I never said I wanted to limit those snipers because they were OP, so that doesn't really work.
It's about balancing the flow of the gameplay. Taking and defending bases are more fun when a certain amount of people having a varied mix of vehicles, gadgets and soldiers are doing it. Sure, long range sniping is fun, and they contribute to this balance - what I'm saying is that past Battlefields have shown that too many stationary long range snipers disrupt this balance and thus implementing a few game-play changes to limit their number might help the health of the overall game.

No but using tanks as an argument to limit snipers is just as bad, but while we are talking about tanks, they are known to do the very same "long range sniping" - if you truely want no long range sniping, perhaps call of duty supports this niche better as the maps are smaller. I think its healthy the game offers both up close combat that can be very hectic, and from a far you can take more chill, so you can keep enjoying the game without getting burned out

Maps like Grand bazaar, metro, locker and other similar maps does this naturally by the way the maps are designed with no limit on sniping, as the engagements are closer. I dont think making snipers a "battle pickup" like we had in bf4 is the way to go, they are niche and rarely used. I dont see how punishing recon players will improve the overall experience for those players that come to battlefield for that playstyle, sure you may not agree with them sitting in a corner doing their own thing, but they are having fun in their own way.
