what it needs is authenticity
not "historical authenticity", but authenticity from the design. Show us a game where the devs really care about creating an experience, rather than chasing trends for money or social clout or pride
it needs to be gritty
A BF3 SOLDIER ONCE SAID
THEY GOT ME PINNED IN THE A$$ OVER HERE
i need those screaming
SOUNDS
voicelines
Bf5 director said they tried to be historically accurate and it backfired
testosterone
In this age of gaming we won't get better than 50% experience 50% chasing trends
i hate the trend of micro transactions
id prefer them bringing back premium
than lootboxes
or do it like bf1
enemy mother fucking infantry right there!
5 does not have this "authenticity". It focused on shoving cosmetics into a setting where they didnt work, wasted time on modes nobody cared about like comp or coop or a br, made maps that were designed to be pretty rather than convey a tone. Its all manufactures, soulless.
the battle chatter in bf3 was excellent
we need real marines to voice this game
Thats why they hired real military veterans to help shape the games gritiness
More like make Classes have "Recognizable Silhouette/make it recognizable" again
BF1 may not have been remotely historically authentic, but god was it authentically made. Honest, fun, down to earth
source?
jackfrags the type of guy to say bf2042 was a masterpiece for 500 Dollars
Hahahahha so true
Seriously BC2-BF1 have Classes with recognizable silhouette that makes you recognize what type of classes that your ally or enemy is using, idk if they will sell skins (which is obvious that they will) but make it sure that they will still have that recognizable features/silhouette
i would bash the hell out of dice if I think their game is bad
freedom of speech
and I decide to preach
Its not even that hard to do both.
Just look at a game like team fortress
best game btw
correct
Team fortress 2 banger
bfv sort of had the silhouette too, their animations were all unique for each class
less obvious and distinct tho
i watched my brother play bf3 on his gaming pc in like 2012, my sister bought him the limited edition.
I started playing bc2 on the ps3 in like 2014
i was grinding the hell out of it
Like Medic should have a Cross Symbol in their helmets and arm patches, Support have ammo belts around their chest, Engineer having Launchers always in their back even if they don't equip one and Recons with Radios on their back
yeah youre not finding the animation difference between assaults semi auto rifles and recons semi auto rifles
Medic should have a Cross Symbol in their helmets and arm patches, Support have ammo belts around their chest
These dont cast a sillhouette well.
I still believe it was a mistake to take bc2 from the stores
That's the thing it was less obvious and distinct especially when they equip the "Elite Skin"
should have given it easy anticheat
its just how the soldier carried themselves, you could tell after you played it enough by their movement what class it was
but i would prefer the old design where you cant have elite skins lol
make this game for people over 18
Just giving an example also tbf BF3's support class have ammo around their body for the US side while the RU have huge ammo packs around their body
no pussy shittalking
dont give the playable characters names
call them engineer, support, medic, recon
I would split it into two categories: headwear and backwear. A class will either have a rucksack or no rucksack, and will either have light headwear or a helmet.
assault: helmet, no rucksack
engineer: light headwear, rucksack
support: helmet, rucksack
recon: light headwear, no rucksack
This should make each one pretty easy to spot while still allowing for flexible customization.
I have a feeling they will go back to BFV's customization where you pick a Classes and their will be a set of playable characters that you choose
dont like it tbh
bf4 was perfect
you have the base of a character
maybe jungle look maybe white maybe black
simple
this aint some model stages
i mean, that was mostly fine to me since idk what else you would call face selections. "black guy 01"?
bfv's was very close to being great, it just had a bunch of bad options in it rather than good authentic skins
But if you ask me it's a better comprise at least we're still having an actual Classes instead of the stupid Specialist system
I also have that feeling
V was an unfocused mess. Its like if you shoved BF1, BF2, and BFHeroes into a blender and created one frankengame
you are feeling for 5 hours rn
Makes the most sense skins wise
Ye
dont insult those games ..
bfv's skins right now are much better than launch. like you can make british soldiers that look like ww2 british soldiers, which you couldnt do at launch
BFHeroes was my childhood like bfp4f
I mean, 1 and 2 are pretty good games, nothing wrong with them.
bananas and ham are also both tasty but if I shoved them in a blender I would get garbage
As much as I like to and find it perfect it's just that I'm being realistic here since Premium is definitely not coming back and as usual we're using the Battle Pass system for monetization
put vanilla and banana
i hope premium comes back
just for nostalgic purposes
Not a hope in hell
i can dream
Yes we all can
It won't since the the gaming industry moved on to Battle Passes
i can at least hope, if they insist on live service, that they read the damn room and move away from the current formula
i crap on the entire industry
valve did the same ting
thing
no battle pass
tf2
?
that is doing just fine
they invented the battlepass brother
tf2 predates the battlepass and also invented lootboxes
But it has lootbox tbf? Like Cases
Like its going to be a "tremendous live service" or was that 2042
But you can't blame them for the masterpieces of tech and games they made
Left 4 Dead 2 was a major success and had no lootboxes
no custom skins
it had workshop support and did fine on its own
Valve strive off on players spending money on cases especially on CS cuz you can sell CS skins in exchange for real money
it has its own category and is leading it (fps zombie coop=
Best example is the Dragon Lore Skin
but, tf2's free updates were more refreshing. They made stuff that would add value to the game, and released it when it was ready (until they fucked it up in 2016). Tf2 wasnt trying to micromanage your time with fear or missing out and it wasnt shoving out content for the sake of a quota. Stuff was more creative
technically you could sell csgo skins for money
updating bf2042 rn just for portal. I hate the base game
l4d2 is probably nothing compared to dota 2
i get what you mean but their marketing was comepletely different
l4d2 was just a polished game which was perfect
But they were different back then
oh yeah, it's a fucking awesome game
@young saddle You saw dm?
but they're making billions
Valve today is focused on making money through Steam sales, Cases, Battlepass and more
sort of. Usually valve will invent something then the industry will twist it into something insufferable.
Like lootboxes for example. In tf2 and cs theyre tied to an economy, the scarcity of certain items translates to real value, so a trading and collecting scene can form. Then other games dont have that aspect, so its just the gambling.
they're a live serve game dev now
And I won't blame them since they earn fatload of cash
tf2, dota 2, cs2, and their new game deadlock
they already did everything
half life
deadlock's gonna be huge
was a MAJOR SUCCESS
its so fucking good dude
they made gateway drugs for mobas
Yeah and where's Half Life 3?
i havent played it but icefrog's a baller
white sands
im kind of afraid to get addicted to another Icefrog game
bro they cant count to 3
I wouldnt be suprised if Robin Walker was also on this. Development started right after jungle inferno, and the writing feels a lot like tf2 (if not a bit more serious)
And that Valve realized they'll make more money towards live service than making more games
havent played deadlock and i prolly wont
im not a fan of those games
im a tf2 enjoyer at most
it will ruin your life, its addicting
Another hero shooter with nightmare levels of shit tier balance
why does it take so long to update a game on the EA App
It is but I already moved from playing Moba since I don't wanna get hooked on playing mobas again
who programmed this dog launcher
Another hero shooter
its more like 3rd person dota than an overwatch clone
I know what it is
balance definitley needs work, bebop is a menace atm
Pretty much but the balance yeah
Least it's not as bad as when they released Monkey King in Dota 2 or the R8 revolver right?
shiv at launch
It is a bit of a shame that "hero shooter" has gained such a stigma. A lot of games either shoved a hero system where it isnt needed or tried to make shitty overwatch. But a hero system does have a lot of potential for adding crazy stuff to your game, since you have more ways to balance out items and can get really creative with how the game plays.
(not to say bf should have this, just speaking in general)
The problem is that most FPS these days as what you said trying to make a shitty overwatch clone
And we're sick of it
It was either a Hero Shooter or a Milsim
i'm definitely hesitant to get into deadlock due to that
the deeper problem is FPS games releasing that just focus on trends and mtx. Shoving a hero system is just a symptom of that.
Deadlock is boring and I don't understand it. Probably a really bad take but still
Never been into that kind of game genre except for like Ow but its not the same
It feels like 3d LoL
it's made by the guy who designed dota 2
thats pretty much it.
so its 3d dota 2
Well tbf do they really have to make it a hero shooter in order to sell skins and cosmetics?
as a shooter
its ok not everybody has to like the same stuff. but dota 2 is genius level
icefrog's a god
they see the success and hype generated by OW hero reveals, new smash characters, and the like. Its trend chasing.
havent played it and what I have heard sounds miserable.
Yeah but at the same time countless of games died because of that
With recently Concord
the game itself is brilliant. the community is the problem
its best played with a full 5 stack, and most people dont play it that way, so..
people get mad
and so the trend will die.
Granted, with marvel rivals and deadlock proving successful, I think concord just died because it was fugly and cringe
If I had a nickel for every time they release another Hero Shooter, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
Then we're fucked honestly cuz I'm sick of hero shooters being the new multiplayer that they advertise
Hell I would kill for a Multiplayer Pvp that is similar to the Last of Us Factions or a evolution to that
im sick of inauthentic games. If a game is a hero shooter, then fine, but it has to convince me that it truly wants to be a hero shooter and cares about quality.
if a new game released that felt and played like tf2 id pick it up in a heartbeat, hero shooter or not.
Here the thing I don't have problems with having Hero Shooters but if thats genre they're selling rn then it is a problem
Nah they are "heroes" pretty much I think but like 2042 into classes
Cuz it was a Class-Based through the way they structured it
tf2 clears most hero shooters im just gonna say it
Im going to be real, this is semantics that the tf2 players throw around because they dont like the association.
Tf2 is a hero shooter, and thats fine. Because the game is extremely good, and its 9 heroes are more deep than any other games on the market
at least theres no stupid ultimates
"ubercharge is ready"
"mmmmmmmmmmmmph"
"trumpet noises"
That is like an ult embedded into a normal healing mechanic
Just an ability basically
its more like a progenitor to the common ultimates
earlier in the evolutionary tree.
Ye
cool teamwork ability, not an ultimate
I guess
the entire pacing of a match usually revolves around popping uber, its not that different from an ult
🤷♂️
(once again tf2 players go into semantics because they dont like an association)
its still not the same as every hero having ultimates
This is a pointless argument xD
agreed
I've hated any moba i've ever tried, my friends are league fanatics but I couldn't care less about it, yet deadlock is fun. Strange how that works out :/
Not your argument just the discussion in general
I think a big part is that a 3rd person shooter is just more familiar and easier to get into than 1990's rts controls.
Huh nice
That's the main thing. The general process of interaction with league is dull
im not even really a tf2 player haha, i stopped a long long time ago
its just a great game and i recognize greatness
but deadlock has surprisingly dense movement with good gunfight feel
deadlock works, IMO, because it is many simple systems with a lot of depth.
Like movemet, for example. Its all fairly intuitive, you spend a stamina point to dash and most are clear off the bat. But the system invites tons of choice and tradeoffs.
even if it wasnt a moba, the combat and movement could hold its own.
no sprint button is also an interesting choice
just autosprint after no combat right?
it seems very simple and fluid
you need to buy it from the shop (unless you are playing Bebop)
so once again theres a tradeoff. You can have autosprint after combat, but it takes an item slot.
otherwise people would just click the sprint button whenever not in combat, like in BF or cod or any other game, which is just kinda boring.
And that's exactly the kind of system I want. One with choice and consequence, mechanics that require different usages in different contexts. Simple in premise but many games don't offer anything with even that much depth
"simple yet deep" is so good for games. Big reason I still play tf2, the rocket launcher alone embodies this principle perfectly
and the other tf2 aswell
People scoff at battlefield 2 for having stamina and for losing ammo when you reload, but those simple things added so much choice even when out of combat.
and, IMO, is a much more interesting skill ceiling than "click on people fast and slide"
sometimes things like that can get in the way but if the game uses it to push a certain game feel then it can definitely work
case in point, helldivers
if you panic due to large numbers and reload early you lose the mag, which trains you to maintain some level of composure amidst the chaos
it just needs to be designed with it in mind, rather than just slapping the system onto an existing game
BF1 has a lot of run with this due to the wierd reload systems on many guns.
Which reload system?
the stripper clips or the occasional wierd reload like the mg08/18 or perino
Oooh yeah
yeah that kinda stuff's neat
not necessarily a mechanic but the longer reloads can add to the overall atmopshere potentially
not just that theyre longer, but that they depend on how much you've shot.
yeye
although I will say there are some times where I just don't jive with the gameplay style such mechanics introduce, it depends a lot on the game
Its good but it is bad when it comes to the reload
like if they add the sway mechanics from tarkov into bf I'd just not have a good time, even if they make the rest of the game fit more into that style
Oh god no
I dont see a sway mechanic adding interesting choices, at least for BF
all games have inertia
Well the extent Tarkov has
(unless their movement is really undercooked)
and tarkov's is downright broken anyways
True
Inertia is mostly to prevent a-d spam
tarkov is the worst feeling game ever in terms of action fluidity, it's honestly funny at times
tarkov sucks
i think its kinda sad how traumatized the BF reddit is bruh
all posts about BF6 are negative
Another game I tried to get into but just couldn’t
Not surprised
I got addicted sadly but now I have started to play less and less
I’m not feeling over the moon about bf myself and I’m usually rather optimistic
the game that did sway best, IMO, is red orchestra 2.
In that game sway is curbed by breathing in, which is a resource to manage. Its also effected by low stamina and moralle, giving an advantage to managing both and creating some terrifying moments when moralle is low.
the sprint animation in the internat pre alpha build is not as fluid as they wanted
"ITS LITERALLY BF2042 AGAIN; BATTLEFIELD HAS FALLEN, BILLIONS MUST COD"
It’s fluid, just not of the animation style some people want
there is little reason to be excited for the next bf game.
all we know is that they wont make the same mistakes as 2042, which by no means excludes the game from bombing
Whats the animation style they want then
theyre placeholder animations for an AI tech demo
"its too call of duty" okay and? infinity ward's animation style is just good, blame MW19 for raising the standard
im saying that
It’s not something that can be easily described, but I’m just saying it’s fluid, but just doesn’t look right
we dont even know if those are BF6 guns. The characters were generated as part of the demo and arent from the next bf. Its a frostbite demo
Yeah but the animations look pretty realistic
But yeah it’s a test so it shouldn’t be taken to literally
my point is: complaining about the animations for what is likely engine footage with possible game assets for a game that is like 14 months away is unseriously silly
that said
Heck, nothing we say from the EA play show ever actually ended up existing
the shotgun's firing animations is the same as 2042's MCS 880 if im not mistaken
BF players will only get hyped when the beta is in their goddamn hands
I am going to get hyped by just a teaser
for good reason
I think we're good in being skeptical until the game is in our hands
Or when a flashy trailer drops
but being overly negative is silly
unlike cod where its stuck on a very unhealthy cycle
Yuh. Be skeptical, look forward to new insights, but we will only be certain once we get to properly observe and play the game
CoD is just brainrot at this point
I think we have information to be cautiously optimistic now, but i'd still keep distance
granted so far we have heard:
Leho left due to creative issues
"Its a tremendous live service"
Possibly has a BR
And a bunch of concept art that is looking increasingly like ai
Keep in mind tho, EA/DICE are being super open about the game by releasing the community program early next year
They wouldn't do that if its trash
i agreee with all of these
They would make it quiet like 2042 up until release
that said, "tremendous live service" is corpospeak
It looks like AI but the one from IGN is a real city
So weird for them to make it AI
That’s a point. It speaks to a much more positive development cycle
i do think cod does a decent job at seasonal content and so could dice, but... yeah
the 2042 alpha being NDA'd should have been the first red flag in retrospect. If we can watch the early program then its a good sign
True xD
tbf most alpha's are NDA
Playtesting and shit like that is probably NDA so lets see if its NDA with the community program
rarely is AI art done purely with a prompt. Prompts arent specific enough. Usually you give it a sample image and iterate over time.
This makes a lot of sense for concept art, to be fair. The main point is to quickly try out aesthetics, so stuff like AI artifacts arent much of a problem.
I feel like rn we've heard enough things to be optimistic yet cautious, cause last game was traumatic and we do have some causes for concern
Fair enough
my issue is that all the "good news" is stuff like "we wont try to make it a hero shooter again" and "there is a scoreboard", which isnt exactly a high bar
But I will still be hyped until I get disappointed with having pre ordered a bad game
"There is a scoreboard" HAHAHAH. I still cannot believe there wasn't one in 2042
i do think the "battlefield universe" and battle royale thing are the biggest red flags i see, cause it points to a CoD HQ and Warzone type thing, and that backfired so badly that they're undoing all of that right now and that is why warzone has barely gotten content in a year, cause building one base game and making things from that just breaks everything
Kind of a negative take
At least BF is not a yearly release, but my god the navigation through the CoD HQ is beyond fucking horrible
it is
"battlefield universe"
This one is really wierd because noone really cares about the BF canon. Theres like 3-4 seperate canons and they tend to contradict themselves, and have poor worldbuilding
I don't think its going to be anything like CoD
Battlefield already has a cod hq type system in its UI and has had it since hardline.
i honestly think they're rebooting all narratives and making a new story from where to continue the narrative
thats the "bf universe"
Well not to the extent like CoD. And if they did something like the HQ thing. It would probably be better
bring back the Battlefield 2 canon where Russia is allied with the west and Saudi Arabia invades Pennsylvania.
Peak
Yeah bring back the BF2 cannon
wasn't something said about "NATO vs PMCs" thing
That didn't work
tom henderson leak
TBH, NATO vs a PMC is a more plausible scenario than most BF games
they could build a banger campaign from it
I mean yeah but US vs RU isn't not plausible
mfw shadow company in battlefield............
Its not plausible because they would glass eachother in a few hours
Oh in that way yeah
Maybe if they made a grim scenario where the war lasts a week it could work, but the war in Iran from BF3 is just silly.
Especially since a fucking nuke goes off in france, NATO blames russia, but somehow doesnt respond with a nuclear strike
BF campaigns are..... yeah not very good
Who?
bf is good at a lot of things, writing is not one of them
Shadow company from CoD
Oh I’ve got no idea who they are
Or BF4 where China invades the entirety of Asia, including their allies in North Korea, for.... reasons
and whoever made bad company as good as it was is long gone
a stand in for blackwater i think
Because they are the "shadow" company
Shadow company is the squad from modern warfare iirc
Oh wait no its this
Shadow Company is a private military company led by General Shepherd that betrays Task Force 141 in the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
the pmc used by a US general to do war crimes basically
"The aim is currently for 45 different weapons on launch, double that of what Battlefield 2042’s core multiplayer experience launched with."
Sounds pretty good
where is this?
where was that said
i'd say 45 weapons is a decent amount
still less than BF4 so someone's gonna complain
True but rather less weapons if they are better quality etc
no, you see, we need 16 assault rifles with 30 round mags that fire 556 on a sliding scale of bloom to fire rate.
Look dm
granted thats part of their weapon trees system right?
The post was linked but don't wanna link it incase its bannable
it was hit or miss, the M4 (AR15) platform had solid variety but then the remingto 700 platform was basically just 3 versions of the same gun
including Gibraltar (as seen in the game’s first released concept art) and the USA
hmm?
between 2027 and 2030
fucking cook?
thats pretty standard for modern BF, its always a few years off
Kinda dissapointed its a worldwide setting. I liked how 3 and 4 were a grounded conflict in one place, and it means maps will take longer to make
BF4 was based in 2020 and it was China's fault in the story
Thats some weird coincidence
It's a good setting
how the hell are they going to explain a war in the Untied States?
Untied states???
Wait there’s more info?
Henderson mentioned maps in the USA
Alright
Ah, course it’s Henderson
I was stating the word Untied
The game will be set in various locations worldwide, including Gibraltar (as seen in the game’s first released concept art) and the USA, which is also believed to be the setting for the Battle Royale experience (tropical location).
Ok maybe its Hawaii
yeah the untied states of armenia
inb4 its orbital
it would be unironically funny
my hot take is that i enjoyed orbital, renewal and manifest from 2042
manifest 🤮
the rest are... uh not good to play but those 3 were fun
complete misuse of verticality
Ye like BF4
tbh to me its less about how many maps are there, but how they play
if you have 5 maps and all 5 are fun to play, are visually attractive, thats enough
Yeah but take into account how Vince talked about the maps
and the variety of them.
If theyre as copy and paste as BFV then it will be stale
hopefully
the bigger bottleneck on map design is usually art rather than gameplay.
I mean by now they know how bad the 2042 maps were because they remade them a bit so they were atleast playable
I actually fully believe hourglass was made for a cinematic trailer and thats it
xD true. The gameplay trailer too
hourglass is like Sinai desert but they forgot that the desert was just there for G point
soldiers coming out of the dunes and running into the city is badass as hell for an action sequence, gameplay wise though? lmao get sniped
Ye
Should the next battlefield have a map equivalent to siege of Shanghai where you can collapse an entire building
Vince Zampella said they are looking into what made bf3/4 great
(it will die on arrival)
I bet they can make another good BR
I hope that, at least, the BR map plays into conquest somehow
The former warzone lead is responsible for that
It kind of did in BFV
There were points you could capture to get nice weapons and gear
45 Weapons is enough and those who disagree and liked the 22 weapons at launch during 2042 can get out
Is absurd that some defended it
Before it was launch
Most AAA Multiplayer shooter that I know of have 30+ weapons at launch
Or at the very least is more than 22
Fun fact: battlefield 2 had more guns
I mean more in the sense of there being a conquest cutout on the BR map or something. Something to make it more integrated with the game as a whole
Aah
Hell BF1 had small amounts of weapons but due to the Variants it was doubled
BF1 had 48 weapons not including variants
Launch?
Yes
For whatever reason, half of BF1's weapons are pistols
Aren't they 35?
BF1 had 6 primaries per class, 6 all class pistols, 12 class specific pistols, and the tanker weapons
Nah I still did not get it but I will someday
so 6x8 = 48
The amount of EE that I have to do but at least you can do it solo unlike BF4
I wanted to the Phantom Program EE
tbh I almost suspect BF1 had pistols as a primary weapon at some point in its development. Thats the only reason I can see to make so many secondaries
But I play solo
Ye, I got it it was pretty easy when there was a dedicated server for it to help others
But the DICE LA camo is pretty easy to get
And the normal DICE
Yeah cuz it kinda made sense also since carbines during that time were just Pistols with stocks
No, carbines were usually shortened bolt action rifles. BF1, for whatever reason, doesnt include these as a weapon type (and when it does its often on a weapon that had no carbine variant).
Pistol carbines were their own thing and mostly a germany thing
I see ig DICE went with the german thing
dice was very gameplay-first with weapon choices. Pistol carbines in BF1 exist to be better pistols for classes who werent designed for combat, not much more.
then they gave them to assault and support so you could farm service stars without greifing.
Speaking about the recent rumors/info it seems that the next BF have caliber based destruction
Yep. Sounds nice
does this mean caliber based damage, I wonder
Iirc didn't BF4's 50 Cal lets you rip enemies behind the walls?
yeah but thats a pickup kit.
What is more interesting is if any full powered cartridge weapon can rip holes in walls. That presents interesting balance questions
Basically a SMG will make pinholes while Shotguns and a 50 cal destroys the wall
Or rather penetrate it
There's a mixed conquest server with about seven out of twenty to fill out. Anyone want to help us? Server number is; #24626753 on PSN.
shotguns not gonna tear a hole in concrete.
On concrete yes but on drywall or wooden walls it is
My question though, is what about MMGs and Battle rifles? Shotguns are niche, 50 cal is a pickup kit usually, but something like a G3 could be tricky to balance if it can rip through walls and an m4 cant
Welp we just have to wait and see
I just got in
I hate that these aren't the usual populated Playlist in bf1 lol I don't get why
ah i gotta reinstall BF1
where can i apply for the big playtest? (:
what playtest ?
well ^^ there said they will do a playtest early next year
yea^^
of the new game ? no way its open now
Cte. It’s a community test environment to give feedback before live game or update to the live game.

yes the new one and yea its not open yet 😄
Sorry man, 12/20 was pretty close but we all had to do stuff
Early next year they said by zampella and EA investor vid
yea you wouldnt be able to sign up now
Maybe spring/summer time when they release it
They said it will. It’s confirmed
legit im reinstalling Battlefield 1 on my Xbox
They wanna be close to the community much as possible. Hence why they took over this server again after years now.
smh
They also have X, Reddit, forums, This server. Now they will have cte again
judging from the two concept arts, it looks to be in the style of bad company or BF3-esque
Hell, maybe we'll finally get bad Company 3
BC3 wouldnt top bc2
I believe too much politics is involved and would make it worse
I mean BC2 can lead to BF3. So it kinda make sense in a way. Due to timeline.
But I doubt they will ever go back to BC story to began with. BF3/4 have a great story to work with. Especially since 2042 takes place years after BF4
I wonder if they want to fill in the gap between BF4 and 2042. It makes since if they are doing that
Fuck specialist
Bring back generic soldiers
Exactly
And bring back better voice acting
Bring back the
Chill guys specialists are gone
Bring back the
SOMEBODY GET ME OUT OF HERE
bring back the
DAMN, MAN DOWN
yes I know
I need this stuff
And chill again the hired military vets for develpping this game
For that gritty realism
Badass marines on full testosterone
And bring back classic revive
Entering hell
2042 revive is shit
Medic should be assault again
What's your favorite death cam?
Damn
?
Clef half of my apartment still has no electricity
Im glad PC PSU's are immune to that and dont get damaged
Gn
is there anyone here that can help?
I'm trying to get on the # Stream-and-videos, but there seams to be no way to join and be able to add my clips/videos/steams. does anyone know what I can do?
I hope they call it Battlefield 6
I like it more than 5
dont like the whole reboot ahh name stuff like just "Battlefield" or "Call of Duty"
having a secondary name (Bad Company, Hardline, etc) to it or a number (3, 4, 1 , 2042) is just better
At least it's not worse
In 5, you're first person
In 2042, third person
Sucks balls
Quick but not as op as 1 at the same time
Why
Why??
I meant the reviving itself not revive wait
Because third person's sucks
do you think they will give 2042 an offline mode? sounds ridiculous to say but I mean it does have an AI mode
Being downed in 2042 is lame
Third person doesn't belong in FPS games like Battlefield or Call of Duty imo
It does have bots. But it sucks ass
they are FPS games for a reason
Idk good to look around and + idc tbh i just didnt like the reviving in 5
Such a minor thing lol i never look at the screenn when im downed anyway
true ngl
It's the details man
I usually just hope someone revives me
THE DETAILS
No one will genuinely care
I rarely stop my bleeding
“refunding game has third person death screen”
Lol
💀
what I do hate though is people who are medic THAT DONT REVIVE
If they want me back, someone gotta be quick
I just played 42 i was surprised by how easy it is compared to older titles
Since I stopped playing 2042 recently
im a casual gamer by the way so dont expect thousands of hours from me lol
Idk my girlfriend plays it mostly ive maybe played 5 games in it
In other case, I'm excited for bf4 WR
Yep me too
Just tired
Thry make shitty bf1 players look like gods in comparison
Stadium was so bad I just couldn't be bothered with the game anymore
Oh the joys of no map selection
I wish man
I hate the whole playlist thing where I cant choose the map, I dont like Raven or Stadium
they are terrible maps
I didnt even pay attention that theres no map vote tbh
But ive also never played the maps so i didnt really know about them anyway
It’s worse that the system to be able to choose a map already exists in game, just not for multiplayer
Actually playing a map I like is a good first incentive for me to keep playing
So sad
probably gonna play Battlefield 1 in the lead up to Battlefield 6
You're only playing half of the game content
Lol its practically the only game ive been playing for past 4
dont blame you
any other Battlefield game but 2042 for me
I would even play Battlefield 5
You on PC?
yep
Are you excited for WR
Insert WR advert
EA should really do a Battlefield collection with offline play
that could sell a lot
Hahaha doubts
I know its EA, I keep my expectations in check
Why do you think I play bf3 with VU
Overhaul in destructions
It's the only bf I play consistently
when they said community feedback or some shit
did they mean we get to playtest the game with them next year?
or was that just them referring to how internal development is going
We honestly have no clue
It could be the regular battlefield playtests, it could be an NDA’d closed alpha of sorts, a public access branch, it’s all up in the air
"the game would have caliber-based destruction, akin to Rainbow 6 Siege, with different calibers causing different amounts of destruction. It’s also understood that the game will see some changes to movement, with one example given by multiple sources the ability to pick up and move downed players. While this has almost certainly been incorporated for the Battle Royale experience, it’s been implied that this is all of the changes and is a part of the team’s “Battlefield moments” initiative to bring back the moments that made Battlefield… well… Battlefield."
Rainbow Six Siege is probably not a good comparison as its destruction is still rather limited
but I see what the author was trying to say
It’s just talking about one specific element
And the games reputation is tarnished
So sad
I’m still not taking those articles as 100% fact though
Siege in the beginning was fine
As it grew older, it becomes shit
right but Siege released before Ubisoft's downfall to be fair
like Ubisoft was just getting worse
"Insider Gaming understands that the game will take place somewhere between 2027 and 2030, with the campaign focused on a massive private military going up against NATO. The game will be set in various locations worldwide, including Gibraltar (as seen in the game’s first released concept art) and the USA, which is also believed to be the setting for the Battle Royale experience (tropical location)."
Picking up downed players though is an interesting idea
Siege doesn't deserve the Tom Clency's branding anymore
ya know before someone says "2027 is futuristic", get ready to remind them we are in the 2020s now 💀
its crazy though
2025 is modern now
Battle royale is not interesting, they tried it and it failed
I never mentioned battle royale
The pmc part reminds me of advanced warfare
I wonder if they will retcon 2042 since its apparently part of the Battlefield 4 timeline, like its a continuation of that
so if BF6 takes place in 2027 - 2030, I wonder if they will consider it a prequel to the events of 2042 or just no longer consider the events of 2042 canon
sounds cool and all but what kind of pmc is gonna stand a chance against nato in the US
bf timeline is poorly maintained and people generally dont care
probably just a reboot
I mean true I dont really care either lol
They could start a new one and I’d not notice
I just care about hopping on conquest and doing what I always do
It will just be a war, it wont lead into 2042 and the invasion of china wont play a part
capturing zones and killing people who get in my way
I just dont work want this to always be conquest
other modes are irrelevant to me
I'm tired of conquest
Time has changed
it hasnt
I wouldnt mind if other large scale, open modes were mixed in.
I wish carrier suppremacy was able to be shuffled into the conquest rotation
people still play Conquest
Yeah conquest hasnt been dethroned
Try and stop me, why don't you?
you playing the wrong game
TDM is my most played mode in bfV by far
but I dont mind it being an option ya know, you do you
Deathmatch is nice if I want to just fuck around with a specific gun.
Its the myriad of random 12v12 objective modes that are useless
I do mine
I want my aerial supremacy and dogfight modes back
The infantry mechanics are good enough to make it fun anyways. But it’s not a replacement by any means
yeah exactly.
tank only mode would also be great
Bring back obliteration, bomb, and those obscure modes in hardline
Bring back naval combat like paracel Strom, it was one of the peak battlefield moments
Battlefield is mainly just Conquest
Its also why Battlefront was mainly centered around it too
Other modes are cool too and I dont mind other options if it makes others happy but as some have said its by no means a replacement and never will be
Add something equivalent to metro
heligoland bight remains one of, if not the most "battlefield" of bf maps in modern bf games
Just make the game for conquest or breakthrough and put tdm on the side and I’ll be happy. As long as the infantry systems are fun enough
A big ass problem in old BF
Black ops 2 was set in 2025
well yea, that's how every Battlefield game is and will be
However
and released in 2012
I don't like how they handle minor modes in 2042
Sequel to that is coming next year too
There are a lot of people hate that map for some reason
oh yea 2042 handled them horribly
another failure of 2042
Honestly
Fuck your limited time event shity
Don't think 2042 has enough players to have all of them active though
Why not make them permanent
They abandoned portal and hazard zone
Dickheads
If those modes werent limited time theyd die and clef would cry that noone wants to play them
true ngl
I only ever play conquest
even when there are LTM
I just play Conquest
I want variety
Do you understand me?
same
I dont even acknowledge the existence of other modes lmao
you want gimmicks
I can sort of see the reasoning, focus players in specific modes so if one comes along that you like then there’s a higher chance for it to be populated, but the alternative is that the population would be so incredibly split that it would be hard to find games
One obvious solution to populating them: fucken AI bots
The downtime between fun modes is annoying, but at least I know I’ll be able to find air sup matches when it’s around
maybe breakthrough, but thats usually it
conquest/breakthrough just do vehicles and infantry together the best so everyone plays that
yea, I know this because I am the typical Battlefield player lol
Do you also play the same mode and map pool in other shooter games??
thing is that the gimmick modes dont even add much variety. its always the same maps and often they have less stuff available. You can have a million small modes with different shaped objectives but it wont compare to opening up a conquest map and going "yeah go nuts do whatever you want"
yes
but it's easier to do variety when you only have to worry about infantry
Bomb Defusal in counter strike
That's the fun part in cod
I dont care about those modes lol
I just care about the ones that give me the most dopamine
im a casual gamer
You really are a basic b
Deadlock has given a fuckload of replay value and not only is there only one mode, but theres only one map
oh yea I play that too

Fly plane, brain happy, log off, peak battlefield
but you didnt play capture the flag or chain link. You must be bored!
for me its
infantry or tank, conquer zone, kill people, im happy, log off, peak Battlefield
load bfv, fly plane for 20 seconds, eat a fliegerfaust, cry a little, go to bed
I do enjoy other modes, but not the super niche stuff
I usually only care for a few modes in the games I play
What do you mean you don't like squad rush

I think a mode needs a purpose beyond "we swapped out the objective for X" in order to stick around.
sorry didnt mean to reply
anything outside of TDM and Kill Confirmed to me isn't Call of Duty, because I dont play those other modes
CoD to me is a TDM game
anything that's not Conquest or Breakthrough to me isn't Battlefield, because I don't play any other mode outside of those in Battlefield
Defuse mode in 4
I dont have the time to learn bomb mode tbh
also I hate modes where you cant respawn
BR is the worst one
like people only play BR cus they bought cosmetics lol
I can understand fortnite
it looks cool
I mean I played a lot of Fortnite myself
its a BR game
but yea it has Save the World
Well, is it boring as BF V coop mode
It’s zombie building game, nuff said
It’s progression systems were absolute rubbish though
no they'll still find a way lol
I wish I could delete CoD HQ
Can’t believe the mw3 beta was 90 GB. That’s insanity
Thank God mw19 wasn't bundled with HQ
50GB was CoD HQ, 40GB was MW3 Beta
I hate brs but even if I did, the warzone download size is an instant turn away
game sizes are bloated because of live service. The majority of it is high definition skin textures that are paywalled
remember when GTA 5 was 40GB, I do back in 2013
how tf did it get so huge lmao
now its 100GB
All those bloated content
GTA Online and its consequences
obviously
Lolno
Same thing for red dead redemption multiplayer
I don’t really see the appeal in gta multiplayer
insane that something like warframe still manages to stay around 40gb
What
I mean same here
Surprise danielOnComputer Jumpscare
I just play GTA to drive around, kill people and enjoy the open world
I still like dogfights every once in a while there
that's about it
And also
Can I just say
Playing as NPC models> over custom player
Let's agree?
tries to play GTA Online
gets killed by a hacker spawning a million trains in the air
IP gets leaked
ahhhh the GTA Online experience
And you can't get that in GTA 4
It's always calm and friendly
load up gta online, fly plane for 20 seconds, eat explosive sniper bullet, get messaged IP, go to bed, peak gta
Jumps on GTA 4 multiplayer
yea haha
Boooh
Now that's generous
Imagine Red Dead Redemption 2: Undead Nightmare Multiplayer
Dare I say peak online mode lmao
if it existed
Sucks it's only limited to survival
that would be cool
No other mission modes, like defending your town from zombies
Undead multiplayer was a big missed opportunity
Battlefield 6 needs to have some insane leveloution though
As long as it’s not just annoying to play post - event though haha
people keep saying this kind of stuff but I never really understood it, does this kind of thing really make a difference in whether a bf game is any good?
it's a cool gimmick and all but why is it brought up all the time?
eh not really
but its fun though
its kind of a thing to ask for in the franchise
it can be really fun
it has been used quite a lot in previous Battlefield games so I would say its important
like the ability to kill people in a building by just blowing it up with your tank
Mostly cause it was one of the defining differences between bf and other shooters, turned up to the max. People want it to feel unique so naturally they want to push the destruction side as much as possible.
Good micro destruction is fun, and not having it would feel wrong, but I’m personally indifferent on how big said destruction is
I am largely apathetic to BF destruction
i've had a lotta fun on BF4 playing Lockers cause the infantry gameplay is just fun.
Same here. I’ve had some moments where I use it to open up angles onto someone in a building, but it’s not necessarily a core principle for me
Not fun when people are sweating heavily
And playing the same old shit....
You get my point
Battlefield 4 just gets ruined by Badmins
And bad servers
EA should be the ones entirely in control of those servers
Now you understand why WR is important to the game?
what you consider sweating, i consider playing against decent people, and i'd rather play with and against decent people as opposed to dipshits with shotguns.
I need this
"dipshits with shotguns"
dont face me in Call of Duty
I'm just saying
already ahead of you, i've not played a cod game in years.
in terms of BF though
I never play shotgun
actually dont see a point in using a shotgun in BF
that's probably because I play Large Conquest where shotguns dont do much
being annoying mainly
No shit
that's the only reason people do that
I once used a bow
I generally played servers that banned 'em.
game.itself has broken game weapon
Hence why
Again...
WR promised to fix all of them
I dont think any weapon should be banned
I'm confident there'll be no bans
but people who sweat should just get a life
like enjoy some nature at least lol
what if someone has a life, but they're just better than you.
games are meant to be played casually for the most part, the competitive nature is there sure but there is modes for that or should be modes for that
there's defo people who are casual like me who are better
I also hate esport comp games
yes but you'd consider those people as sweaters.
They suck assn
im just referring to those who are like max level in a FPS game in like a week with all the guns unlocked
nope
I know what a sweat actually is
because anyone that is generally better than you would fall under the umbrella of sweaters in the moment
its someone who literally only plays the game
not really, that's how you are defining it for yourself
that's not how I define it
anybody better than me is a sweat and anyone worse than me is garbage, simple enough method
Fun for me comes from mastery of mechanics and strategy, playing without any care just feels aimless to me
That is genuinely how people talk about it though.
AK12
Meta
a sweat is someone who literally plays the game non-stop and looks for the best meta there is, they do the exact same routes, heck probably even know some glitches, etc
man you've not played BF4.
its very fun watching a guy who hates multiplayer talk about battlefield in a battlefield chat
its kinda novel
not me I hope, I love multiplayer lmaooooo
Knowing them is good information to have.
not you no
I'm not gonna spam mortar and ucav in every map and situations
but for the most part
I have an enjoyable experience in every Battlefield match I play
even the ones where my KD gets so fucked
like I can go K: 9 D: 40 at times
it happens
because I just do the most random fun shit cus I love it
like trying to run up behind a tank to plant a C4, that's got me killed a bunch of times lmao
...I mean i don't get the mentality, because i don't get the appeal of doing literally nothing
but you're not helping.
I am
you're dying more than you're doing anything.
im dying... cus they are better than me lol
you're losing tickets without doing anything to help the objective actually.
again, you are coming at this from a competitive angle
I really dont care about all that lol
how is this helping
dying a bunch to a tank is not helping.
everyone on my team I believe is all trying their best
regardless of how they go about it
You do you, but winning is fun for many and a goal to strive for
fun is an enigma to some people on this server @digital notch
When you spot one bloke that camps with a tank or truck
You know something is wrong with them
because you are a sweat i guess, I geniuenly dont care
just play the game
and enjoy
no one really cares if you lose lol
its not like you lost the World Cup or something
^^^
its actually embarassing if you get worked up over a battlefield match
nobody gives a fuck
again, I think people get the wrong idea if they are seriously playing this game competitively
this isnt CS lol
we just have fun
in Battlefield
It's a casual arcade war simulator
