The new generation of BF gamer did take to them, however. It sort of snowballed with BFV, with resentment heavily towards the end when the eastern front never happened.

As for Hardline, I don't think it was that bad of a game, just unfairly hated on due to the change in theme. I don't consider it to be part of the problem partly because the game is fine, and also the fact that DICE didn't even make that one, it was Visceral. And Visceral's dead.

And I will say, I 100% know about the frustration you’re talking about, but I also know that as I got better and better with the game, I got better at timing that exit. And yes it wasn’t flawless, I still died exiting tanks every so often, but it happened much less frequently and I could usually tell when I’d waited too long

Nah, BF1 needed other things changed, like removing suppression, but having random bullet deviation is a fine balancing mechanic. I think it should've been toned down for the Medic SLR's, but that's just me. Having bullet tracers in first person would've been nice too.

As far as i can tell sliding used to be a lot more effective before it got nerfed, like you can actually slide out of corners effectively and dodge fire with it. And then it got nerfed to make it so there's a cooldown if you slide and then slide again. Not a totally unwarranted change, and probably would've been fine if they'd just left it there.

But then they nerfed it again into what it is now.

It is useless. I've talked to people who've played BF1 that didn't even know it was a thing, it's that worthless.

BFV was a bit silly with all the sliding, out of all I died most to medics in most matches, and because of that I learned to just stay away from CQC engagements unless I wanted to play like them

LMGs do not kill in a single bullet.

And have limited range.

And they require you to lay in a single spot.

Sniper kills you in a single shot. Can do it from across the map. And can always be on the move because they can quickscope and still drop you in a single shot.

They do have no recoil or spread when using the bipod and even if they miss they cause suppression which makes you unable to hit them even if you can aim.
