Depending on the map and mode, each team will be alotted a certain number of planes per side. They're usually accessible by HQ spawn points, if one is available. Most maps have 2-3 planes per side. Once a plane is destroyed, theres usually around a 90-second respawn time before another one becomes available.

They're most commonly available on Conquest and Breakthrough. Fjell 652 on conquest has 5 planes per side, though maps like Twisted Steel, Mercury, Hamada, and Al Sundan have around 3 per side on average. (This isn't all of the maps, but around half of the maps do.) Also, 3/4 Pacific maps have planes available

If you want to get a basic feel for plane controls, check out the Practice Range, look for the Open Range setting once you spawn in, then head forward until you find the plane on the runway. I'm personally gonna recommend flying in public matches to get a feel for combat flying, but practice range lets you explore flying as you need. A proper power cycle can do wonders for a console and other equipment like routers, switches, computers etc. Basically just turn it off, remove the power cable, wait 5 minutes, hold the power button down for 10 seconds, put the power cable back in and turn it back on.
