might be an hot take but i seriously think that hardline was ea's closest call to making a memorable bf game. i mean, i remember this already being the topic of some discussions here and there but taking cod as an example, being able to point out memorable moments and characters from that franchise even in earlier titles, hardline had the chance to be that game for the bf franchise but the way community treated it killed that chance entirely.

all this at least for the campaign side of things. and no, its not about 'catching up to or being like cod', i sure understand that majority of people claim that bf isnt even a story-focused game anyway, but i feel like this became the norm after hardline 'flopped' and the games after barely included any story.

again, what makes hardline's fate so sad for me is that ea shot its shot making a title with a catchy, rather decent campaign for a franchise that is definitely not known for its campaigns, and coming up with a great final piece of work as well (at least if u ask me). but then its plug is pulled cuz of a 'wrong timing of release' and some ppl saying they'd prefer another copy of bf4 over it. but maybe it was really the 'battlefield' name that put it in the coffin after all, tho it still doesnt make any sense to me to downplay such a game jst cuz it wasnt 'battlefield enough' to some. i mean, there was literally not a single game made with the theme and gameplay similar to hardline, even to this day. and nope, i dont think we should look at the payday franchise

Since March 6, the Asian servers of Battlefield 1 have been suffering from repeated malicious DDoS attacks. Whenever a server becomes populated, it is often targeted and forced offline shortly afterward, making it very difficult for Asian players to enjoy normal matches.
Our community has started organizing manual “warm-up” sessions this evening (around 19:00 UTF+8) where players join servers together to keep them active and playable.
We would really appreciate it if European players could join us for a few rounds when you have time. Even a small number of additional players can make a big difference in keeping the servers alive.
Over the years, many Asian players have felt that the region hasn’t received enough attention or support from EA. If European players could also help by sharing feedback or raising awareness, it would make our voices much stronger.
We don’t want the BF1 Asia servers to become history. We hope to bring the community back to a stable, friendly, and active battlefield for everyone.
Even playing just a match or two with us helps more than you might think.

It’s currently 20:15 UTC+8, and thanks to players joining the warm-up event, the Asia player count has reached around 2000 tonight.

For the past 30 minutes there have been no DDoS disruptions, and several servers are running normally again.

This is only a small step, but it shows that the community is still alive and fighting to keep the servers playable.

Starting with BF V the game became a live service so no more DLC and everything is free for everyone, the difference between the definitive edition and standard or elite vs standard is that some weapons are unlocked from the start instead of having to do assignments

not really but if you see only those that means you clicked on the back to basics playlist and you have those filters in the server browser

to change that you need to go to server browser and press reset filters, then under free slots select the following: none, 1-5, 6-10 and 10+

Well in server browser you can select the servers you play in, you could try entering DICE or DICE Official in the searchbox but I think the custom (back to basics aka bolt action rifle) would still show since they are official servers as well

generally speaking quick match is the last option I'd choose, since BF 2042 and 6 have only that it's a nightmare

how many times have I landed on empty servers, if only those games would have SB so I could queue up on a full server and wait for people to leave so I could join

Match making is only good if you have skill base match making or for competitive play so you have a similar skill range across games

it depends on the players, third sector is hard to take, especially the B point since everybody just goes down the bunker

I have won that operation countless of times as attacker even in 1 wave, there are a few strategies if the defending team stacks the bunker

1. kee the flame trooper alive and send him down the bunker, with a few guys behind him, medics if possible and a few assaults

2. if you have the zeppelin you put it on top of B and once it crashes it will kill everybody at b, have a team on standy to rush B then

3.if you have a decent team, get a tank up at the B entrance and start putting shells down the hallway, then team rushes in

I'm taking a break from BF 1 atm but I used to play tank and it's quite easy imo
