The BAR lacks the ammo I want, not that I hate it but I dont want to be a "shoot -> reload -> shoot -> reload" kinda player. I was hoping for a larger magazine weapon. The LMG 08 is alright but im just not sure if I like using it, plus it overheats really fast.

One thing the devs don't tell you is that the spread from hipfire transfers over to ADS if you transition while firing the weapon at the same time. To immediately start with ADS spread, you have to stop firing, completely finish ADSing, then fire again.

I usually stick with the Perino. Very slow overheat, great accuracy, and very quick reload speed.
If you're in a hot situation, just reload a few stripper clips in.

Remember that you can interrupt the Perino's stripper clip reload by pressing the fire button. So if you're almost out of ammo, just try to put in a few clips to hold out a bit longer.
And I usually try to stay ADS'd to keep maximum accuracy, assuming I can anticipate where the enemy is going to pop out from. The hip fire spread isn't particularly horrible either, if I recall correctly.

That's really all you're going to get then. BF1 LMGs are meant for medium to long range, unless it's made specifically for close range like the BAR. You'll have to then either rely on a sidearm or just stick to your intended effective range.

I really really love that scope and big magazine, but sometimes I feel the inaccuracy

LMGs use reverse spread (you need to hold the trigger for the bullets to center on your sights) so you just have to deal with RNG until it settles.
I don't remember if there's a recoil pattern. Either way it doesn't really matter due to reverse spread.

Im controlling the recoil a lot easier because its tilting in one direction more than another, so i can pull diagonally to the right and stay on target neraly the whole time, especially when in bipod

Well I can only fire 36 shots from my LMG 08, by the way I went with the LMG 08 because its got good hipfire, recoil, time-to-kill, ammo, has a scope and it melts faster than the benet provided I hit my shots at long range and holy shit do I love the benet.
If only the benet was an actual LMG and not a big assault rifle.

Just know that it's difficult to get into a DLC server unless it's a weekly rotation, you don't really have that problem with BFV due to the population and the DLCs being free

Both Provence and Al Marj are pretty great. Al Marj is tight and chaotic, while the Provence rework adds a nice open rural setting to the existing town, it’s a nice mix of both and a good map for tanks

Ya cod mostly been small tdm maps as far as i can remmeber. My main concern would be actually network performance with this many players. A little bit on the maps but i am confident the maps would be suited well if they increased player count like this hopefully.

Im having a hard time with BF1 and its a feeling I get from these quicker-paced shooters. Maybe someone can help. I have a hard time justifying using positioning and any gun that isnt low TTK machine. I can sometimes really struggle to make Support and its LMGs work sometimes, yet I pick up an SMG for the first time since I did the last "use this smg to unlock this weapon" challenge and im instantly shredding everyone I come across without even using a single thought.
Its a bit hard to comprehend why the game was made in this way, why have guns that are hard to use when I can use an SMG and do better with less thought?

Each weapon and class has their advantages and disadvantages, usually in terms of engagement range. This is especially strict in Battlefield 1 with spread throwing your bullets everywhere if you fire too quickly. You really have to adapt to what's happening in the overall battle.
Battlefield 1 is a really casual shooter compared to other Battlefield games.

I struggle to make slower firing LMGs work and the difficulty of managing them is significant, at least, in comparison to when I picked up the Annihilator Trench (a weapon I havent ever used before) where the moment I picked it up, I killed 12 people without dying.

Obviously if I shoot them from 30 meters and beyond, they struggle to shoot back but BF1 is a very mobile game and many maps have many closed sightlines and its very easy for an assault player in less than 5 seconds to run 20 meters and immediately pop up and melt you.
Im aware of what range I should engage them but there are factors beyond your control
any any area where an assault player cant sneak up on me, a sniper will headshot me the moment I expose myself by shooting at the approaching assault player
