There's more issues in BF2042 than even BFV because at least with that game the developers were able to somewhat salvage the multiplayer functionality.

Journey is technically impressive because it actually works without crashing or lagging every two seconds. That's a weak argument if you can even call it that because the main selling point of Battlefield is a hi-tech experience with multiple complex mechanics advertised and what's delivered is basically cod and overwatch with tanks and some aircraft. Star Citizen's been doing that for years along with plenty of other MMOs. 2042 isn't the first to implement high playercounts like that. If anything, the fact it took them this long to get around to it is more of a talking point. And if you say yourself it plays bad overall to most people then you're an outlier. I'm part of the majority. And instead of trying to tear me down to make a point every time you post, why not just make a counter argument and back it with actual fact instead of what you think to be true. mmorpg player count is not the same as an fps games player count.. especially large player counts in small areas. mmorpgs games struggle with 100 people in a small area as well, but it doesnt matter as much because youre not concerned with aim and the feeling of a game like you are with an fps (this was the biggest problem with 2042s launch with too many people in an area bogging down the server and making it feel/perform bad). like this is a prime example of the bs you say that i point out. it has nothing to do with the games themselves, its the complete lack of logic.

It's lazy coding, really. I miss when videogames weren't released until they were ready and actually worked. hell, CoD 3 from 2006 can handle 24 player multiplayer on the XB360 just fine. But the quality didn't carry over to the 8th and 9th generation now.

It's not because 128 is difficult, it's still doable, the developers were forced with unrealistic deadlines because EA only cares about their stockholders and not the playerbase of the games they own.

The plus system was made because you were originally going to have to pick up attachments and it made it easier to swap them.

The vehicle call-in system was made because you weren't going to be able to directly spawn into tanks like you would in other BFs.

Though, a good amount of this is speculation based on pieces of info we've gotten so you can choose whether or not to believe it

Generally BF doesnt use trees for cover anyway unless they are super thick. Theyre so thin that theres too many angles to get around the cover so a plane of trees is effectively an open field. I think thats why forest maps tend to be heavily lane based with most trees on the outskirts like argonne

you never see a wide forest like you would find in Hell Let Loose, for example
