hey so I've been having a lot of fun with bf1 recently and am interested in picking up 4 and maybe 5 next time they're on sale, reviews mention a lot of cheaters and such, how bad is the situation on community servers because 1 has the same complaints when it isn't a problem at all in my experience

BF4 doesn't have a cheating problem mostly because BF4DB and Battlefield Agency exist, but you will run into a lot of people that are just very good at the game.

BFV is fucked. I don't recommend it. Community servers barely exist, and official servers are just as bad as BF1.

Visual recoil makes sense considering a lot of the maps in BF1 are designed after actual battles, so they’re largely open

And sweet spot which isn’t amazing, I don’t really care for it or it’s inclusion

It’s fun when it works for you but is generally not any other time

Nevermind the various other problems BF1 had besides player movement, gas and fire grenades going through walls and floors, bayonets being inconsistent and very much not fun to fight against due to being locked into a victim animation when someone happens to get close enough to you, preventing you from killing them, Sweet Spot on the Scout class, The changes to how scoring in Domination and Conquest work, Behemoths and Elite Classes existing, visual recoil as well as sight sway existing(BF1 Incursions removed the latter.). Not being able to cancel your actions, so if you accidentally put on your gas mask, or you're forced to when you spawn near friendly gas, you have to wait for the full animation to happen rather than being able to cancel that action somehow.

Behemoths, elite classes, dom/conquest point scoring all make sense though, IMO

As I said before. There’s more incentive to be active in Conquest if the enemy team still scores points, and makes turnaround games easier and decreases the chance for complete stomp games

Behemoths and elites I honestly wouldn’t have minded being Operations only, but elites were always bayonet charge to kill and aren’t hard to sneak up on, and behemoths become gigantic bullet sponges

I mean they literally all have massive icons on the map anyways

I don't see the logic, if the enemy team with a score advantage still scores, that increases the chance of them winning even if they lose majority later on in the match. It rarely allows for comebacks, just makes matches seem closer than they actually were.

That is only one element of BFV (and I for one think it makes more sense for medics to have SMGs than semi-automatic rifles like in BF1). BFV also had the attrition system and squad revives - both great for encouraging team-play. The movement and gunplay is great, not to mention awesome support actions (you can literally kill half the enemy team with a V1).
