Remember the character appearance customization from CoD:Ghosts? where skins were unlocked by doing things in the game like 100 sniper rifle headshots for a ghillie suit or 200 shotgun kills for a bandolier of shotgun shells? What if battlefield had a similar system where you could unlock different cosmetics for each class by doing stuff as that class. Like an ammo belt across your chest for resupplying teammates, or a medical satchel for giving heals and revives, but the cosmetics are limited to the class they go with

The best way to get more players is to make a game targeted at current and long-time players. If the game is great, they’ll get their friends to buy the game too and sing its praises. And right now I’ve seen most players that have fallen off were left behind after BFV, ignoring 2042 because it had strayed too far from the BF3/BF4 standard of core Battlefield. If Battlefield goes back to BF3/BF4 with a sprinkle of new, I guarantee it will succeed much more than what we have been seeing lately with later releases.

1942 and Vietnam are both considered abandonware these days, and have a healthy # of players with a dedicated daily community, if you were interested in playing BF's OGs.

BF2 and 2142 are harder to get ahold of, but you can still plays those online too, with more people playing BF2 than 2142.

BF3 and BF4 on PC are both alive and well still.

Yes it was a step in the right direction but it didn’t limit the player to use specific weapons with operators from a class (scout with sniper, etc). I know in previous titles like bf4 you had the carbines in the scout class but the content was significantly larger also.
