BF1 - EA Desktop - Black screen - Xbox Game Pass users - workaround.
1-Start EA desktop (with internet connection)
2-Then start Battlefield 1 and at the same time it is executed disconnect the ethernet cable.
3-Wait for the menu to load and then reconnect the network cable and update the game from the multiplayer tab.

bf1's dlc is mostly dead due it was behind a paywall called premium. so most server owners tend to run base content only. so you only really get to play a fraction of the content in bf1. in bfv, all dlc was free and for everyone. so all official servers, or community ones, run the same content. bfv is basically the most complete experience you can have in any battlefield games. bfv is also much more active than the rest due its newer.

and it's been free on psn, available through gamepass or ea play on pc and xbox etc. so playercount isn't bad at all
