in The Finals ranked mode you start with eight teams (two four team matches in parallel), that goes to four teams (one four team match) after the end of the first rounds and then finally to a two team final round.

in Gauntlet the game starts with 32 players (eight squads) and they fight every round with a different type of objective aka in a different game mode.

there's a set of modes the game launched with (they probably will be expanded) and those modes get randomly selected every game.

every game plays completely different because of that.

#

the random modes every new round is what makes it different to The Finals.

and also that there are no games that run in parallel, if I remember correctly. that means at the start eight squads play in one round against each other.

Peak BF for me as PTFO is more important than hunting kills. Playing with a squad working together is fun and playing against multiple other competent squads has been some dope competition. I've had a bunch of "fun losses" and that's a rare air for me.

Imagine, gauntlet without HUD at all, nothing. Adapted/worked by the devs for. Paying attention to every movement/detail in game, when teammates are down, they call you on the radio "downed, 50 meters from you north, second floor". No muzzle restriction "you'll be spotted on the minimap" but just "you'll be loud buddy, watch your back" lol. Minimap on one forearm with only your localization and objectives. The sound design is awesome, this experience could be way to good for those who wants to push the limits!

All the missions in gauntlet are solid but the retrieve a beacon mission needs to go. Encouraging the player to stand still in a corner waiting for a bar to go up is dumb. At least capture points you can move around and still fight people

it's also just completely boring for an objective to be "Stand completely still for this bar to go up faster"

Gauntlet is essentially regular multiplayer on a rotation of like 20 maps. Each round is a new gamemode like rush, or capture points e.c.t. If you fail to gain enough objective score to be above the last 2 squads then your squad will be eliminated. If you do get enough then you'll qualify for the next round and a new gamemode and new map will be up next. It has armor plates like BR does but the TTK is much faster than BR. Tanks, jeeps, helicopters are all in this mode but it depends on the map. Also boats are in it too

Any ideas for Redsec? We need more modes for the free to play version of battlefield 6. Maybe a mode where we have casual gauntlet? 10 to 16 real players outta like 48 bots? This would give new comers a good start to unlock some stuff without raging out and deleting the game.

Also about adding new modes. I think gauntlet can be both extremely chill and very competitive. It's a free to play mode so if they're facing the most elite players and getting frustrated they can easily requeue into another match and will most likely get an easier game.

I personally find it pretty satisfying just qualifying for 1 or 2 rounds. I'm sure many F2P players will too. It's not like BR where it can be super unsatisfying to lose

I think gauntlet is designed really well to allow newcomers to just have a fun time running around doing the objective if they're struggling to get kills. Maps are nice and big to allow for breathing room to get your bearings and take your time learning the modes

I don't think bots are necessary given the fact that most people playing redsec are newcomers to the game in general

Not to mention the fact that SBMM is extremely light in this game

I actually think F2P players would be turned off by bots. They're downloading this game with the expectation of playing against real players. It's only BF6 owners that have anything to say about bots. Fortnite, apex, warzone, pubg e.c.t BR or other modes in those games are all bot free. I dont think F2P players ever expect or have a desire for bots

first gauntlet of the night was a dub with pubs. I almost feel like getting a win with pubs feels better than a squad. Cause that random chance of just finding a team that synergizes with zero communication.

Bots aren't that really a problem they help reduce match wait times, fill in empty spaces and after 4 years or more if someone decides to return to the game they can still play their favorite modes and get XP. A problem i had with BF4 was after 10 years that game has become a ghost town with only a few servers still up and running but not many players. Also it doesn't have crossplay or bots. I want Battlefield games to have a long shelf life because if EA makes a new Battlefield game every year it degrades into a Call Of Duty cash grab.

It dose have potential. Currently Redsec is the "free to play" version of BF6 but if players want the full Battlefield experience they are gonna have to buy the actual game. But realistically Redsec is what's gonna attract people to buy the full game. But as it is now in free to play version it's gonna need more modes. Battlefield shouldn't make the same mistake Call Of Diddy made and do nothing but cringe cosmetics for a quick cash grab. Modes are more important than looks and giving players more options is what made the other Battlefield games so successful..... except for BF Hardline that game was hot garbage.

Omg. An entire team of 4 was on the capture point at the bottom of one of the downtown skyscrapers and I just levelled the whole building and it killed all 4 of them including my 2 teammates that were fighting them 🤣

One of my challenges for this week is i have to scan the data thing 10 times! That's gonna take forever because my teammates always run off into the sunset takes the data scanner thingy, dies and the enemy takes the scanner from him and i never see it again.

We need a casual mode for gauntlet. i turned on cross play because there's no bots for this mode and I got into a lobby full of PC players who haven't seen the light of day since the game came out and the other half ex COD players with more quick hacks installed than an edge runner in cyberpunk. My poor console gaming sqaud didn't stand a chance.

We need bots to fill in the empty spaces for when crossplay is turned off or a casual mode that reduces the amount of players required to start a game so you can get some enjoyment from it without getting shot from across the map with an smg.

Pro tip. Bleed out in sudden elimination unless you have a consistent Medic. Sitting there waiting for a revive just makes it easier to get squad wiped and eliminated from the match

This game is so amazing up until you load into Gauntlet and see Rodeo pop on your screen. That game mode is making me and my buddies not want to play Gauntlet anymore. If you're stuck with a weaker tank you just lose and it's nearly impossible to recover. I can barely spawn and walk out a door without being blown to bits within nanoseconds. Improve enjoyability in this gamemode by deleting Rodeo. It's not a fun game mode. Or at the very least make it more balanced. This is hands down the worst game mode I've played in a very long time.

I gotta point out the drone and the mortar absolutely suck for the sabotage game mode. The C4 drone is already useless even though they put it in the commercial (false advertisement) the battery runs out before you can even take off and mortar can't be used at your base anymore meaning you cannot use it for 5 seconds without getting sniped. Not to mention it has a very small blast radius and even if you hit the target it dose almost no damage.

Does anyone else have this issue with the game in gauntlet or redsec, when your teammate is down you dont see his icon on him ? like no UI. It appears after he calls for medic/revive. I checked icons, checked opacity, everything is at 100% .. Steam version of the game

I dig the decryption one and hate the honeycomb grid capture mode, can't remember its name. That's the worst one when it's a fresh game and there are 8 teams. What a cluster.

Decryption is interesting that you have to stay still, it's crazy when you manage to steal someone's tablet at like 95% and finish it for all the credit.

They made a reconnect feature for gauntlet. I think they set it up in portal. I witnessed someone crash and then they were able to reconnect. Yet somehow that glitched and they couldn't spawn in so they postponed the whole thing 🤣

Also after that glitch they thought it would be a good idea to leave the "New recruits joining" feature in and some random guy from one of the losing teams got paired with the team I was was watching. One of the guys on the team was basically saying "It's fine just let the random guy play it's fine". Then about 2 minutes later the devs just pulled the plug on the server lol

I think he is just saying that K/D in BF doesn't reflect your true skill level as well as it does in other games since all of the gamemodes count towards your K/D. For example, even if two similarly skilled players solely use snipers...if one only plays conquest and one only plays redsec, their K/Ds are most likely going to be vastly different since 10 kills with a few deaths would be pretty good in redsec but underperforming in conquset.

Really? I feel like they have too many settings for everything. At least on PC. They have like 3 setting just for using the range finder. And then multiple sensitivity sliders for pretty much everything in the game.

Yea. I can definitely agree that it is confusing and a little bloated. I've definitely spent like 20 minutes in the menus to try and change one damn setting. But honestly, While it would be nice to always have the perfect settings that work for me specifically, I'd rather have too many options than not enough.

But, I have bigger gripes about the game than the settings. Like hit reg, and how almost noone is ever posting LFGs in the gauntlet discord.
