well if you want a fantasy game set in different parts of the past and present with completely original fire arms they'd essentially need to probably consult with fire arm experts on what it would look like and going about manufacturing an actual gun to get the models out and then have concept artists basically draw the model etc. its easy for them to obviously model guns that exist or had model plans that already documented how the gun would look, function, fire, and the cartridge used

theres no way in hell in ww1 people were moving around in squad formations that small and doing flanking maneuvers. it was mass infantry. now if you want btw to be more realistic in its engagements we should have had alpine fighting on the eastern front, the western front was a push and pull system that constantly was about movement and overpowering of large forces and the use of military bombardments. not "okay 10 of us are going to move 200 yards away from the entire unit and capture this flag" if anything verdun had a more realistic attitude of movement @barren sail

Platoons in ww1 were divided into 10 man sections just like ww2. Armies went over the top in mass but once the army was in range of the enemy it would play out like the game, minus any of it's melee speed shenanigans.
