Yeah, the logic behind 5.56 is devious. Has enough power to incapacitate someone but not out right kill them if they're shot center mass at range. The thinking behind it was to incapacitate someone so that their buddies would have to carry them out. Effectively taking multiple people out of the fight for just one guy. Then if the guy lives through the injury, the shot would render them disabled so that the country would have to take care of them outside of the war
