The thing about BF4 planes is that they cannot try to play aggressive because of the AA, however they also can’t be touched when they do strafing runs then loiter while they wait for their countermeasures to be refilled

They’re similar in the sense that they stop incoming locks. But instead of hitting the button when the missile is coming with flares, you hit the ecm when you hear the lock sound and they can’t lock on for a while.

The battlefield 1 AA was much better as a gun could damage you but not destroy you in the span of 4 hits
