I disagree. It was worse about 2 months post launch, most of the disappointment and anger was peoples genuine thoughts on the reddit at initial launch.

Cause 2 months in was when the "game dead" stuff started and became super annoying.

people seek social validation, and youde be surprised to see the lengths people will go to get it. Expectations aren't met, people dont like the game, reviewers see this and try to make reviews that appeal to people who dont like the game, and its a downward spiral. Same with reddit. They are trying to appeal to popular consensus. This isn't to say that there aren't a lot of people who genuinely dont like the game and have valid reasons for it, but from what ive seen, a large portion of the criticism just isn't on point.

BF1 is the most historically-accurate compared to every other BF, you really want to stay in a trench 99% of the time and be forced by your commander to charge into enemy territory and die just to advance by like a few metres? @solid hinge BF1 is the only WW1 shooter actually playable rn.

lets also remember this fanbase is not really that objective with its criticism. BFV got lambasted before it even released simply because it had a woman in the trailer, and a large portion of the criticism from that point on was over females in the game. This is despite the fact that the game was always pretty awesome to play.

well, HLL is the midpoint between sim and arcade. BF is, by comparison, just big call of duty. That said, I think the game would have been more fun if it focused on rifles and pistols, historical accuracy aside it just sounds like a very satisfying game to play.

Notably, pistols were primary weapons back then. And carbines, which were in every other bf game, are strangely gone from 1.

i didn't play bf2042 but sniping gets really annoying at times even in BFV with 64 players, 128 players would probably feel like garbage, a lot of people also described the experience as it feels way too random, and with that amount of people it makes sense

from what i know, maps don't have enough cover and are sometimes just 50% open fields

(the "abilities and traits" were even with the class system in BFV as example, because of different combat roles, customizable gadgets and guns etc., the specialist thing mostly leads to the dumb mistake of BFV's special character preset skins, feels dumb when you see two people with literally the same character at the same time)

again, i'm not giving my opinion about bf2042 as something that i'm completely sure about, but i've seen some gameplay of the game and i have ideas about how 128 players would feel, considering that even 64 players at times feels random with snipers being around

as conclusion, 64 players, traditional classes instead of specialists which can be sometimes picked by a lot of people and look just weird having ten same characters while they bring nothing better than gadget system from BFV as example, would be better imo

oh and also, i just think that the game having literally probably the lowest rating through all franchise wasn't unreasonable, they may fix it later but i still have no idea why would they release such a raw product, what did EA think while pushing dice devs to release bf2042 in that state (unless it was actually dice themselves, and in this case, what did they think)

It’s not sad at all. Team of designers just followed stupid orders from stupid leaders, created soccer field like maps that aren’t fun play from so many reasons. So changing the game will require replacing all the maps (64 breakthrough fail) which is never going to happen unless you give more 60 dollars to ea and pray that they’ll produce good maps. Also 128 mode that’s not making the game feel better(if anything, can only make it feel worse) and even 64 players mode fail miserably in bf2042 like I’ve said.

It has it, sort of, it just throws you in a random server but idk the criterias it uses to pick the server, sometimes you need to wait two minutes to find a server while the server browser shows a bunch of servers with four free slots or more, and sometimes it throws you in a server with only five people on it or in a server which almost ended it's game and one of the teams has like 50-100 lives already

you can lead planes to the AA turrets of your team if they're chasing you and the turrets are nearby with someone on them, but other than that idk, i don't play aircraft much and wouldn't really recommend it if you're very new to the game in general ig

The suppressor is very good

It hides damage indicators to enemies who get hit by it

with BFV's time-to-kill it would be much faster to just kill someone with a ZK or Type 2A before they have time to look at you than to rely on suppressor tbh

and in face-to-face grease gun usually just loses

The grease gun does have quite good TTK though

lower than sturmgewehr (not sure about that tho), ZK and type 2A so it has a disadvantage in face-to-face, and if shoot from the back, it would be faster to use any of before mentioned guns

I only imagine an use for it being to not get killed after you shoot an enemy a few times but the enemy got behind the cover while being still alive, but that's so situational and that's a generally bad situation to get into

it would probably be useful for shooting someone at long range but grease gun's damage scaling on range is terrible, iirc it's damage gets like x0.3 or x0.4 at 30 meters

threat assessment is very helpful, don't just go into an engagement and shoot randomly

pick your targets based on how much of a threat they pose, and back off if you can't handle it. TTK is relatively long so backing away from a fight is a viable stategy

Practice & repetition is what you need along with friends you can squad up with regularly. Try different classes/guns then stick to a handful of setups (usually changing dependant on map or scenario). Don’t be too tentative, keep moving purposefully, flanking is the best away to attack (easier to kill people when shooting at their backs!).
 
Move with squad, play your role whether by healing, resupplying, spotting etc. Don’t run blindly in for revives, scope the area and kill nearby enemy first.

Yeah depends on the gun

If you're using an accurate gun that fires slowly, like (assuming we're talking BF4) the SAR-21 or AUG A3, then don't reload insatntly after a kill

Generally what I WANT to do after getting a kill with those kinds of weapons is check my angles first to see if anyone is approaching, THEN reload.

If you're using a fast-firing gun with not too much ammo like the AS VAL or MTAR for example, bring a powerful pistol and check your angles with that before reloading, assuming you've fired off most of your mag already.

And if you're using an LMG just don't reload until you have like less than 15 rounds left, and make sure to find a safe spot before doing so.

squad thing requires actually playing (unless you have a friend who is ready to just go with you to some server and keep shooting so that you can throw him ammo pouches as support for the refill thing) and the health thing is, well, i'm not entirely sure but iirc you can do that in the Combined Arms mode, basically set easy difficulty and play it, it'll be easy to kill a ton of enemies there

revolvers/pistols/handguns exist, sure, but they don't block the enemy completely from attacking you unlike melee finishers

also it's just pretty nice to spam melee in smoke with enemies in it, you can't really see them, but you'll attack them anyway without making much noise

that's all situational but carrying a melee weapon doesn't do anything bad so eh, why not use it when it's good

for me personally the zk is better. Bulletspeed for the zk is 495 meter/second for the tommy gun its 330m/s. The magazine may be smaller on the zk but you can use a trait for the faster reload and you will reload really fast if you have still a bullet left in your magazine. The 30 mag is enough to kill 3 enemies if you hit your shots. Also the zk has that move 60% faster while aiming trait, which lets you strafe and peak really nice. With the tommy gun you are more static.
