With grounded AA I put a spawn beacon next to one and then run to another. If that one gets blown up, I respawn at the other. 🤣 Although I'm not a huge AA fan

up close youre best bet will be trench, though its also a tad bit weak compared to other up close guns

m3 infared is a good close/med alternative but it has a low mag size and a scope most people hate

if you have decent aim and can single off fights to be 1v1 model8 and rsc have some of the fastest TTKs out there

If you're thinking of using a bolt action as an infantry rifle, the Lee-Enfield and Type 99 Arisaka both have very snappy actions (and machined bolt upgrades) and are more than viable in both Core and Hardcore with a bit of practice.

Actually, in my experience, most MMGs on bipods tend to be much easier to control at range than an SMG. That coupled with less damage dropoff at range and higher ammo capacity meaning missed shots are less punishing makes it so most MMGs much better at range

I’ve basically only been using the mg42 so sure some others have less recoil. I feel like the only real differences between the mmgs is rof and recoil since they all do the exact same damage.

The Vickers machine gun seems good but I literally used it like 3 minutes and changed to mg42 cause I needed to extended mags.

I feel like the spotting changes along with the blurry anti-aliasing single-handily made the atmosphere, and general experience worse in BFV than in it's predecessors.

Spotting changes in my opinion made the game better in comparison to other games. Going back, it felt like most of the time I was just shooting at doritos instead of actually trying to find a human target. In terms of general experience, gunplay is easily BFV's strongest suit and is probably why I've spent so long playing the game

Maybe, MMGs can be a frustrating experience if used outside of their stronger areas. They're really defensively oriented, so trying to use an MMG offensively can be tough.

When it comes to alternatives to the MMG system, I really think we got the best option. It was either let them be as powerful as they are now and allow for normal use (Imagine being able to ADS the MG-42 we have now while standing...) or to make them significantly weaker than they are now (basically CoD WW2 MG-42 🤮 ). The system we have now allows them to be powerful with downsides, as opposed to completely broken/nonsensical or just wholly unsatisfying
