tbh yeah where bf1 succeeded the most was immersion, and part of why it got all the hype is because of the general feeling surrounding shooters at that time

hardline came before it which people for the most part didn't love, and it was released at the same time as infinite warfare, which came at a time when everyone was already fed up of future shooters. Just rubbing salt in the wound at that point

i think cod now appeals more to the younger audiences even tho its an 18 rated game, lets just face it we are getting old now and theres a new wave of kids to enjoy the games they make, cod relies on ai to make new character skins and other cosmetics and as it seems takes far to much inspiration from games like fortnite
