That's why people love it. Battlefield was and is still the perfect mix between arcadey and accessible gameplay but with the scale of combined arms warfare usually only seen with realistic games. I'm surprised not a lot of people are trying to copy them imho.

It's impossible to kill infantry with jet cannons due to having to go against the speed of the jet, low splash range, and low damage against vehicle and infantry alone

The "Weapon Damage" stat really means nothing in 2042, as the DM7 and the SVK both end up with 75 damage when you put on high impact rounds. The DM7 is still only a 3 hit bodyshot kill however and needs a headshot to kill in 2

hey all, im loosing my shit over this game. since release date i have only been able to play once. now i am getting stuck in the install in progress play with AI or exit to desktop. I have deleted the game, reinstalled twice, looked over the net for people having the same issue and have done what some have suggested. still nothing.

idk why but the m1917 is just easy to hit people with, yes it dosent have a sweet spot, and you need to hit the head for a 1hk, but it consistently hits for 80-92 while the gewver can hit for 60 for some dumbass reason

Battlefield has went down hill, bf2042 should have been the game that would bring back old fans, veterans and so on. A lot is missing in the game. I feel like every true battlefield fan would agree that specialists dont belong in the game. I honestly tried giving it a chance, played for for 2 weeks non stop but it just doesnt feel as good as other battlefields. Theres 0 squad play, specialists look cringy like im assuming EA didnt make enough money out of BF V and elite skins they sold there so they r abusing this system for money.

If you have an inaccurate gun they will shoot all around the crosshair even if you have it directly on someones head, but accurate guns will hit exactly where you aim

For what it’s worth, servers with DLC maps on Xbox are hard to come by, but extremely fun when you do find them (if they’re sufficiently populated, and there aren’t players with way too much time in the game hogging vehicles and spawn-killing). Premium is worth picking up, especially if it’s on sale. Individual DLCs, probably less worth it. The DLC guns are very nice, though unlocking them can be rather tricky now, since many of them require that you play on DLC maps. Don’t forget to grab Night Operations and Community Operations if you don’t already have them. They’re free.

Also, as much as it annoys me (as someone who actually did the whole Phantom program), you can permanently unlock the Phantom Bow by playing Community Operations. It’s a battle pickup weapon on one of the maps, like the HVM-II, USAS-12 Frag, AT-4 CS, or the MGL, but you get to keep it permanently. I think one person gets to grab it per match?

Side note: though I am annoyed by the existence of that easy unlock method, I do understand it, as completing the Phantom program is extremely hard and time-consuming, especially given the smaller player base at this point.

There are a few, but...they’re often either empty or full of rank 140s spawn-killing with attack helicopters. Gulf of Oman is particularly bad in that regard...

Funnily enough, speaking of FLIRs... Type 95B-1 with FLIR, flash hider, target detector, and presumably angled grip (can’t remember for sure) is my go-to carbine. Recoil is extremely managable, it’s usable at extreme ranges if you’re patient... I use it to spot targets when I’m a passenger in a vehicle. Use the FLIR to find people, spam the spot button, and let the target detector grab whatever fails to spot manually.

My only complaint about it is that recoil doesn’t seem to reflect properly in the FLIR view. The view always seems more stable than it actually should be, and it makes it hard to compensate for the recoil that it does have...

As a soldier with view how the modernization works in army I wonder how the technology went so far ahead in just 21 yrs. Most of the armies atm dont even think about getting new guns for their armies they just get new versions of the same gun.

Russia works on making AK-12 their main rifle

USA have their M4 and getting M27 more and more

GB just got L85A3

Same goes for vehicles - look how Humwee got replaced by MRAP in BF4 now it is Oskosh atm and I dont think that will change.

Also if world went to shit and countries collapsed there have not been many arms manufactories to make new techology such as rheinmetal based in germany that makes many stuff that world uses.

In my opinion they could have used pretty much same stuff as we have now with changes such as T-14 armata for RU side and M1A3 with 140mm cannon for US side or the new EU project making Leo as base stuff and turret from Leclerc.

What about helicopters ? Well Apache is good there would be new rockets, radar and engine, RU could still use Mi-28MN which is like two yrs old update. Osprey and Hind is also good stuff. RU have the Mi-35 update which could be further updated.

I mean dont be mad on me but for me its just strange. World went to shit, no more resources and such, constant battles and you leaped so much in so little time to have this kind of weaponry.

There will be never such thing as a M1A3, let alone with a 140mm cannon. Abrams is due to be replaced by the end of this decade, and the new tank will most likely also mount a 120mm cannon

And the Euro MBT you're speaking of will never enter any service ever. It was just a joint project which was quickly scrapped and both countries are upgrading their own designs at the moment.

Besides being a soldier I am paramedic in army and trust me you wouldnt like to see your insides in that armor after being shot. Its nice that the armor would hold the round but the shock would destroy your inner body. Also if you saw somebody in that armor you would use explosives because they work the same.

Its the same as with medieval armor. Knights used plate armor against sharp weapons which was great until some warrior dashed with blunt weapon and hit the thorax or head. Yeah you would still be complete but you would have internal bleeding which would be dead in the medieval age.
