bf1 had a lot different map design philosophy, so might explain why you didnt enjoy bfv's maps. bf1 maps are much more linear and focused for smaller modes like operations etc. they want you to get into chokepoints and meatgrinder situations. enemies usually come from front or angles to keep track off are low. in bfv, it's much more sandboxy and gives the player a ton of flanking routes to get through the maps. map knowledge and position matters much more in bfv. but a bf1 player might get overwhelmed by this at start due so many angles a person can come from.
