I tried COD lets just say it can't even stand in Bad Companies shadow let alone breath near BF1. As far as movement I've played many thousands of hours in BF, I feel that BFV had it about right then again that's my opinion, there are young players as well as aged, balance seems best not to tip the scales either way. Music and sound stage in game makes a great part of the game BF1 proved that.

Potentially yes. But there also exists the possibility that BR catches fire and if it does that could mean that resources that would have been allocated to the core game won't. I understand why they feel compelled to do it though. They're under pressure to try something "new" and they've already got the foundational knowledge from BFV BR to draw from and they're going F2P which rectifies a criticism of the past.

And those different people in different departments get paid in currency. Currency that could potentially be put to use adding to the core team for things like creating maps for example. I'm not assuming that BR will be a net negative for the core game, I'm saying it's pretty hard to sort out whether it will or won't be because there's so many variables to consider. For example, attracting players seems like a win but if they never play the core game then it's sort of a wash or even a loss because those are players that could have been playing the core game but then maybe those players would have never played core in any circumstance so you see how it can be hard to calls W's and L's here.

I just listed several reasons but okay here are those plus some others: 1. Money spent on that team could have been spent on the core product 2. BR could siphon away core players. 3. If BR gets bad reviews it might persuade potential new players from not buying the core product via association 4. If BR does really well EA may reroute money towards it that would have gone towards the core product.

1. Budget is virtually always a concern for publicly held company. And it's not just money that's a scarce resource, it's the talent as well 2. That's nonsense, you don't know what they will or won't care about. 3. It is VERY unlikely they'll hold back release during testing unless it's just a total train wreck. Otherwise there's nearly insurmountable pressure for them to see if they can replicate Apex success with F2P model. The BR mode doesn't need to be a trainwreck though to negatively impact the perception of potential customers. They just need to be less than favorable. 4. You don't see how it will effect anything? If the BR team gets money and technical resources that the core team would have otherwise gotten, you don't see how that would impact the core team?

1. There is a lot of daylight between BR and core. It's not like Conquest vs Rush. BFVBR had tons of different mechanics and even some unique gadgets and vehicles like the helicopter. It's balanced waaaaay differently too. 2. Most likely won't care is a fair statement. I think we are agreed there. 3. If the failure leads to fewer people buying the core game that could mean less content and less content affects everyone. 4. You're literally not playing the same game because the lack of those resources means less content and less substantial patches.

I don't know why you're taking such an extreme view on this. What is preventing you from saying "BR could be a net positive or negative for the core game but there's too many variables and unknowns to make that determination?"

This is probably a bit of a hot take, but personally I wouldn’t mind a few weird bugs at the launch of the next battlefield. Nothing too major, maybe just some happy little accidents involving the physics engine like detonating an explosive near a grenade before it goes off sends the grenade flying at Mach turdbucket in a random direction. Obviously patch it eventually, but for a little while it would be hilarious to see in YouTube gameplay highlights

I’m gonna give my opinions on balancing an operations type game mode tell me what you think

1. Objectives captured by the attacking team remain captured and cannot be taken back by the defenders, of course the capture speed is significantly reduced to accommodate this. I’ve always felt that when on the attacking team I’ve always been defending more than the defenders and vice versa, this makes both teams actually play how they’re supposed to

2. Artillery bombardment should become available only for this game mode via commander or a squad leader command)

3. Defenders have an increased spawn time of 20 seconds, emplaced weapons destroyed can’t be repaired

it gives no counter to defenders and you can just perma zerg one point with 32 people and cap it (attacker favored in this case)

no one used this in bf4 and thats a thing in bf5 already

again heavy attack favoring because attackers almost always have more vehicles

and a good tanker/pilot will very rarely or never die from regular infantry

so its heavily vehicle oriented balance aswell

i think if we want a balanced game we should start off from basic elements on what cause imbalances and what does balance look like. Imo a balanced game is a game where both teams have equal opportunity and fair chances at winning or fighting objectives and for this you need a balanced map that doesnt favor 1 side over the other (+ good objective placements, spawns etc), weapon balance/gadget balance has to be good or the match can become very gadget spammy and just unplayable because you can get washed out of objectives super easy if you have 32 people throwing nades at one point (this has been particularly bad in bf1), Vehicle balance revolved around with the mindset of what a good tanker could potentially do to avoid game stomps, anti vehicle weapons/stationaries balanced in locations and ways so that you do not get insta killed and give a fair chance for the tank to fight for the objective, PTFO balance with the mindset of if theres weapons or points of maps that promote camping (necessary because you cant win a match if you have a larger portion of your team no where near the objective), matchamking balance (awful in 5) requires some form of a skill rating system like bf1 had to have some adjustment to fair games between teams

but its difficult with many different modes to have 1 map balanced around all modes

which adds the difficulty of balancing weapons/gadgets/vehicles/spawns
