So Hardline came out after BF4. I was going through the wiki and saw the Commander Mode for this later release on the DICE engine which is called Hacker Mode. Holy hell is it more awesome than the BF4 Commander Mode

HVT is automatic in that you can't choose anyone. They have to be doing really well without dying. When they're spotted and they're "eligible" for HVT marking, their dorito will have brackets around it, same as your squad leaders have brackets on their triangles.

You can select a squad on the right side of your screen, or use the numbers on your keyboard to go through 10 different squads. You can then right click anywhere including objectives and HVT marked individuals, and click on the blue dorito option in the opened Commander context menu to order a squad leader. When ordered, a SL must hold down the spot key and accept or deny these orders. Nobody bothers to do that, though.

Proxy is excellent at cancelling enemy cruise missiles, as well as preventing the enemy Commander from gaining/denying intel. During moments where you need your team not spotted nor denied map coverage, a proxy is the tool for the job.

Vehicle and infantry scans are important for you as a Commander on an advanced level. A UAV provides a constant unending spot on anything in its radius, but sweeping scans only reveal infantry/vehicles only on your map but for nobody else For 1.5 seconds.

I see where BF4 was trying to go with the vehicle balance vs the infantry balance, aside from the attack chopper, whose gunner is simply too powerful. The extent of equipment all infantry has access to tells me infantry were supposed to be utilitarian more than BF3 was. Infantry were supposed to be more well rounded in what they could use on the battlefield. But nobody uses the equipment so vehicles end up dominating over infantry in almost all engagements.
