the average battlefield player can achieve like what 0.6kpm to 1kpm? which is fairly shallow in a game where youre almost always within direct contact with multiple enemies on objectives

and to the people who are saying that kills = / = the objective they are just inherently wrong and dont really understand the game, you gain objectives by clearing the objectives, you defend objectives by not allowing players to come on objectives by killing them

which gains you map control

the more map control you have the more usable options and positions you have, which makes gaining more objectives easier

youre also constantly cutting down enemy attack/defending strenght by killing people

on top of this kills gain score

generally you will see more points from kills than flags

unless no one just kills anyone and circles objectives the entire game

which is all proveable pretty much

I’d argue that’s actually part of the problem. DICE/EA aren’t blind when it comes to that. They know the CoD trend is slowly dying down, and so they probably see that as an opportunity to sway a lot of CoD players over to BF. BUT they think in order to do that they have to cater to a “wider audience” by dumbing some stuff down and making it fall more in line with CoD than sticking to BF’s roots

They fail to realize that BF was so popular and successful for so long because it was drastically different from CoD

If they went back to DLC, it’d probably be more along the lines of smaller DLC drops, but with more DLC packs overall, and instead of a Premium pass that encompasses all of the DLC, it’d be yearly passes. Similar to how Insurgency Sandstorm structured their DLC

I think the DLC structure they had up to BF1 benefitted the players more so than the companies, or at the very least it was equal for everyone all around. And sadly DICE/EA wants to make more money, and the way to do that is with live service with FOMO. As much as I’d love to go back to DLC instead of live service, I just don’t see it being a realistic hope
