Besides Bad Company, there isn't much lore to Battlefield. It's usually a stand alone story, or stories like BF1 and BFV, and the focus is on gameplay and multiplayer.

BF3 maps were for both Rush and CQ, BF4 maps were genuinely terrible for Rush unless you loved a meatgrind on every route.

Vehicle gameplay was a lot better in BF4 though except for the Attack Heli being ridiculously OP.

I think BF1 had the best inf-vehicle balance. BFV had the best gunplay though - I really dislike the fixed bullet spread its really annoying on old titles aiming directly at someone and not hitting them due to RNG

I agree mostly what you said. I have done Rush in BF4 again recently, and it vary a bit. On Propaganda it works well, but on other maps like locker it's almost impossible to win as an attacker.

BF1 is great in my view. The only vehicle that was OP was the single person tank, which I love. I did see some servers ban that. The operations are still some of the most fun I ever had. It felt like a true war watching the battlelines move forward or being defended of. I know it's similar to rush, but it felt more epic and intense imo.

Unrealistic representation of statistical minorities creates an overall false image/representation of the particular force being depicted, which is jarring as the army in the game is supposed to be the grounded/set in reality anchor to help balance all the fictional and dramatic elements.

Yeah I agree, Ops Locker is only fun if all explosives are banned. But that should never be the case for a game mode to work.

BF1 is imo the best we got in the franchise with BF3. Operations should have been built upon, it was the most unique mode in the tactical FPS genre and it was just thrown away for the barebone version in BFV - really disappointing.

It should be the lead gamemode with Conquest imo! Although I did really love the OG frontlines with no timer, played for some tense matches.

You are spot on what happen with BFV. I didn't get the game until a few years after release on a sale. I wasn't up for WW2 since I was burned out form it by the early 2010s. But I wish they expanded on operations. Some of my friends hated it for how long it is, but they are the TDM or small conquest type players. I love long, epic, and close battles.

That said, I did think the BFV Pacifc DLC was great, and captured some magic from BF1.

I felt like Metro worked well in BF3, and it works well as conquest in BF4, but rush in BF4 when I played it was impossible to move forward. IDK why, but to your point it needed more routes after the first outside zone. It's just a one way crater into a killzone in Metro.

Yeah I agree. Pacific campaign would have been PERFECT for it.

Even the smaller battles like Rotterdam could have been class, they had the perfect gamemode in BF1 with imo the most immersive MP experience ever, and it was made a gimmick.

Imagine WW2 battles like Stalingrad, Berlin, D-Day even or Battle of Cologne like they wanted, it would been amazing with some background to the missions

The BF1 grind on Argonne Forest from the other map I cant remember it's name, was one of the most enjoyable gaming memories I've had with friends

nothing like grinding out the first map with your first battalion, to give you extra time on Argonne when it was a pure meatgrinder

I would love a Stalingrad operation in BFV. The battle of stalingrad in COD (1) was one of my all time favorite missions in a WW2 FPS game.

I will play devil's adovate with 2042, it felt like they wanted to try out a bunch of new stuff with how they approach classes and modeling after some hero shooters, and it just didn't work. Battlefield usually tries out new things in each iteration, and beyond the weather element, that was their big thing where you had more different types of characters and playing styles. But it wasn't fun, or worked well. We all love BF for the 4 core classes, then customizing it our way with preferred guns in that class, gadgets, etc.

My biggest disappointed in 2042 was many maps were way too big and empty at times, or not well design like the space port. Then leaving portal to rot when that had good ideas out of the gate that could have been built upon. Especially adding more BF3 and BC2 maps.

I think field heros like BF1 is fine. I liked the limited approach. Or how they handle it in Battlefront. But the entire game based on heroes wasn't well executed, and lost touch with why we love BF games.

The tornadoes and sandstorms got old fast. I like Levolution like BF4 had.

Agree on the maps. The only maps in the base game that I like was Shanghai with the port. South Korea/Seoul was good. Then Renewal with the big wall dividing the green grass area with the desert. Those felt unique, fun to me, and allowed different approaches. I hated the maps with a ship in the middle.

Would be great if BF 2025 should have some kind of boxes where you can have a chance to win more powerful variations of weapons. For example, a golden sniper has higher quick switch speed compared to a silver, bronze, and non tiered sniper. Same goes for AR, a gold tier M4 would have greater fire rate and accuracy compared to other tiers. Alternatively, there could be an option for players to purchase the weapon permnently directly with some kind of EA Coins. For example, charge $10 = 1000 coin. Charge $20 = get 2050 coins.

suppression is supposed to decrease accuracy though. Battlefield maybe dont need it to the full extent as Squad or other milsims but removing it alltogether makes it feel too arcady and you'll get flicked on even if you initated the fight

real supression is enough rounds on target to kill. it doesnt work if you can get hit 10 times and shoot back, its a balance issue

How do you use BF3 these days? Do I need to surf for an old version of Origin or something? I think I only have EA app and it's saying I'm not logged into the correct Origin account so it wants me to put in the serial, which I can easily get from the EA app, but then it says it can't connect for me to put it in.

I tried allowing BF3 and webhelper through firewall already

I still don't get why we didn't just get a PC port of the consoles' GUI

but I do understand not keeping battlelog up to date for such an old game of course

if my Origin suspicion is correct that is, or should EA app be all I need?
