Destruction physics takes more work than games want to give it. I think the reason Finals is so run-gun / spray and pray is you won't stick around as often to really focus on the destruction and notice things
Its easy to simulate particles and fragments visually but it's cpu breaking to do it with physics and such

Finals is gonna be rife with cheaters with hit detection so they know which debris and walls you can shoot through
Id bet a lot of objects become "less real" when they take a surprisingly little amount of damage and become basically bullet transparent
Combine that with fast pace thus less chance to spot a cheater and a lower budget dev team with less resource to stop cheaters
