I tried it last night. I played from my friends account and entered in a party with another friend (We are a bunch of irl friends that play BF1). So we entered a party all 3 of us. The party leader got into a DLC map and after that i clicked on him to join him. I entered Q and after the Q finished and the loading started the game kicked me of the map 🙂 asking me to buy the dlc.

So, yeah 🙂 oh well.

on the positive side my friend doesn't play that much and there are a bunch of servers that still play vanilla maps. so it's okey. if he plays that much that it bothers us he'll buy the premium and that's that

ah, I recommend flying in 3rd person and then shooting in 1st person, as you saw I was comfortable enough to shoot in 3rd person due to being confident in aim (I don't recommend this until you get the jist of flying)
