I literally spawned in the middle of a grassy patch, below a bunch of elevated positions, 20 feet from a trench getting shot by an Garand. Dead before I could turn. And it happened a few more times.

I just find it funny that the same weapon with the same round does more than 2x the damage at 100m simply because it's bolt action. Game balance is silly sometimes. Like how I feel in tons of games 9mm pistols and SMGs do the same or more damage than .45. As a lad who likes his guns I get a chuckle out of it.

i will say the distance/heat haze on stuff like hamada can be a bit offputting (hamada as a whole could have looked much nicer, there's a really rich looking version in the prologue) but that's not an overarching thing, just a choice on those maps specifically

Having shit visibility isn't exactly a great thing, its why dice does the passive player thing and character lighting, so you can actually see people.
So add night maps with those things and youre set

I never had a problem with seeing people till Battlefield V, and even then it was a minor annoyance. But enough to notice. And I'm talking actually visually seeing them. Spotted icons always were nice but ultimately weren't super important if you actually used the map/had situational awareness.
Idk specifically what it is about BFV but everything is just a very slight strain on the eyes for some reason.
