That skill mostly exists in vehicle gameplay though, most people won't play as vehicles in any given match, older BF games were weird in that aspect. Vehicle gameplay had high skill floor and skill ceiling but infantry gameplay had low skill floor and low skill ceiling(at least in 3).

Here, I'll give you a good example. I win 72% of my CQ games but when you look at my stats only 7% of my objective time is captured to defended, while 30% of yours are captured to defended. When I push a point and clear it I know a better use of my time is not standing at the square it's to advance and try and cut off the enemy team from reinforcing that spot and getting several kills.
