Check your button bindings to see if they're assigned oddly.

If you're already pulling out the phone, then sometimes it's because you're not allowed to call in something at the area you're aiming at, like if it's out of bounds. Maybe you can't call in stuff when you're aiming at smoke too?

Depends™ on your engagement range. StG-44 is a jack of all trades. Ribeyrolles is a good mid range AR and is very stable. I personally love the Breda because you can delete people at mid to close range if you can hit all of your shots in a burst.

To be fair, squad leader is such a waste if the person isn't even using the squad leader features. So it's better off in the hands of someone who may know what they're doing.
