fixable with priorities or other settings?
Cuz ive had some issues with other games aswell with high cpu usage and have heard abt bottlenecking but tbh i dont even know how to spot a bottleneck
no it's not you are core limited
the game doesn't have enough cores on your system to rasterise the framerate the GPU is targeting
what you can do is cap the framerate entirely to say 60 to decrease utilisation, but you're not fixing the problem, the only way to do that is to upgrade it
Welp.. Thanks for the help, ill see what ill do.
Digital Foundry's Rich Leadbetter says not to expect Grand Theft Auto 6 to run at 60fps on the PS5 Pro, citing the CPU's performance increase from the base model only being 10%. https://t.co/0uyNqq3dDQ
Zen 2 CPU is not enough for 60 fps on PS5 Pro
Another example of lazy development
the trailer was on FSR ultra performance
it's taking them how long now, 6 years?
It's amazing that the Xbox One and PS4 are capable of running Red Dead Redemption 2 despite having a trash old Jaguar CPU that's slower than a FX-8100
PS5 CPU is literally like 5X faster than PS4 lmao
But developers lost their touch in recent years
zen 2 has shit IPC don't be surprised
Zen 2 is light years ahead of Bulldozer/Piledriver though lol
they didn't lose touch the games just downscaled on the old consoles to 720p/600p half the time to maintain performance
or 30 frames
the new consoles are still underpowered though, nothing changes
PC2 what did i miss?
what is pc2? a highly optimised new OS and 5090? 😄
anyway i hope my 3090 will run gta6 with some dlss. i probably wont be upgrading in a while
pc2 is in development xD
I kinda wanna know who are the tech experts, sounds like they know nothing about it
digital foundry is one of the gold standards in regards to reviewing games, they do
so in a way
they never saw the source code or even got their hands of a running demo in the console
so in other words
Source: Trust me bro
I love that
the ps5 pro dev kit has been leaked publicly that is why we know what to expect, it's a minor upgrade over the ps5, so performance will not be that that different
they're tools for the final product
Plus considering optimization at this time is not even considered
wont the ps5 pro have new upscaling tech tho
the SDK is what the developers use for building their games in preparation for the console's release, it has the technical specifications included within it, it's only a clock difference, the hardware is identical otherwise
yes but this is a CPU limitation, not a GPU limitation
literally a thing you should never speculate is performance when the game isnt even out, there's no demo's about, plus game is still in development. Idk why people even speculate at this time
you forgot to mention they dont run release version until very late stages
they'll run debug and even test builds and tends to be a mess in performance
that's not this lol, GTA 6 is coming out next year, it will already be pretty much finished
there's nothing wrong with speculation, he's just saying don't be surprised if it doesn't, it's not a wrong argument
yeh not shit. My point is dev kits aren't your final product, they're machines used to run versions or builds that arent meant to be final
PS5 Pro is literally just a graphics upgrade
yet not my point
CPU is only clocked like 0.3 GHz higher
the tldr is this is GTA and simulations are everything for performance, that is the processor is heavily influential for performance, the speculation he is making is not wrong because as noted the ps5 pro is not different for this in a way that matters, if it doesn't hit 60 on the base ps5 it won't hit it either on the pro
they may use dsr or some other technique to get it to target we have no idea but speculating on this isn't incorrect, the console hardware on the processor side is extremely bad related to today
Until then you wont know. Rockstar doesnt even tell what's their minimal requirements the games needs to run at
and I dont even mean FPS only
there is no minimum requirements, this is consoles
Xbox Series and PS5 CPU only have 4MB of L3 cache lol
Iam not talking hardware wise
the PC version isn't coming out at launch its the console version only
PC version is at least 6 months later but probably more like a year
pretty much, but doesnt stop anyone from make a good game and run at actually good performance rates
Most liekly an year since its a port
the game isn't being ported, it's delayed intentionally
rockstar don't cross release on launch for GTA so people buy on more than one platform
I can agree and disagree, but its a very good debatable argument
physics are a bitch to work with, but usually its how well you can optimize physics. So its more down who writes them and manages it then if the CPU can or can't
optimisation doesn't particularly matter zen 2 is equivalent to 8th gen in IPC, it was already dated by 2020 standards nevermind today, the hardware is physically terrible and there's only so much you can work with in such confines
there is a gulf of 40% or more between zen 2 and 4 for single core performance
devs who dont consider optimizations for their games they have no graphical computing experience at all
no wonder City Skylines turned out how it did
it's not graphical related, this is simulated compute, they are very different things
the GPU isnt used for the parts of the game that actually matters for GTA, it has always been a processor (cache bound) game
like 50-55% difference in 1080p gaming performance between 3700X and 7700X given the IPC and clockspeed differences
I'm not counting the X3D parts but that sounds roughly accurate
is around 50% I vaguely recall by normal
it's always been a dated architecture, the consoles realistically had nothing else they could use, but they suffer for it today
Sonys problem is they need to keep base costs low so if they switch the architecture that disappears, it's already probably going to cost 600 for the pro and they have stated they can't reduce the base one further in price where it is already
Zen 2 still being manufactured today for OEM stuff because it's very cheap to make
good enough for casual users
yeah I mean it's useful for ted who wants to have a pre built pc to read emails, not so much for anything else
for now, won't be for long
I have a Intel N100 which is just a CPU with 4 E-cores, no P-cores at all lol
e cores are very good for single core relative to hyper threading going away as tech, it won't be long before they're faster than zen 2 in single core, is just a case of managing scheduling
E-cores aren't good at being main cores
the N100 is slower than my old FX-6300 in games like runescape and minecraft

it runs those games at like 15 fps
they're not designed for it, it's like running a atom on a game
opening a browser will peg the CPU at 100% utilization for like 10 seconds
not surprised
E-cores should only be used for running things in the background
I got an issue, the mode selection picture cannot be displayed, all of them are black. someone has the same like me?

It looks like the latest APO release now includes the Advanced Mode which enables this performance enhancing feature for 12th and 13th gen processors. It is not entirely clear which CPU models this includes. Historically, official full support has only included 14th gen i7 and i9. https://www.intel....
Is this the thing where it optimises the cores for the games?
yeah
i read in a forum that it make huge difference in some games too
i hope amd stay with all highperforming cores so we dont have to think so much

Haha yeah

NVIDIA mixing GPUs again NVIDIA will be releasing new variants of its GeForce RTX 40 GPUs. This means the company has GPUs with disabled cores that would otherwise go to waste. So instead of […]

that EVGA quality

isn't to do with the quality, just a QA issue
and why you always use the correct cables
Nah f that evga GT killed my 3090 fe before.
Also horizon forbidden west is soo good.
W pc port.
I have everything maxed dlss quality at 155-220 fps
Don't even need dlss 3
How expensive is it for me to install two Ethernet ports in my apartment?
try to get a group deal, can be really expensive to have fiber dragged to your complex otherwise
do you already have one port??/
it's not a screw, the PCIe slot has a clip you need to press down on to release the card
what is the motherboard?
ehm, well is it a pre built or a old office machine or something
is the brand logo on the case, it should be there
do you know how old it is roughly?
yeah go ahead, I'm trying to find the board but I think it's proprietary so you'll need to
(issue is fixed incase other people are reading the chat)
Now im curious what the issue was
the bracket was stuck to the case with a external connector, was relatively easy to solve
A few days ago there was a PS5 Pro leak, this is how PC Gamers reacted to seeing those nice little upgrades coming to The PS5 Pro, sadly the performance uplift ends about until the CPU is revealed to be a Zen 2 Architecture that made a debut in 2019

oh nonononono
as i said a bit ago, unless people want the pro to cost $700, they have little choice
Atleast Xbox will be working on next gen console soon after their mid gen refresh
I wanna see how big that performance leap is for the next Xbox gen console in the future
But the series mid gen refresh looks nice tho ngl
No, not yet
700 wouldnt be too bad, still cheaper than a highend graphics card and thats for a complete system
eh not really
7800xt is like 500 nowadays and a 4070 is roughly the same price, gre is just slightly higher
The problem is convincing gamers to get it
i dont even have a reason to get a normal ps5 let alone a ps5 pro
especially in australia $700 usd would be over 1000 aud in australia
i dont see people paying that for a console
I dont know if this is the right channel but: My XSX hard crashes when I play 2042. It just fully shuts off, anyone else have this problem?
I sometimes have it. But I will say that it gets better whenever I take popular measures to improve gaming performance like getting a monitor with AMD FreeSync (to allow for variable refresh rate). Next, I’m going to hire an electrician to install Ethernet ports into my apartment so I can have better internet
Is it just me or is frame gen broken? Last time I checked was a month ago, and the fps difference was close to zero
2042 doesn't use frame generation
Then what the hell is future frame rendering
future frame rendering is predictive scheduling of frames, it's used to balance the CPU load
I see, guess that settles it

GRE edition for 10% performance, it reminds me of the ps5 pro. They really tryna make ez money kek
im running a i7 4770 with a gtx 1660 ti 512 gb ssd and 16 gb of ram. whenever i play BF2042 it says 98 to 100 cpu usage am i bottlenecking ? is it safe to keep playing it?
i know its an old cpu but still
If the temp is fine then yes its safe
its only when the temp is above the threshold
then its unsafe
you are bottlenecking
unless the gpu usage is near 100%
but the cpu is a bottleneck and yoyu aren't fully using the gtx 1660ti
the gpu says like 47 percent
is it still safe to run?
sweet.
also check temps and make sure its fine
i think last time i played it was around 60c
ight. well looks like its not overheating
its not, the thermal delta is 95
what about tcase?
tcase doesnt matter
alright, if you say then yeah @flint pewter your fine, just expect lower settings
the processor will adjust its clocks and voltage to retain a certain temperature, nothing is "overheating" unless it exceeds 95
how do you uninstall the ea app
Open up control panel, go to unistall program and ea app
oh, is it on steam
no
That link is a bit sus, can you just dm the screenshot of your cocntrol panel
i cant open battlefield 4 and newer because of the ea app
its a screenshot
post the screenshot of control panel
they couldn't help
so as long as my cpu temp is under 95 im good?
yes
just dont be expecting good performance, and expect possible stuttering/jittering in matches
it runs fine i get like 100 fps. it just says 98 to 100 cpu usage. ill boot it up and moniter the temps tho
i plan on upgrading to a i7 12700k in the near future
as i said expect those things to happen with what you have currently
i know its just after recently becoming a memeber of the pc master race i just cant play fps games on console anymore. they dont feel right
i would but ps5 doesnt have KbM support for battlefield
platform elitism is cringe lol
lol true
'master race' when they need to spend $1000 to have performance as good as a $400 console
No such thing as best platform, they all have their own advantages and disadv
you can build a 500$ pc that beats ps5 and xbox. also technically pc is best but i dont care what ppl play on. im not super into that. but pc is technically the best.
its annoying. dont get me wrong.
no you cant
you can. linus tech tips did it
that video is misleading its not equivalent to the consoles
they use custom NVMe drives which on pc if you try to match that cost a fortune
i just went to amazon. you can get a really good nvme for like 90 bucks
again it doesnt match them
you want to match the ps5 nvme drive enjoy paying 200 or more
if you say so. also you dont even need a nvme. im using a SATA drive. works great. but we will just agree to disagree.
i have a pc which physically cant be upgraded because its using top of the line components
if you want to match the consoles you need a nvme, its not optional
thats your problem then. im using like a 300 or 400 dollar pc. one simple cpu upgrade and i can beat a ps5 or xbox.
the best component i have is the 1660ti
no you cant lol, your gpu doesnt even come close to the consoles
they have equivalent to a 6700xt in performance, you are around 40-50% off
if you say so. when even a ps5 cant even run raytracing without going under 30 fps. but a rtx 2060 is like 160 bucks
plus i can run games that even ps5 and consoles dont even have. that already beats it
not true RT. cyberpunk RT only allows 30 fps
not so. is total war on consoles? nope. what about arma 3? squad? mods? barely
yes and countless other games dont dude
spiderman for example has global illumination and runs at 60 frames
you just proved my point. you can get a pc with a rtx 2060 and a good cpu and play cyberpunk at 60 fps with RT all without paying over 600
you cant run "RT all" on a 2060 lol
because the 2060 is shit for raytracing
if you enable GI on a 2060 in cyberpunk enjoy playing at 20 frames
or path tracing
thats true but you can still activate it and run it at 60 fps. UNLIKE PS5
bro ps5 doesnt even have pathtracing. its just basic RT. you cant even customize your graphic settings on console. your lucky to even set a fps limityer
so what?
you cant run path tracing either and neither can a 2060
why does it matter?
so. my point being a less then 600 dollar pc is way better then ps5 cuz you can run basic RT at 60 fps if not better with better looking resolution
path tracing, is not basic RT
you understand this yes
you cant turn on PT a 2060, its not powerful enough
neither can a ps5
and why is this relevant?
OMG
ill try to say this like im talking to a 5th grader. both a 2060 and ps5 cant use pathtracing. but both can use basic RT right? well the pc could run it more then 60 fps. ps5 is locked at 30. now which is better?
bro i looked it up you can use a rtx 2060 have raytracing and get over 60 fps
your wrong again
this isnt accurate
hmm does ps5 have dlss? oh thats right it doesnt.
yes it doesnt
thats the point
native the 2060 doesnt hit 30 frames
so it loses, to the consoles, at native, i hope you understand that
even at native it can. bro. fine you wanna do this? RTX 3060. you can get one for about 160 bucks maybe 170. still better
pair it with a decent cpu still under 600
ok? lol im not particularly interested in whatever hardware combo you have
i think im losing braincells talking to you right now lol
you think this is some competition i was just telling you that you were wrong
you can buy a gpu that beats the consoles yes, the 2060 isnt one of them
and im telling you your wrong. you can build a under 600$ pc thats beats ps5

we need a 3rd opinion
no we dont
yep cuz you seem to not get it
^
please read
i did. and i gave up arguing with you so i switched to a 3060
which at around the same price can beat ps5
then whats the contention? a 3060 beats the consoles
the contention is that you said you cant build a 500$ pc that beats consoles
specification for specification, yes you cant, because as i said for the fourth time now, the nvme on pc for that equivalent is around 40% of the $500 "budget"
please dont make me say it for a 5th time
again i found another that beats ps5 for 99 bucks
so yes you can get one without paying a fortune
do you even know what nvme the ps5 uses? lol
sorry to break it to you my guy but the ps5 one is better than that
The Series X and Ps5 are really damn good for their price range. You can't really build a PC that's better nowadays for under that price.
read what? lol
the link
.. the digital foundry one, which is testing ps5 nvme drives.. not pc?
you can buy a better ssd then the ps5 for 100 bucks
The SSD's for current gen are really good in themselves.
it literally says available for pc outperforms ps5
expensive as shit too for pcie gen 5
you need to understand what a nvme drive is
because googling for these isnt going to help you here
the ps5 drive has a custom architecture which uses a 4 way lane system for queuing data, those drives do not exist on pc except for high end premium ones launched at the quarter end of 2021
the one you linked, doesnt use this either, youre just googling for stuff which makes no sense for this
bro. its like talking to a brick wall here. also end of 2021? you realize you can get a nvme after 2021 for not much right?
YUS
X3D chips delayed as always yeah?
uhh im not certain on if the x3d is delayed till after, if so it wont be long
Yeah
It feels weird to be on the horizon of a 9000 series announcement.
I'm really excited to see how things would improve by the time they're readily available.
B750, DDR5, Etc.
ddr5 is very cheap currently, wont get much cheaper
there wont be, not a massive one anyways
Probably teetering at the edge to be honest.
clock speeds are limited by the IMC on zen, not memory
zen 5 isnt a huge change from zen 4 for that
Yeah true. Cause doesn't the 7000x3d series have a 6000 MHZ limit?
its not a wall but 6000 is guaranteed to work for zen 4
anything above that isnt guaranteed, you can do it though
I swear I remember you mentioning something like that.
But I guess really 6000 MHZ is the fairest you could go for.
games dont see any benefit from higher clock speeds anyways, so its essentially meaningless
you can run jedec ddr5 speeds and youre still going to get 95% of whatever the xmp gets
So really what, Just run the same kit you did previously?
Do you see yourself going to the 9000 series or just sitting on your own chip for a while? You have so many cores, So much l3 cache.
ive got a 7950x3d, if the price is right ig maybe, but its not a massive priority for me
Ye
If there are any ram manufacturers you would recommend against, Who would it be?
ones that arent actual brands, other than that it doesnt matter
ddr5 kits are all roughly the same
only thing you should be aware of is buy a dual kit of whatever size you are wanting, dont buy 2x2 sticks
I remember you mentioning something against Corsair when I was making my PC so I'm kinda weary about them.
Oh keep to 2 sticks.
Got it.
corsair for ddr4, specifically vengeance, the rest of their kits are fine
Jeez louise DDR4 is fucking nothing.
Ye that's fair.
Not going for an ASUS Mobo that's for sure haha
yeah avoid asus boards, rest are fine
you wont
the next gen boards arent going to be better in a way that matters to you compared to what exists already
Guess so.
they already have pcie 5.0, massive amounts of nvme slots etc, the next chipset is just a minor change over current
Not much QC issues with DDR5 kits compared to DDR4
Like there really isn't many DDR5 kits/models to avoid
Typical mid-range B650 motherboards are more feature rich than any high-end AM4 chipset
Though you might find more USB ports on the I/O plate of some X570 boards but that's about it
When I look for a motherboard these days I just look at what Audio codec it uses and number of fan connectors and their location
I know for sure that the 9800x3d will consume more power than the 7800x3d - I just hope it won't be significant enough.
In before the 9800x3d is some damn mess of a chip.
is there any wrong with the asus rog b550 motherboards i should know about and maybe change some setting in bios? i bought one after my x570 broke and their prices had increased way too much
i just saw that it had a good vrm and bought it
all seem to run fine tho, without any crashing or instability
but ye its been a while now so everything is probably fine
also , people over at another computerforum are telling me to use the built in bios options to undervolt the 5800x3d. that it benifit alot
but someone here told me not to
apparently its safe from bios but u should never use any software
if u do it right i guess
I overclock ddr5 and I avoid gskill
Poor cooling on the pcim
4090 is sooo cool btw
My fan speed never go above 60% because the gpu never go above 60c unless I push it really hard.
I'm just blown away by the power draw with a vbios flash 1.1v overvolt
I get to enjoy Horizon forbidden west 160-200+ fps dlss quality at 1440p all max settings.
So I would recommend anything hynix A die. Very common is 6000 cl30, I would avoid micron die they wall around 5200. You will see kits are 5200 cl40. Samsung die is around 6000 cl36
Also I have static pinned over 14 zen2 and zen3 cpu from degradation on ltt discord, pcmr discord and in real life. This is going crazy. I started ignoring it cause there are sooo many. Sucks for them.
I just care for Cl30 6000MHZ+
I just don't know the average you'd for for DDR5.
so I'm basing it off cl30 6000mhz
My 6400mhz cl 32 is finally running well with my new motherboard. Not touching them again ^^
if you search on it theres alot of hits from people who get really good results from undervolting the 5800x3d
im tempted to
do not undervolt it
the voltage is capped so it can't boost higher than it's factory, you will have instability if you try to UV it, leave it at stock
i guess ill find out, i did a slight decrease. seem stable so far tho. thanks for the reply anyway
what's wrong with corsair vengeance line of ram sticks? and what's wrong with asus motherboards?
their bins are not guaranteed to run at their defined specifications because the components are constantly swapped to save money, Asus boards overvolt hardware by default which can (and has) cause the processor to degrade faster as it's outside factory specifications
in the case of certain x3d processors cause them to die entirely fairly shortly
Ah I see 👀 thanks for letting me know
✅
I undervolt my 3080 and it’s more cooler at the same performance. I never have an issue undervolting it
Unless your talking about CPU then I haven’t touch CPU yet
Seeing x3d chips blown up from the inside caused me so much fucking pain.
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/07/03/tech/flying-car-faa/index.html
few years, at most
Watch the prototype fail
the technology is actually pretty far along than most assume, it's only a matter of time till they're certified for driving
It’s gonna be hella expensive. Millionaires prob can’t afford it
now you just gotta get a pilots license to drive your car
Since it’s electric. The charging to full is finna be hella slow
?
The battery have to be hella big right?
nope

flying cars aren't like planes, they don't use an engine for propulsion, they rely on the aerodynamics of the car itself to maintain a cruising state
So it takes fuel
no, the parts that need to be powered are the interswitching of the wings and driving on the ground
not the air
the concept isn't particularly new and has been around for eons now, there just wasn't a way to do it at scale in a economic way till recently
So it flies like an airplane for takeoff?
yes to gain altitude it has to use the engine for propulsion, once it's in the air it switches off, etc
the consumption isn't going to be anything marginally different to an electric car driving on a road
you misunderstand that an engine is there to overcome friction for motion, on a road the friction is the tire creating resistance with the ground, there is none of that in the air
Just make it hybrid
realistically aviation related stuff was always the next frontier, it just makes the most practical sense for solving capacity issues, we already have jetpacks and the like, vehicles are the next thing
it's safer than driving on the road, if that counts for much
