I made this quick edit to the latest and greatest concept art everyone has been raving about just to show how the stylistic color of BF3 really set the mood and set it apart from all the other shooters out there. The ominous dark tones on maps like metro and seine crossing is what made them really feel cinematic and war torn and fun to play of course. I'm kind of tired of recent games all going for the same "realistic" look that makes everything look flat and boring (talking about you cod, lol). I know that many people always complained about the blue tint but I personally thought it gave BF3 character and I didn't mind it gameplay wise. No modern shooter since BF3 has really gone with this dark and gritty approach to the color grading and I'd really like to see it return. That's all. (P.S. the mods over on reddit removed my post so last ditch effort to share here. Not sure why they removed it but I believe I am following all the guidelines there and here as well. I take zero credit for this concept art. Also, I mean no harm towards the original art direction, it looks really good too. I just wanted to share my own personal taste of color grading from the beloved Battlefield series and felt it would bring about some discussion and thinking from both parties. Thanks.)
