If you're talking carbine versus mid-length, it's more 300m versus 400m.

Standard 5.56m will travel between 800-900m/sec. The advantage of a full-length over a carbine/mid-length is not only effective distance traveled, but accuracy.

I don't think either title really gets that range correctly, the drop-off seems a bit extreme, but it's fun to shoot regardless.
