It can be a harsh game. Most will need to level up guns to fair well against opponents. They also need to learn the flow of the maps as best as they can as some of them are rather unbalanced.

Unfortunately server owners reserve the right to do so. Wether it be a matter of them not disclosing the rules in an effective or meaningful way or at the discretion of an admin which may or may not be for personal gain.

Best thing to do in that case is look for a forum or discord attached to the community server and file a complaint against the admin.

The problem with training on BF4 for BF2042 is that it’s not the most modern battlefield

BFV has the most advanced movement system in Battlefield to date

In addition

2042’s TTK is said to be similar to BFV’s

The vehicle combat is also similar with 2042 using BFV’s slower turret traverse system

For aircraft I can’t say

The call-ins like ranger and vehicles, Battlefield V is also the closest

2042 is like if BFV’s gameplay mechanics and BF4’s time period got busy

The best advice i can give is is to use optic attachments for guns in BF4

Using iron sights is usually a bad idea
