I think, as someone to whom BFV was their least favourite thus far (and not for the reasons I'm stating first), the dislike is more symbolic; the fiasco that game was when it first launched, with EA taking it's attitude towards players after telling them one thing and giving them another, and telling people they were bad people for not accepting it as such. Gameplay-wise it doesn't feel too bad, a little fast and small for my tastes (my reason for it not being a fav), and also bugs. IK, at least from my perspective I've dealt with netcode issues, unreasonably high pings, server crashes and more since launch

Battlefield V isn't a bad game on it's own, but lumped in with the controversy EA got into pre-launch, it is no wonder why it fell flat. It's like your parents getting you an ice cream cone, before they tell you they're getting a divorce; the ice cream just isn't good because of what came with it.
