No, like seriously, it was actually DLC, the whole plan for it was to be MW2 DLC, like that's not even an insult thrown at it, its a factual statement about its development, it was intended to be DLC but then Activision wanted a CoD in 2023 so they turned it into a game, I do enjoy MW3's MP I won't even lie there but it is defo DLC

if you ask me though, MW2 and MW3 are just MW19 DLC, I seriously don't see anything that different that makes them stand on their own but that's just how I see it

No I understand where you’re coming from, I even agree again that it could’ve been more fleshed out. I don’t agree that MW2 was DLC though, and IMO the only thing all 3 really have in common is theme, they have a lot of their own things going for each game and to a limited degree the way I see it is like referring to the old MW trilogy as DLC for CoD4. just played a round of bfv, the map balance is so bad on like 9/10 of their maps that have been released since battlefield 3

i am not sure about 2042 haven't played it enough

the pacific maps outside of one of them is just getting farmed by tanks up on hills

I guess they expect you to use a ton of smoke, but I dont' think smoke should rectify their poor map design

every map should be designed with the template of arras in mind, or caspian border, or strike at karkand

both infantry and vehicles are balanced in those maps

The maps with the biggest balance issues are Al Marj & Underground. On Xbox you can switch teams but a lot won’t do it as prefer an easy game farming kills

I’d say it’s very different, for example specialists as far as their gameplay implications go causes a lot of situations and just generally have design quirks that wouldn’t work at all or would be done very different in past games. Excluding fan favorite features affects a large array of things from just general QoL to what you can do in game, that’s not to say its supposed to be entirely unenjoyable but most players don’t like the effects of 2042s design

What’s the same is really just the absolute core that dice is trying to achieve with every BF game but the other stuff about balance and design really does change how well that experience plays. At least that’s my thoughts, I don’t want you to think I’m coming at you for this
