we didn't care about accuracy too much because most battlefield games didn't require it
bf1 was acceptable, and in my opinion one of the best bf games! they took creative liberties but kept everything fairly realistic and believable

now when you look at bfv, you see female soldiers who weren't present, despite what EA may say
you get crazy quirky cosmetics, face paint, etc.
you get none of the massive battles from one of the bloodiest wars in history like d-day, stalingrad, the battle of berlin, etc., you get minor conflicts that aren't that exciting (but credit where credit is due, the maps were very nice)

BF1 was anything but "fairly realistic and believable", its objectively speaking a worse depiction of WW1 than BFV is of WW2 on account of the presence of Semi-Automatic Rifles, Submachine Guns, copy-pasted tanks/planes, and a stark lack of trench warfare. The only difference is, DICE acknowledged this when addressed and emphasized it wasn't realistic. The only major thing wrong with BFV is...women exist. However, EA (read: Patrick Soderlund) in this case decided to push a blatantly false narrative. He stepped down afterwards as a result of his comments. Other than that, its about on par with realism than any other game in the series.

Honestly, I'm still not a huge fan of the fact that any specialist can have any gadget, as I strongly believe there should be a dedicated class system, but at the same time... We'll have to see how it plays out. Could be fine, could not. We don't know.

One thing that I worry, however, is that because people are fucking selfish, that they're just gunna go Casper + AR + medkit or something, because from my understanding of Casper that would be the strongest rushing class simply because of his permanent motion sensor. Now if it comes to light that it works differently than I expect, then maybe that'll change.
