Try doing a 1v1 vs someone. They get to be plane. You get to use stationary aa only. They’d have to be redixulously bad to lose

in a completely straight 1v1 where you spawn a plane, go "here's an AA gun, kill it" then yeah the plane is probably going to win (dependent on specs and what plane, plus the pilot)
but the AA is still very easy/forgiving to use since it has extremely long effective range, which means that especially on maps where there isn't a large obstacle that planes can use, the AA will often kill a plane if the plane doesn't target it straight away
again obviously dependent on the plane itself, the players, and the fact that a headon 1v1 doesn't really happen. theres normally external factors

Most of the time you’ll start shooting them. They evade out of your view in a quarter of a second and then you better get off because they’re gonna come back and kill you instantly

You can bomb almost any stationary gun in the game before it has a full second of you in its view if you fly at it from the correct angle
Usually it’s more like a quarter second
Enough for the aa to fire 2 or 3 shots before the bomb hits

I went 54-3 on a stationary mg the other day. Often go on streaks of 20 or so on stationary tank guns before dying... as though I can spend all game trying to kill planes and it’s nearly impossible but I’ll get a few

it really isn't though considering how planes typically aren't going to instantly know you're on an AA gun. occasionally you'll get a pilot who targets AA emplacements, but for the most part you're shooting people who aren't focusing on you which is basically free kills. and when you bring a second gun into the equation, or just another plane

My main point is that in a modern setting generally there's higher rates of fire and more range on ARs and some SMGs compared to BFV's weapons, so if they keep this recoil model I could see it being a problem. In BFV currently it's a bit of a problem IMO, but not a terrible one. But in a modern battlefield where most weapons are full auto and a decent caliber it could be rough.

I doubt they'll keep the recoil pattern, at least I hope they'll update it. I think they'll change it to suit the setting though, considering full-auto's are about 50/50 with semis and bolties in BFV
