To whoever EA employee might be reading this, I have now refunded Battlefield 4 after 2h of trying to get it to run without success and no fixes besides reinstalling windows remaining. A DLL file was missing and installing the C++ redists both from the game files and the microsoft page didnt help, various other suggested online fixes didn't help either. I was very excited to finally play this cool game with a friend and very much looking forward to it, but now all I have is crushed hopes, 0 gameplay and 2 hours of my lifetime wasted on trying to fix the install. I already felt a little down today but I thought Battlefield 4 could give me some fun. I am just sad now. 😦

Practice & repetition is what you need along with friends you can squad up with regularly. Try different classes/guns then stick to a handful of setups (usually changing dependant on map or scenario). Don’t be too tentative, keep moving purposefully, flanking is the best away to attack (easier to kill people when shooting at their backs!).
 
Move with squad, play your role whether by healing, resupplying, spotting etc. Don’t run blindly in for revives, scope the area and kill nearby enemy first. usually changing dependant on map or scenario).
 
In settings you can increase your FoV, turn off music/effects etc - this will help you see/hear enemies and focus.

id be willing to bet if it was released by a different studio and not named battlefield it would have been a lot better received

its open loadout with specialists now, previous titles were just locked loadouts

thats personal preference though (i prefer locked loadouts), the problem is that theres a bunch of little examples like that where you questions the game design, individually its not a big deal at all, but the sum is pretty big

If you can find a Cape Helles match, get onto the defending side and hope that you’re in the first 1 or 2 phases. Just shoot the landing boats that people crash onto the shore, they don’t even need to have people in them. Also make sure other people don’t get rid of em before you. Basically any map with landing boats should do though.
