doesnt depend on anything, you can play any gun on any mode on any map, some will be more meta but everything kills in bf games

It's literally what it says. It brightens up character models to make them more visible, even in dark areas. It's also used in previous Battlefield games.

With character lighting on, I rarely have issues spotting enemies. And if I do, it's usually because they rightfully hid themselves well in the bushes.
