its not all bad, theres a cooldown and the revive range is very limited in bf1 but bf4 has a few extra centimetres or so of revive range
plus: animation revives nearly always end up in the person reviving either dying or being harmed to the point that they stop reviving to go heal
with instant revives you can just go up to an enemy, fix them up and then go to others or fight any enemies possibly near there
