Anyone else in the US having issues with out of region players in BF1 on PSN? There's people with 180+ ping on the low end eating up the servers' processing and bandwith making it almost impossible to play the game properly. you dont see this logic for movies, for example. Noone is criticizing oppenheimer for not being fun enough.

I do think the best stories in games are the ones that weave their themes into the gameplay and player experience, but not every game can be Dark Souls

Games also have a different pacing that can lend themselves to other stories. They also absolutely excell at environmental storytelling.

A film can only show you whats in frame, a book can only get into so much detail before it destroys its pacing, but a game can simply show you a room in its entirety and cram that much detail in a few seconds.

Yeah, agreed. After BF1 personal expectations (and I think for the community as a whole) for next game (ww2 setting was semi-leaked) was that we're getting amazing ww2 BF built on the success of this current game, but greatly improved and it is going to make it amazing.
Sadly hype peaked at the sneak peek clip (dude with the goggles finishing off the opponent).
Then came the official reveal trailer which was only the beginning of this "brass knuckle dick punch" era for Battlefield
