play maps with a lot of water for the swimming kills, keep close eye on any destroyed or nearly destroyed boats as players tend to bail. Zeebrugge Raid is great for this since there is a lot of people flanking through the water, especially on shock operations.
For capturing objectives, I found a lot of success on Fao Fortress or Empires Edge. Other maps like Heligoland have much more players in the boats who can give you a hard time while youre capping.

Like thats kinda my gripe with sniper rifles in games is they always one shot people and its not really fair

but maybe if certain classes that are usually big targets of snipers had some body armor or something to counter that then id be fine.

I don't know. The only counter to body armor in BF4 was flechette shells and that was arguably just a less-reliable version of buckshot. They'd have to add something like Stopping Power from CoD or something as a counter.

On your point of rifles being OHKs (from the chest up), I mean I kinda agree with it. If you think about it, you get hit in the chest from a high-power rifle, your ass is going on the floor for a bit, whether your plates stopped it or not. You'd be down long enough just to get shot again, so taking out that second step would make sense because nobody would approve of a system where getting shot in the chest by a rifle automatically prones you.

Basically if I designed battlefield supports would have 60-80% of the base movement speed but be able to survive a sniper rifle round to the head, thanks to a heavily armored bodysuit.

Yeah, that's pretty obvious. But sometimes, counterknifing is just shitty. You get punished insanely hard for swinging first. I've had my opponents be incredibly low on HP in a clusterfuck of a fight, so I hit them once with a knife, and they can just press a button to kill me with minimal effort, so using knives as a close-range finishing tool in messy combat just isn't on the table, which is sad.
