IMO that’s missing the point. Old DICE actually wrote blogs before BF3&4 about how important getting the silhouettes of the soldiers just right was. There had to be enough to differentiate US/RU at a glance AND ALSO CLASSES! that way, in the middle of a fight, you could tell who/what you were fighting and act accordingly.

This is a big thing IMO and it’s sad that specialists and the new model of money is having a bad impact on that.

For me, a max-ticket Metro match on BF4 comes to mind, where we estimated that I got as many as 500 revives (around 75,000 points, but with only 20 or so kills). Oh, is it glitched, like you died and it’s just stuck staring at your body? No, wait, that was BFV, I think. V would go into a state where it didn’t take you to the deploy screen after death, but did consider you dead, so it removed redeploy from the pause menu. I think it was 1 that has an issue with black screen or sometimes just missing UI for the pause menu. I ended up memorizing the pause menu, because even though it’s not visible, you scan still interact with it and redeploy, if you know the menu and count your button presses.

The ACW-R, you mean? Pretty good, as I recall, but there might have been a patch since I last used it heavily. My go-to carbine as an engineer is a Type 95B-1 with a FLIR, target detector, and...darned if I remember what muzzle and grip. Probably flash hider and angled, but maybe compensator?

I use that setup for spotting targets as a passenger in helicopters and boats. Still spam the spot button, but the target detector helps a little bit. The Type-95B-1 is pretty stable, and very versatile. A little weak at range, but stable enough to still be usable at range when tap firing or set to semi-auto. The tricky part of learning it, however, is that the FLIR has a tendency to hide your recoil. I don’t know if it’s bugged, but the view through a FLIR has a strong tendency to be rock-steady, even when you know you’re bouncing all over the place, so it helps to use it without the FLIR and learn the recoil characteristics.

Bots cannot take up queue spots. Only actual slots, if a server has 62 players, its most likely botted.

Also if you use the browser to launch the game, BetterBattleLog extension shows servers without the bots being counted as players.

BF1's server browser isnt bad but BF4's servers are better because all the servers are not EA servers anymore, meaning people use plugins and stuff to delete cheaters from existence.
I've never ran into a cheater in BF4 this year. And if I did they were banned in under 5 minutes from every server that also used the plugin.

Bots are good for games idk why people hate them so much. Like bf2 is one of my childhood games because despite not being able to play online I could play with bots. I used to play a lot of games with bots and even nowadays when I'm much better at games and do prefer real players most the time being able to relax in a game with bots is still really fun. And bots help extend the life of the game so why do so few games have them?
