I explained it by saying that they are still units whether you like it or not. This is a video game with unrealistic elements. They sacrificed realism to allow you to have more variety when choosing characters. Women fought in World War II, there is no problem with showing them doing such. If you genuinely have a problem with diversity and inclusion in games you need to do some soul searching, because it is NOT normal to be this upset over women or people of color in your video games because it's "unrealistic", even though the game series never has been hyperrealistic in any capacity. Obviously I think it could've been approached differently and it would've been more helpful if it had a codex like BF1 but it is just such a non issue that there really is no reason to complain other than "it challenges my preconceived notions about the conflict and bothers me that I can't ignore their contributions"

Teamwork in bf is always a side effect of someone trying to keep themselves alive, only a small portion of the playerbase has the awareness or desire to help teammates due to more gamesense driven reasons over just the points it provides, and relying on people who often have the situational awareness of a bread bin just detracts from the individual experience
